cakap cakap Monday morning. Azmin Ali is good for PH. Azmin Ali is right for PH and Azmin Ali is needed within PH
It would seems that Azmin Ali can do no right!
Every day in many ways some one NOT from the Barisan Nasional enclave is doing the job for them. Someone from Pakatan Harapan ? Some one from within PKR perhaps?
This morning I woke up to this headline :
EVEN PAS SEES AZMIN AS A BACKSTABBER: OVERAMBITIOUS S’GOR MB OFFERING HIS GOMBAK SEAT TO DESTROY, NOT HELP MAHATHIR, WARNS HADI’S RIGHT-HAND MAN ZUHDI
All this with a regularity like clockwork....like a broken record....with a monotony that sickens and disgusts me....someone NOT from the Barisan Nasional enclave is stabbing Azmin Ali in the back, thrusting the knife deeper into him with each passing day and now twisting the knife, the whole knife and nothing but the knife....to ensure Azmin Ali dies a political death.
Surely, you may tell yourself, if even PAS with whom Azmin Ali has been dallying with for as long as you can remember....surly if PAS thinks Azmin Ali is a back stabber, over ambitious and everything else that gives politicians a bad name...then surly Azmin Ali must be all that and more!
And yesterday I read that his offering of his Gombak seat to Mahathir is now construed to be "likely an attempt to stop the latter from becoming prime minister, should the coalition win the next general election".
When words like "likely", "speculate", "perhaps", "I don't know". "based on our analysis" are being used to frame any opinion or facts, you should best use your own judgement and common sense to come to your own conclusion about what is being discussed, debated and speculated.
This much I know of Azmin Ali.
There was a time not too long ago when his position, his survival...even his place in PKR depended on the grace of Anwar Ibrahim. There was a time a few years back, when, if you were to talk of Azmin Ali, you would snort with disgust and brand him an appendage of Anwar Ibrahim. All that Anwar Ibrahim want done, Azmin can do, will do and has always done.
This much I now know of Azmin Ali.
He is no longer beholden to Anwar Ibrahim....not politically. He is still loyal to Anwar Ibrahim ...but not politically. He is still Anwar's man...but not politically. Today Azmin Ali is his own man. He has his own power base within PKR. He has now the ability to determine his own political path and future. And this, Anwar Ibrahim, or any one else, may challenge to their own detriment.
Let me be more circumspect. Today Azmin Ali is a threat to Anwar Ibrahim if those within PKR were able to choose a leader to lead them in a free, fair and open manner. And yet Anwar Ibrahim's greatest defence against that from happening is Azmin Ali himself....for Azmin Ali is loyal to Anwar Ibrahim to a fault! And Anwar Ibrahim better believe that and not allow the present situation within PKR to come to a point where push comes to shove.
Am I saying, that once again PKR is doing itself in? Yes I am. Am, I saying that given enough rope, PKR can easily hang itself until dead? Yes I am. And all this PKR is doing to itself because too many in PKR cannot see beyond the tip of their political nose....and I am getting sick of this periodic attempts by PKR to rid itself of anybody they deem "unfit for purpose".....PKR's purpose...whatever that purpose is. And we now know by what is now happening, Azmin Ali has been deem to be not fit for PKR's purpose.
I hope this idiocy will stop. I hope Tun Dr Mahathir will do what needs to be done to make things right in PKR and in Pakatan Harapan. Azmin Ali is good for PH. Azmin Ali is right for PH and Azmin Ali is needed within PH.....and Yes...Azmin Ali is a threat to anyone who has his or her eyes on being the prime minister of Malaysia.
A "threat" because today, Malaysians value meritocracy above all else. A "threat" because he, among a few others, represent the "new normal" of politics in Malaysia where power, respect and position is earned not because of who you are but because you have earned that right to lead and the people have given you the mandate to be their leader.
End of story.

Azmin Ali
I have never met Azmin Ali. Never know him in any capacity...and about the only time I was close to having a talk with him was when Anwar told me to get in touch with Azmin on a matter we were then discussing...and I told Anwar..."no"...I told Anwar that I will only talk with him and nobody else. But that was at a time when being the Mentri Besar of Selangor was not even a glint in his eyes. Since then much has happened for Azmin... and no matter what anybody says of him, I know that Azmin Ali has been steadfast in his loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim....even when he went for the Selangor Meteri Besar post at the same time as Azizah.
And why do I say this?
I say that going for the Selangor MB's post was the right thing to do for Azmin Ali because he, like many others, understood what having Azizah as MB would do for PKR and for Selangor. ...the negatives out weigh the positives. He, like many others, did what had to be done for the good of PKR, Anwar and Selangor...and so he made the political decision to go for the MB post himself. Time has proven him to be right in that decision.
Now the word has gone out "Get Azmin Ali"...whether the word came from BN , PKR or Pakatan Harapan is moot....but the word to "Get Azmin" is definitely out - the long knives are out, the Keris has has been drawn and it would seem that Azmin's going is a done deal.
I would suggest that anyone who thinks that Azmin Ali is ready to roll over and play dead, need their heads to be examined. He is MB of Selangor and he has survived his tenure there with grace and grit. With grace because Azmin Ali has done for the Rakyat of Selangor more then he has done for PKR and himself. With grit because he has done so by facing his detractors and those who intend to "get him" without batting an eyelid and done so, full frontal....the first line of defence in Selangor ...whether it be for PKR or Pakatan Harapan, has always been Azmin Ali himself. He fights his own battles.
And yet the clamouring for his removal is rising to a crescendo. Too loud to ignore and too orchestred to abate. Some one is loudly beating the drums to herald Azmin's departure from PKR and Pakatan Harapan. Why?
I do not have an answer to this. Suffice for me to say that Azmin has risen through the ranks on his own merits..with some help of course from Anwar Ibrahim...but he has earned his place as MB of Selangor.
Let us see how he carries himself at the national level. I have enough faith in his ability to hold his own place at any level of political - state or national....if given the opportunity.

Azmin goyang.
Azmin tiada pilihan selain perlu bertindak segera sebelum kehilangan jawatan Menteri Besar.
comment : Rumour pembubaran ni dah mula hampir 2 bln dulu 'as an alternative route' tapi is PKR & PH ready? Actually PKR has leadership problem for last 18 mths. Too dependant on DSAI.

Kenapa MP BN hodoh sangat? Dah lah hodoh...perangai macam berok on heat. MB Selangor cool aja
Kassim S.A. says:
You asked why are BN MPs so ugly that they resemble very closely retarded apes on heat. I have good news for you. You and the other 25 million Malaysians are not the only ones who seek an answer.
Scientists from around the globe have been puzzled by this phenomenon that seems to infect only those who are elected by equally puzzling morons who believe that a dead admiral from China will be reincarcerated to save their race. (Damn the spellchecker!)
The results of a scientific study reveal that these BN MPs suffer from a rare disease known as Ed Zachary disease. This disease was first discovered by a Japanese doctor named Dr Ichibawa Jubosan. According to him, he first came across this disease while treating a couple from Malaysia.
Let me share with you his findings.
My name is Dr Ichibawa Jubosan. I am a Japanese and I specialise in sex theraphy. There was this married couple who were having terrible intimacy problems. There was just no sex between the two. One day, they made an appointment to see me.
At their first appointment I instruct the wife to prease take off all of her crothes. I then tell her to get on her hands and knees and crawl away from me on the floor. The couple just shake their heads in wonderment, but she comply. Then I say prease, crawl back towards me facing me. Again she complies. I then tell her to bend over and look at me through her legs. I exclaim, "I see your probrem. You have Ed Zachary Disease!!"
They both asked, what the hell does that mean and I say, "Your face look Ed Zachary like your ass."

Azmin Ali : Press Release : Prime Minister can no longer hide behind a wall of silence and must instead address the nation on this matter.
PRESS RELEASE
21 JULY 2016
In view of the latest
announcement by the United States Department of Justice concerning the
1MDB scandal, the Prime Minister must once and for all come clean on the
matter which can no longer be swept under the carpet. Neither can the
Prime Minister pretend that this latest action is not bringing shame and
scandal to the country.
As
reported in the international press and all the major news portals
except our mainstream UMNO-BN controlled media, the DOJ has finally
instituted legal process to seize properties worth more than US$1
billion (RM4 billion) tied to 1MDB, as part of the US$3.5 billion
misappropriated from the institution.
Announcing this at a news conference, US Attorney-General Loretta Lynch said the 1MDB officials treated the state investment fund like “a personal bank account” and “stole billions of dollars from the people of Malaysia” and that this action was part of an effort "to combat global corruption" and ensure that the US would not serve as a "safe haven to those who illegally use public funds for private gain".
At last, after all these months of trying to white wash the mother of all financial scandals in Malaysia, the truth concerning 1MDB has finally surfaced confirming beyond the shadow of a doubt that there was indeed a conspiracy to defraud and launder billions of the taxpayers’ money committed by those closely connected with those occupying the highest rungs of public office.
While it is true that none of the lawsuits named Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Razak, specifically named are his step son Riza Aziz, Jho Low, and Abu Dhabi government officials. The assets involved include penthouses, mansions, artwork, a private jet and proceeds from the "Wolf of Wall Street" movie that it says were illegally acquired through money diverted from 1MDB of which the Prime Minister was also the chairman at all material times.
As we have consistently maintained, Najib Razak's decision last year to sack deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, relieve the then Attorney-General Gani Patail of his duties and displace top MACC officers who were actively involved in the 1MDB investigation strongly suggested a conspiracy to cover up the scandal.
In light of the latest development, the Prime Minister can no longer hide behind a wall of silence and must instead address the nation on this matter.

Crisis in PKR : PKR has a president in Wan Azizah who is dominant, uncompromising, selfish, vengeful, stubborn and ambitious. No one, in the history of Malaysian politics, have stayed as loyal as Azmin Ali have been to Anwar Ibrahim. None! Something has to give!
To quote my cousin, Mohammad Karim from Kuala Pilah......"Nothing
will change if the opposition keep kicking themselves to death. There
is no rallying messiah to garner a working coalition." Agreed on all counts!
We
know where their messiah has gone to...but that point about "kicking
themselves to death" needs to be brought to the attention of those who
are indeed kicking themselves to death - namely PKR, PAS and DAP....in
no particular order of fault or guilt lest any of you point the finger
at me for being partial to any one race, religion or gender.
I want to start with PKR : Parti Keadilan Rakyat.
I want to start with PKR not because I love it least among the opposition party that sits in opposition to BN, but because I love it most among the opposition parties that sits in opposition to Umno and BN. I was with Anwar Ibrahim in MCKK and there are others from MCKK who are also in PKR and we budak Kolet do try to take care of each other the best way we can....but even the legendary MCKK camaraderie has it's limit. I fear that mine is about to be reached and breached!
From the time of it's inception in 2006 I have watched, with more than a passing interest, at the progress....no, progress is not the right word to describe PKR's past performance....it would be more appropriate to say......I have watched PKR stumble, triumph, fall, pick itself up again and again and fall again and stumble over the years.....through too many highs and lows....mostly lows if I am to be truthful.
The only triumph was that 2008 general elections when somehow, beyond it's wildest expectations, PKR won 31 seats in Parliament and for once, justified Anwar's claim to be the next Prime Minister of Malaysia and PKR's assumption of it's position as the leader among the opposition coalition.....and as Jackie Kennedy said of her's and JFK's time in the white house:
"Don't let it be forgot, that once there was a spot, for one brief, shining moment that was known as Camelot. There will be great presidents again ... but there will never be another Camelot".
—Kennedy describing the years of her husband's presidency for Life.
Will there be another Camelot for PKR and Anwar in the future?
To err is human...and none are more human than politicians....and none have erred within the opposition quiet like PKR. But let us not visit the ghosts of PKR's past....let us talk about the present.
All that PKR has today that is of any political value is Selangor.
PKR
must back the Selangor goverment at all costs. That is your fort and
your strength. For good or bad, everyone within PKR must ensure the state excel and does
well. Umno will never retake Selangor unless PKR and its allies destroy
themselves.
And what is happening in Selangor today?
Again I want to talk about the present - not the past. Not if that Khalid debacle had not happened, not if Anwar Ibrahim is free (for he is not!) and certainly not in the future when the imminent arrival of another federal election will invariably see a realignment of once sworn enemies and tiresome nemesis for the sake of political advantage.
Azmin and Wan Azizah can deny all they want....Anwar Ibrahim can write as many letters as he wants from inside Sungai Buloh and all of PKR can stand shoulder to shoulder with hands on their hearts and tells us all that all is well within PKR.
We that understand the goings on within that political entity knows what is going on.
PKR has a president in Wan Azizah who is dominant, uncompromising, selfish, vengeful, stubborn and ambitious. Wan Azizah is a president who will stop at nothing to kill off her Deputy and those she thinks are aligned with him. Wan Azizah is not a uniting President. And I will name names... she has Rafizi and Saifuddin and a few others on her side....and more damaging to PKR, she has Anwar Ibrahim desperately trying to keep himself relevant in PKR through her and though the same SOP that he did when he was in Umno - divide and rule.
If it takes discrediting the Selangor government for Wan Azizah to take control of PKR, Wan Azizah will do so. The latest skirmishes over the use of women and cash to get things done in the Selangor government "leaked" by Rafizi, is a case in point.
I stress that I do not want to talk too much about the past...only of the present and the very recent past. Rafizi's "leaks" about the women and cash is in the recent past....and what did it achieve? Zilch. Naught. Zero ...kosong ...except to embarass Azmin Ali's stewardship of Selangor....and if that was the intended outcome by Rafizi and Wan Azizah...then they have been successful.
Observe that there has not been a tit fot tat response from Azmin and "his faction". Do not be fooled by Azmin Ali's silence or by his patience...for Azmin does have a sizable faction within PKR who will do his bidding, if asked.
DId I applaud Rafizi for his "exposure" of such odious practices which he inferred the Selangor government condoned? No I did not and you can read my response to his exposure here:
Let me caution anyone in PKR that should they think it neccesary to "expose" other "wrongdoings" within the Selangor government just make sure that your intentions are purer than white...and not driven by personal, political or financial considerations.....lest your "expose" turns around to bite you...Karma!
Azmin Ali is not part of the problem within PKR...he is an integral part of the solution. A good PKR team is when all, in spite of differences, can work together because there is a common goal. Not everyone will agree with you but if he or she is in PKR, he or she is not your enemy.
But at the same time I must ask Azmin Ali if the price of his loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim has been worth it!
Is it his loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim that has prevented Azmin Ali from having any public dispute with Wan Azizah even when common sense dictates that he should? A loyalty that Anwar and Wan Azizah has time and time again, used to their political advantage but at the expense of Azmin Ali and, sadly, PKR?
If so, what then is Azmin Ali's tipping point? Will he go the way of the others who have left PKR rather that to stay and from within PKR, make PKR into their image rather than that of Anwar's?
Or will Azmin Ali stay and feign allegiance to Wan Azizah while consolidating and expanding his factional base within PKR.
This is just me thinking aloud what is in my head....as I am sure, many of you too are. We are all confused with what is happening within PKR but what we are agreed upon is that if Najib calls for a snap election in these next few months, PKR is a goner....Mampus. Mati. Die lah!
No one, in the history of Malaysian politics, have stayed as loyal as Azmin Ali have been to Anwar Ibrahim. None! He has been rewarded for his loyalty by being the MB of Selangor today....but he has become the MB not only because of his loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim, but more tellingly, when push came to shove between him and Anwar & Family, Azmin Ali could effectively call upon for support from within and outside of PKR.
Let there not be another time before the next general election when Azmin Ali is once again required to flex his considerable muscles within PKR in order to secure his political future within PKR and on a national level.
I am not suggesting that Azmin Ali will do so...or that he is seeking a reason to do so...or that he is waiting for an opportunity to do so. Whether he will do so or not will depend on how the Captain of the SS PKR - whether that be Wan Azizah or Anwar Ibrahim, will steer the ship through the impending storms ahead as Umno tries to do to PKR what it has already done to PAS.
I would ask saudara Anwar Ibrahim that before he pleads for opposition unity, he should start by telling the incumbent PKR president that that is sorely needed first within PKR.
Note: On this same subject I will have to find some ilham to write same about DAP and PAS...when that ilham comes.....I will write.

Lim Kit Siang has disappointed many!
Let me remind the opposition (whoever they may now be!) why they were able to get the popular mandate from the voters of Malaysia and garner 51% of the votes in the last general election.
Lim Kit Siang, Lim Guan Eng, Anwar Ibrahim, Hadi and Tok Guru together, arms raised in unison, giving the message to all Malaysians that no matter what their differences, they will be together to serve the people of Malaysia should they be called upon to form the Government of the day. If they can somehow forge a union from racial, religious and political diversity then there is hope yet for our nation, our people and for our future.
The people of Malaysia did not fail them. Pakatan Rakyat received the popular mandate to form government but six decades of gerry meandering by a corrupt Umno who intends to stay in government at all costs - through legal or illegal means - meant that a popular mandate is not enough to allow the opposition to form government. That would have to wait for another day when a level playing field is in place to ensure that democratic principles are adhered to.
The burden of race has inflicted upon us all many limitations.
Ketuanan Melayu in lieu of meritocracy. The immediate benefit that migration brings against the tedious work and sacrifices that nation building asks of you. Political correctness at the expense of political realities that effectively impedes national growth and consensus when our nation has need for it most. All this that I say here, is for you all to reflect as the Sarawak elections unfolds before us all.
Today at the very moment when the Umno led Barisan Nasional is at it weakest what is happening to the opposition?
Azmin: DAP-PKR clashes in Sarawak election 'unfortunate'
KUCHING: Going against earlier pledges not to fight each other in the upcoming Sarawak election, two component parties of Pakatan Harapan are nevertheless doing precisely that as they take each other on in Batu Kitang.
What are we to make of all this?
Pakatan Rakyat is long gone - dead and buried without so much as a respectful burial for a political entity that 51% of Malaysian voters choose to lead them in the last general election. Think about it! The people of Malaysia voted for Pakatan Rakyat and what Pakatan Rakyat did was to turn around and told the people of Malaysia "F*#k Off"!...our own political agendas, our leaders individual needs and our racial and religious wants comes first before the national aspirations of the majority of the electorates that voted for Pakatan Rakyat.
Thank you very much we all say...we will not forget that in the next general elections.
For now let me have my say on the state of the opposition today.
Lim Kit Siang has disappoint many Malaysians because he will not lead the opposition in lieu of Anwar Ibrahim. He deserves to lead, he has earned the right to lead and there is nobody better to lead the opposition, but Kit Siang will not lead because "political correctness" does not allow him to be leader of the opposition.
That is why the opposition is in disarray. That is why the opposition is failing if it has not already failed. And that is why when Umno is at its weakest, so is the opposition!
Politics abhor a vacuum. I have nothing against a women to lead the opposition but I have everything against a women leader, against any leader, who fails to lead.
Azmin Ali is too busy being "presidential" as MB Selangor and has started to stray into political delusion of grandeurs that has dog many other overly ambitious political leaders. Will Pakatan Harapan want anything from what Azmin Ali already has in Selangor? Does Azmin Ali need to work with the leadership within Pakatan Harapan or do they need him and Selangor more than Azmin and Selangor need Pakatan Harapan? And an "agreement in principles" on how the Sarawak Elections are to be conducted can be agreed to if, and only if, they served his and PKR's political agendas, NOT Pakatan Harapan agendas!
This is what happens when there is a political vacuum within the opposition! Everyone for themselves - for their own needs and for their own greed.
There is no political vacuum in Umno. They may have a flawed, corrupt and irresponsible leader but Umno has a leader in Najib Razak. When they tire of him they will change him but for now there is focus in Umno, there is leadership.
In conclusion let me say this:
For as long as the Chinese think they cannot lead politically in Malaysia because of race and religion.
For as long as the Malays think that race and religion confers upon them the right to political power without any consideration to meritocracy, responsibility and accountability.
Then that is the length of time our nation, our people and our future will be damm to achieve less that what we can, if not damm, eventually, to failure.
Great men, with greater purpose in life than themselves, can go on to do greater things. The late Tok Guru Nik Aziz, the late Karpal Singh have done their part. Anwar too - but Anwar is now indisposed. Lim Kit Siang has still to run the gauntlet.....we will have to wait to see if he does!
Comment by Dahi Ketiak
steadyaku47 : DK I have understood the "Malay mindset" from the time I could think for I am a Malay myself....but why would any Malay want to be led by any Malay who will rob, steal, plunder and pillage a country that they mistakenly call their own? If, despite our numerical advantage and after 60 years of Umno a Malay is no longer The Peminpin - then maybe it is what the Malays mau?
Pakatan Rakyat is long gone - dead and buried without so much as a respectful burial for a political entity that 51% of Malaysian voters choose to lead them in the last general election.

Very
true Cik Hussein, but if Kit Siang leads the Opposition the BN people
will have a field day citing it as proof that the Cina are taking over
the country. This surely won't go down very well with the Malays who
fear that Ketuanan Melayu will no longer be possible. Apa Cina mau lagi?
This will plague the Malay psyche who forever fear losing Tanah Melayu.
Until you understand this Malay mindset you will never appreciate why
The Peminpin must always be a Melayu.
steadyaku47 : DK I have understood the "Malay mindset" from the time I could think for I am a Malay myself....but why would any Malay want to be led by any Malay who will rob, steal, plunder and pillage a country that they mistakenly call their own? If, despite our numerical advantage and after 60 years of Umno a Malay is no longer The Peminpin - then maybe it is what the Malays mau?
