what bn does ...what do you mean principle politics?
what bn does is principled. it is with principle that, they award contracts worth billions of ringgit to those who can be cajoled to give back.
how else was the port klang issue grew to be a big mess. well, its a mess to audit, but in terms of payments, not so much. everyone got their money's worth.
that is principled. they do things with the preservation of self interest at heart. that is the only rule. money and favors has always ruled in the world of politics, just that in malaysia, everything and nothing is politics.azmo85https://www.blogger.com/profile/09966482494039647670noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498120352601868144.post-73925104433279896302010-12-24T23:40:18.123+11:002010-12-24T23:40:18.123+11:00Very good article indeed. May I add that besides financial corruption, another great injustice done over the years to Malaysia is the appaling education system that we have now.

A clear e.g. although provided for in the constitution, they deny some of us parents & our children the option to learn S&M in English. Even a court recently ruled in favour of their parents. Our education act also specifically allow teaching subjects in the parents' preferred languague.

Can we hope to get it right before the next generation suffer too? A change on govt would be a good start.BH Tohnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498120352601868144.post-37625258885042185452010-12-24T21:08:27.777+11:002010-12-24T21:08:27.777+11:00This is the first time I am reading your Blog. I s...This is the first time I am reading your Blog. I saw it in Malaysia Today. This article and the others you have written has taken the words of our mouths. I think that you have made you case and now we have to get the government to act. First of all the Parliament, the supreme policy making body in this country, must be the primary fountain of Justice and Fair play. My conculsion based on waht is happening now is that, " Mr. Speaker Sir, you slip is showing.

Secondly, the Judiciary. We Malysian would like this all important institution to apply the laws of this land in a consitant manner. There are far too many exceptions. The Judiciary must be beyond reproach and the 'Palace of Justice' for all Malaysians and those foreigners who come to Malaysia to invest in our country. You may be aware that Investment Agreements signed between local partners and foreign investors have a clause where arbitration is subjected to courts outside Malaysia.

Thirdly, there must be transparency and financial accontability. The Treasury must be allowed to detemine the costing of Projects and the Accountant General must be unleashed and allowed to do his constitutional job. Mnay countries have moved to strucuted costing. Where the Cost Accountants determine the prticing of contracts.Politicians should stop mocking Civil Servants with the retort, when are you going to get your PhD., every time they request for more time to make a detailed study on the social and financial implications of the projct. We cannot spend money we do not have. And if you think that you draw down on your Foreign Reserves forget it. The moment you do that and the speculators get wind of it they will be down on your financial market like vultures.

Fourthly,Yes, we want speedy development of our country. But this must be balanced with the aherence to the rule of law and not on the dictum that the powerful do not heed and those who heed are powerless.

And, finally, never forget that more haste means less speed. We must do it only once and we must get it right thye first time. The outside world is in no mood to wait for countries like Malaysia. They are going to forge ahead and no matter what we say and muddle along the middle Sir Harry Lee who took his country form a per capita income of S$ 400.00 in 1966 to S$ 44,000.00 today is going to demand of his successors form 'Up There' that in the next 40 years per capita income must double from its present level.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8498120352601868144.post-25094677773404798092010-12-24T13:50:50.044+11:002010-12-24T13:50:50.044+11:00That's because Najib is the pinnacle of UMNO&#...That's because Najib is the pinnacle of UMNO's pyramid of sins, Najib is the sum of all UMNO's SHITS!FMZamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12684540817175263124noreply@blogger.com
