Bangsar

I have had enough of KL– living in it, working in it, trying to enjoy life in it, resting it it, playing in it, shopping in it…enough of doing just about anything in it. It is a realization that has slowly but surely overwhelmed me over these last ten years since I came back to live here. For the last four years I had lived in Bangsar – a place we had first settled in when we first came back to KL to work. Back then Bangsar only had the Syed Kechik building overlooking us all – the biggest and tallest building in the area at that point of time. Now it is lost amongst the concrete jungle and I swear that here are houses bigger then the Syed Kechik building.

Bangsar now has everything that a metropolis should have. Traffic jams, noise, shopping centres, fast food, drunkards, obnoxious people, very expensive shops selling things we do not need, floods, murders, robberies, car fumes, annoying noisy and rude people wandering around on Saturday night and early Sunday mornings, crowded banks, atrociously priced Mamak and Chinese restaurants and too many people at all times of the day making Bangsar their favorite port of call.

Bangsar is Malaysia. It has the Malays – conspicuously up front with the biggest and loudest place of worship and stupidly spending their easily earned cash on the latest automobiles. NAZA has their own showroom with the latests Merc on display. It has the Chinese who dominate the commercial premises all over Bangsar. It has the Indians with their Mamak restaurants almost completely staffed by ‘foreigners’. The other races intermingle here and there just as they would do outside Bangsar. Like Malaysia, Bangsar mirrors what is wrong with our country. A police station/beat base located right across the road from a dvd shop that brazenly sells pirate dvds. Upmarket outlets selling stuff that is so hideously priced that closure is a matter of when, rather then if…like projects given out by the government – the mark up are so high that it will fail. But like the government so what if it fails – they can get much more money from the same source – they do not care..its only money. You can meet those ‘walking in the corridors of power’ in the Mamak stalls or the Starbucks discussing affairs of national interests and of course ‘projects, projects, projects’. Traffic jams – a manifestation of the gridlock that now binds our country and is slowly choking us all without any solution in sight…and on Friday you see the might of the Malays during Friday prayers. They park their car where they like - three deep on the main road, on the divider, on the pavement creating traffic havoc. The arrogance that says I can park anywhere I like because Islam is the religion of the country and nobody will do or can do anything. What inconveniences it will cause to other road users is of no concern to these pious religious soul.

Shops open and shut with ease. Their owners put money into a bottomless pit and without batting an eyelid can walk away form their extravagance investments ..easy come easy go. BSC (Bangsar Shopping Centre)  is an oasis of calm, money and untold richness in the middle of all this chaos that is Bangsar. The world is far away when you are at BSC and the drivers are jostling with each other to park their bmws, merc and jags right in front while waiting for their bosses. The display of wealth makes us question the source of it – corruption, projects – it has to be tainted because those who come by wealth through hard work will not display it so ostentatiously.

And yet people around and in Bangsar see themselves as the ‘in crowd’. They are ‘in’ alright – in denial, in a state of delusion and in complete ignorance of how the world perceive them.

The getting of wisdom for Khir Toyo...

If this Toyol Tempe guy does not see anything wrong in spending Ringgit 1.7 million for a trip to Disneyland, then what hope is there for UMNO? If my son who is still at Uni tells me that he has blown his tution fees on a Nike runner I will give him a whack across his head….not too hard, but nevertheless a whack (just picturing Khalid giving Toyol a hard whack across his head makes me smile quietly to myself). But then my son will not do so because he can think for himself and do the right thing. If my wife tells me that she has blown the grocery money on a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes…I will sit down and try to make her understand that the grocery money is there so that we will not starve, not just for her to do as she like. But then I know my wife has enough grey matter in her head to not do something so irresponsible. When you take your own money from your own pocket to spend, it is your business. When you take money that does not belong to you to spend on yourself then you are a thief. Khir Toyo is a thief.

Toyol has the guts to stand up and say that spending Ringgit 1.7 mil in Disneyland is part of his duty as Mentri Besar.…hamsap punya orang! This is a classic example of what is wrong with UMNO. Delusions of grandeur, sheer stupidity and the inability to discern right from wrong. The inability to understand that it is his duty to ensure that money belonging to the Rakyat would be spent responsibly. To stand up and say that I did no wrong is not only arrogant but also stupid….and this Toyol guy was head of the Selangor state government at one point of time…no wonder Barisan lost the state to PKR.

He did say that if he had done anything wrong he will pay the money back…where does he get Ringgit 1.7 mil? From savings while he was MB of Selangor? Here is another lead for the ACA to follow through - even if the UMNO election is over!!! Its one thing to ask us to close one eye to your silap mata but to ask us to close one eye and shut the other to your double dipping of the state money is a bit too much lah !!

You are a stupid idiot digging yourself deeper into a hole….and you are not that tall…so the hole is already over your head. You have 63 people following you overseas? Well Obama had 200 security staff shadowing him for the G20 meetings in London so I guess as MB of Selangor you do need an entourage of 63. You stupid idiot !!! That is the Rakyat's money that you are spending!! You are indeed a stupid, stupid MB. I guess it’s hard to get any decent perspective in life when you start to confuse public money with your money.

Try this Toyol. Put up your hand and say: “I made a mistake in spending so much money on a trip that brought no benefit to the state. I took advantage of my position to have an extravagant holiday for my family and me at Disneyland. It was not necessary to stay at a 10k a night presidential suite but I wanted to try it just once – and it felt so good that I stayed there for 10 days. I am sorry but I am only human”.

To your credit you were one of the few UMNO guys who stood up front and stood for election in the recent UMNO elections but there again you did so because you really believed that you have done nothing but good for Selangor and UMNO and that you think you deserve to still play a role in National Politics. Woi Toyol Tempe you are a corrupt and thieving MB that has no place in Selangor or National Politics. Dig yourself a hole in the ground and disappear before the public starts spitting on you as more and more of your excesses during your time as MB becomes public knowledge.

You are dead meat (that’s how the aussies describe some one who has been caught red handed with his hand in the cookie jar taking cookies that does not belong to him…or if you want to be more colorful…you are fucked !!)…you are just waiting to be fried, roasted or boiled before being eaten…with your luck they will forget to put you in the fridge and you will rot in the mid day sun and not even be fit for public consumption. That is the fate you deserve.

You must be one of those little Napoleons that Pak Lah has been talking about. You are indeed little – physically and mentally. But using Napoleon name to describe you is an insults to Napoleon. You and that Mike Tyson would better be known as Labu and Labi….and it does not really matter which one you want to be….or Laurel and Hardy or Abbot and Costello....but even then all these comedian did make us laugh. You are a comedian indeed but you are playing to an audience that does not think kindly of what you have done during your time on stage.

Run Toyol, run.
Khalid is on the way.
Run Toyol run,
You haven’t got time to stay.
Run toyol run,
On your marks you better start.
I'll soon and meet a hungry lion
Then a man with your cheating heart.

In Selangor tak lama dahulu,
There is a story I am sure you all tau,
About a fella who is wrong as wrong can be,
Until he met the PKR that brought him tragedy.

Oh Run Toyol run…..

(Sung to Run Samson Run by Neil Sedeka…with apologies to Neil Sedeka).

Ok guys we should not laugh at somebody in trouble. We should not hit somebody wearing contact lenses…we should use a baseball bat instead. He deserves it….Niamah !!!! The ability of those in power to continually put their foot in their own mouth continually amazes me…. And Toyol there is one more thing you should know. You have single handedly stop half the tempe eating population in Selangor from eating anymore of that delicious stuff because when they do so they keep thinking of you …so you are responsible for half of the tempe sellers losing their livelihood. So run toyol run…..

Its TIME !!

There will come a time in our life when we know that we can no longer sit and do nothing when we see our country crying for our help. There will come a time in our life when the excesses of those who call themselves our leaders can no longer be tolerated and be allowed to continue because to do so would destroy not only the life that we now know but more important the future of our children. There will come a time in our life when being Malay, Chinese, Indians will no longer be acceptable because we need to be one to succeed against the tyranny of the powerful who are hell bent in promoting their own personal agenda of greed and deceit.

THE TIME IS NOW.

We must overcome all the forces that will be thrown our way and prepare ourselves for a struggle that will require a commitment from all of us that transcends the divide and rule barriers put in place over the year since independence by our Political Masters so that they could rule us with ease. No more Racial divide, no more Religious divide, no more “them against us” scenarios….we are one, united and unwavering in our determination to have a brand new day for our country. A brand new day where we will demand accountability and responsibility from those that will seek to lead us. A brand new day where we will demand that those whose duty it is to protect us all will do so with enough respect and regard for our rights without the need of bribes or to do the bidding's of those with vested interest. We will demand that the Judiciary, the Civil Service, the Police and Government departments all do their duty without fear or favor.

Enough of being treated as second class citizens in our own country while the self proclaimed elites pillage and plunder the richness of our country to their hearts contents. Billions upon billions of Ringgits thrown away on failed national projects, failed investments, commissions, vain mega projects, trips overseas, privatization …the list is endless. No more! No more! No more ! Those that have profited from the plundering of our National richness must now be pursued and be made accountable for their misdeeds. Contracts that are not for the benefit of the Rakyat must be revoked. Economic “Corridors” that have been opening like Starbucks all over the country must be evaluated again responsibly and realistically given the current global economic situation.

The National Service, Mara, ITM, the various Universities, The Banks, the issuance of Taxi Permits, Petronas, Proton…everything that is in existence in our country that has been allowed to bleed our country dry must be looked at again in the context of their usefulness to all Malaysians. Of what use are the Sultans in the greater schemes of things? Out with them !! ANY corrupted Government Servants, any corrupted Politicians any failed contractors of government projects – anybody that has been remiss in carrying out projects paid for by Public Money must be relentlessly pursued and be held accountable for their misdeeds. Ministers will live within their means and declare their assets when they come into office and when they leave office. No more close one eye and shut the other.

These are but just a few of the things that had troubled us and taken us to this point of our history. We do not want Najib as our Prime Minister. We do not want a corrupt UMNO - or for that matter, a corrupt PKR to tell us what they want to do – WE TELL THEM WHAT TO DO !!.

Yes they can invoke the ISA on us. Yes they can set the Police on us. Yes they can tell the Judiciary what to do and what not to do. They can do all the things that those with power and money can and will do to cling to power – but in doing so they have also proclaimed their own death sentence.

Do they know how angry we are ? Do they know what people do when their back is against the wall? Do they know the contempt and disgust we have for them? Do not think that just because they are many among us that are quite and law abiding it means that we are showing respect to you and will allow you to walk all over us. Be afraid. Be very afraid. We serve notice to you running dogs of UMNO that we the people, will start the process of keeping you bastards honest… maybe you can run but you cannot hide.

Anak Tun Razak.

We have to accept that this Najib guy is just not to bright. Put yourself in his place. He has a wife that has got him by the balls and has a rope around his neck and his nose because she knows exactly what he has been up to from the time he was Mentri Besar of Pahang . When she tells him to jump – he ask her “How high?” He is going from day to day sweating buckets just wondering when the Altantuya situation will break and put him forever out of his misery – and until it does – he will do whatever he can to ignore it until he becomes PM – then he can effectively use all the arsenal at his disposal to blast the case to smithereens once and for all. He also has Perak going out of control and coming back to haunt him – when it should have been his crowning moment to be able to bring a State back into the Barisan fold. As I have said earlier, this guy is just not too bright. He though that getting Mahathir and Pak Lah together again on stage would strengthen his leadership claims over UMNO – but at what costs? Mahathir’s syarat for his return to UMNO means that Najib must comply with what the Old Man wants – nothing short of a getting UMNO back to its old days of glory – and Mahathir wants a role to play in that revival. Then there is his Deputy Mahyuddin – if Mahyuddin takes his cue from Najib himself when Najib was Deputy to Pak Lah, then there is much for Najib to worry about too. I think what we will have is a situation where Najib and Mahyuddin will be equal in the power structure within UMNO - and Mahathir will play the devils advocate to both but for his own gain.

Najib has been trading on his late Father’s legacy from the time he became MB of Pahang at the age of 29. From the National Service to the very corrupt MINDEF his involvement has always resulted in failed projects and massive overruns on dubious contracts awarded to unscrupulous Bumiputras linked directly to him. He has been consistent in being unwilling or unable to make decisions when faced with choices of opposing factions in UMNO. He was Pak Lah’s choice as Deputy because of divine intervention. Pak Lah prayed for guidance and Najib’s name came up all three times. Here God has compounded his first mistake of not making Najib very bright with another one in seconding his name to Pak Lah as the number two.

Now he is a heart beat away from being Prime Minister. Put yourself in his shoe and ask yourself what would you do first? He will always be a hen pecked husband unable to rein in his Lothario instincts. He is unable to be his own person so he has to have Mahathir in his corner. He knows he has to put his personal affairs in order before anything else. The affairs of our country is very far from his mind right now. He is now in "survival mode" and yet he knows not what to do.

Oh Najib, O Najib…what have you got yourself into now? If Perak does not kick you in the behind, Altantuya will. When Razak Baginda requires more contracts to keep him quite how do you accommodate Rosmah’s cronies ? When CIMB begins to go under how do your rescue the Bank without being accused of nepotism. Who are you going to give the billion ringgit Batu Cantonment project to? Your brother the architect who has already submitted one proposal or will it be another fast tracked, national interest negotiated tender – to be ultimately awarded to a contractor who has links to you or your brother? Of course being Minister of Finance puts you in a different league all together in as far as being able to dish out contracts to your sahabats are concerned – but with the Internet and the economy of the world in recession, if I were you, I would be very very careful and be very very afraid of what is to come in the months ahead. Your wish of becoming PM is about to happen but you might just have wished for your own downfall because now you are out in the open, all by yourself and the buck stops at your doorstep.
