Divine retribution await those who leak state secrets, civil servants told

PUTRAJAYA, June 23 ― Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi cautioned civil servants today against leaking government secrets, saying this would be a violation of the oaths they had taken in Allah’s name.

The deputy prime minister said divine retribution would await those who break their oaths, apart from punishments from man-made laws like the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972.

“If there are those among us who perhaps feel the need to leak or share our secrets with outsiders, then there are laws like the OSA,” he told a breaking of fast event here at his official residence.

But Ahmad Zahid urged for self-restraint, calling this the best form of enforcement.

He cited as example the Muslim obligation to fast during Ramadan, saying that although Islamic law permits religious enforcers to nab those who fail to do so, it was better for adherents to practice self-restraint.

“Therefore, before the laknat (divine retribution) comes from Allah, I am reminding myself and all the government officers here to protect secrets because that is our oath as government officers.

“Our oath is with Allah because we use Allah’s name. This is not a warning, but I am just reminding myself and all of us, because these are the teachings of Ramadan,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid also expressed hope that the fasting month would help train civil servants to have better self-discipline when it comes to handling government secrets.




steadyaku47 comment : When the oath you make civil servants take fails to stop civil servants from leaking state secrets that exposes the pillaging and plundering of our nation's resources by this BN government and when the OSA 1972 also fails to ensure that civil servants have better self-discipline in keeping quiet about the indiscretions of the government they serve...then it is time to invoke the name of ALLAH. 
  
But is there such a thing as "selective divine retribution?"

Does ALLAH divine retribution comes only upon those whom Umno wants ALLAH's laknat to be visited upon? Does PAS also have a say in these "divine interventions?"

What an idiot this DPM of ours is! Invoking the wrath of ALLAH upon those he considers deserving of ALLAH's divine retribution while just last week we are informed by Abu Sayyaf that they were shortchanged of RM3 million out of the RM12 million that this idiot of a DPM tells us "WAS NOT PAID" to Abu Sayyaf but was donated to a Muslim Charity body in the Philippines!

Where is the Money!

Where is the Rm12million collected by the families of those who were kidnapped, by NGO's and by well wishers....where and to whom has that money gone to? Who took possession of the RM12 million? Who cashed the cheques? What was the rationale behind the DPM decision to donate the money to an Islamic body in the Philippines? Why donate to an Islamic entity in the Philippines? That money was raised to pay the ransom demanded by Abu Sayaff to free the four Malaysians....would it not be the right for the owners of the money to decide if it could be used for anything else?  What arrogance for the DPM to decided that the money should go to an Islamic body in the Philippines! So many questions and of course....no answers! 

Abu Sayyaf militants kidnap people to fund their fight for an independent Islamic province in the southwestern part of the Philippines....and more urgently they needed cash to help their counterparts in Basilan Island following massive military operations there to capture their leader Isnilon Hapilon.

A few days back, a Canadian was beheaded when Canada reused to pay the $6 million ransom demanded by Abu Sayaff for his release.

So why....instead of rejoicing in the release of the four kidnapped Malaysians from the clutches of the Abu Sayaff militants... why are Malaysians asking what was done with the RM12 million collected for the ransom?

The Manila Times quoted two “highly placed sources” in the Philippines government as saying that the southern Philippine militants were angry that they had only received 100 million pesos (RM8.8 million) instead of about 130 million pesos (RM12 million) which was reportedly raised by the hostages’ families to secure their release.
“The missing amount raised suspicions the rebels may be in cahoots with government officials from Malaysia and the Philippines who may have shared the money among themselves,” said the report.
It remains unclear as to where the RM12 million raised by the families went as Malaysian government authorities have repeatedly denied paying ransom to the rebel group.

Let me say what needs to be said...I believe that the money DID NOT GO TO A BODY IN THE PHILIPPINES WHICH ASSIST IN AN ISLAMIC STRUGGLE" as claimed by the DPM. Some went into the DPM's pocket, some into PDRM's pockets, some to "intermediateries" in Malaysia and in the Philippines and, in one way or another, some went to Abu Sayaff...and then, maybe, what was left over did finally go to that "Islamic body in the Philippines which assisted in the the Islamic Struggle"

Philippine is a sovereign country. Why do we need to give money to their religious organisation? We are not their religious saviour, we ourselves need money whether for religious purposes or for general purposes. We are not a rich country anymore. Even Saudi Arabia has gone poor.

steadyaku47 comment : As expected, after a night of sleeping on the happenings of yesterday over what our DPM has done with the RM12millon handed over to PDRM to go towards any ransom demand by the Abu Sayyaf, we all wanted to have our say on the matter. 

The above is, but just a sampling of what I encountered...and like all issues that have made us questioned the deeds of this Umno led BN government....it is a question of "TRUST". 

We no longer trust the words of this Umno led BN government because "cakap bukan serupa bikin" and vested political and personal interests trumps everything else.

The RM12million handed over to PDRM to pay the ransom demanded by Abu Sayaff is a case in point. That RM12million was raised from public donations and assets sales (by the hostages families.....since when has the government decided that money raised this way is to be handed over to an Islamic entity/Charity Organizartion in a foreign land?

So far this is what this DPM of ours have narrated to us as to what has happened with the RM$12million:

• No ransom money was paid to Abu Sayyaf.
• The money was given to Charity.
• The Money was given to an Islamic entity.

Let me say what needs to be said...I believe that the money DID NOT GO TO A BODY IN THE PHILIPPINES WHICH ASSIST IN AN ISLAMIC STRUGGLE"  as claimed by the DPM. Some went into the DPM's pocket, some into PDRM's pockets, some to "intermediateries" in Malaysia and in the Philippines and, in one way or another, some went to Abu Sayaff...and then, maybe, what was left over did finally go to that "Islamic body in the Philippines which assisted in the the Islamic Struggle".

I am certain that the majority of that RM12million collected came from non-Muslims - were they consulted about the money going to an "Islamic Body which assist in an Islamic Struggle?" 

DId the DPM think about reimbursing the money to those who have sold their assets (cars and houses?) BEFORE he so generously donated the RM12million to that Islamic body that assisted in an Islamic Struggle? It is not his or the government money to donate!

Like that RM2.6 billion donation to Najib and 1MDB, so many of those who gained financially in those many dubious transactions and outright scams, have remained nameless and their identities clouded under such description as "Saudi Royalty" and what have you.

This RM12million caper seems destined to head the same way....same SOP ...same modus operandi...."national security" issues...."the government knows best" arguments and of course that most convincing of mantra...."do not politicize this issue".

In these coming days more questions will be asked and more "details" will emerged from the DPM, from the BN governments side, from Abu Sayyaf, from the Islamic Body involved, from the Philippines Government and from all walks of life that may or may not have any connection or knowledge of where that RM$12million went....but this we now know....those who have contributed to that RM12million may or may not have assisted in the freeing of those hostages....but we and they now know that they will never see their money again!

Where that RM12million went will now take its place with that RM2.6billion donation, with 1MDB and the various other financial capers, shennaningans and outright scams that this corrupt Umno led BN government have perpetrated and will continue to perpetrate, upon the long suffering people of this nation....so help me God!
