Zahid to take Guan Eng on sub trip

This is to disprove the opposition allegations that the Malaysian submarine is unable to submerge.

LANGKAWI: Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will accompany Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng on a trip onboard the KD Tun Razak submarine on Friday, to disprove opposition allegations that the submarine is unable to submerge.

Ahmad Zahid said he and Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, will board the Royal Malaysian Navy’s second of two Scorpene submarines at the 11th Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2011 (LIMA) at the Awana Porto Malai at 3pm.

He said this was an indication that the defence minister was on hand to observe the workings of the submarine which was alleged to have been unable to submerge.

“Guan Eng telephoned me yesterday to say he was coming here. Although the submarine was to serve as a static exhibition at LIMA this time, I have nevertheless, asked that it give him a ride

Woi Zahid! Engkau fikir engkau main goli ka? You think you are playing marbles during your schooldays ? Please lah Zahid have some class! Are you going to invite every other Pakatan Rakyat politicians to go and try the Submarine and any other dubious defense purchases made under Najib? What about the Eurocopter? Will you allow Guan Eng to have a look see into the PSC naval dockyard debacle? 

If you idiots in UMNO think that you can convince Guan Eng and all of us that the RM$500 million commission given to Razak Baginda is deserved because the submarine can 'selam' then you are sadly mistaken. As some sage said recently, just get Rosmah on board and the submarine will 'selam'.  

Kita marah bukan because the submarine cannot 'selam' - it is the whole f*#king shindig  - from the RM$500 commission given to a company that does not even know the difference between up periscope and down periscope to the cover up of Altantuya murder! And I can tell you that taking Guan Eng on a trip on that submarine is not going to make our anger go away!

And the utter stupidity of spending billions of the Rakyat's money to defend our country against what? Whom? Those days when you can make us believe that any purchase by MINDEF is in the nation's interest just as long as it is able to fly, move on land and sea has been over many years ago. If you are serious about exposing the rort in MINDEF then start by telling us what the RM$500 million given to Razak Baginda was for? And whatever story you are going to spin on this one, make it at least believable lah! Swearing on the Koran that all is well with MINDEF is not advisable! Opening up your books on all these purchases to the opposition would be advisable.

The 10th Malaysian Plan, which covers the period from January 2011 to December 2015 outlines the Barisan Nasional Government’s policy priorities over the next five years. It has allocated RM23 billion for defence & security. In contrast the savings from the latest withdrawal of subsidies was less than RM1 billion. Back up a little bit here:

·      Defence spending RM23 billion.

·      Savings on subsidies RM1 billion! 

I am not going to go into the promise of the BN government to raise Gross National Income (GNI) per capita from RM21, 000 to RM38, 850 in the 10^th Malaysian Plan.

Nor will I look at the BN government’s intention to reduce the fiscal deficit from 5.3% of GDP to less than 3% by 2015.

In the 10^th MP the BN government also wants to increase the composition of highly skilled workers in the country from 23% to 37% by the end of the 10MP period.

“Promises”, “intentions” and “wants” of the Barisan Nasional Government are notoriously subjective to the prevailing financial situation of their political elites, UMNO warlords and their cronies and not of the Rakyat or the Nation. Just let us look at this as an example:

When a unit of Petronas purchased $220 million of Konsortium Perkapalan  (KP) assets from Mirzan Mahathir’s it was not because Mirzan had trouble servicing its $490 million debt. No it was not a bailout of Mahathir’s son! It was in line with the government intention to raise the income of the Mahathir’s family - who are Malays (questionable?) and Malaysians – thus you can equate that to raising the Malaysian GNI (or the GNI the Mahthir’s family – which is really the same thing lah!) by a few hundred millions – which by now, has increase into the billions.

So no going there. I just want to look at the withdrawal of subsidiaries that will save the government less than RM$1 Billion against the provision of RM$23 billion for defence and security.

First the withdrawal of subsidiary for sugar. Nothing to do with saving money for the government. No Sir! It has everything to do with promoting a healthier lifestyle. 43.1 % of Malaysian adults are over weight or obese. Nothing to do with the government having to spend over 700 million ringgit on sugar subsidy. No Sir! If the people had to pay more for sugar to be healthier – why not! Even the Minister got into the act:

“The government's reduction of sugar subsidy by 25 sen a kilogramme is not to burden the people but instead is to help Malaysians practise a healthy lifestyle, said Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. 

He said he found it surprising that there were complaints about the reduction in sugar subsidy when consumer associations had praised the move"

Come on lah stupid….........people on low income will be affected when the cost of sugar goes up! Duh?

Now just let us go back to the spending on Defence and Security. Where does the RM$500 million commission paid to Razak Baginda's company for the purchase of the Submarines falls under?

Hell they might even be able to put it in the same category as saving Mirzan’s ass – under increasing Malaysia's GNI. Can someone with a Wharton MBA please explain? I know that Mirzan has one but he has a vested interest in all this – so someone else with a Wharton MBA will do. Anybody?  

Amazing! This BN government has the audacity to take away the subsidy from sugar that will affect millions of Malaysian. They then use the money “saved” to pay their cronies generous commission, save the Prime Minister’s son ass from bankruptcy…and god knows what other “payments” given to a handful of individuals at the expense of millions of Malaysians! Only in Malaysia. Only in Malaysia under a corrupt Barisan Nasional government
