Just another day in Bolehland!

Now it looks like we are back to basics! You need permits to go caroling over the Christmas season, students arrested in protest for academic freedom, PKR leader quits in Penang and BN sudah sedia tawan Selangor! Just the usual suspects. Just another day in paradise! A bit of this and a bit of that.

All the billions spent on Smart Tunnels, Stormwater Management,flood mitigation schemes and what have you…all for naught! Billions have been spent, money have been made by the politicians and all the promises made at the launching of these schemes are now forgotten.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department keeps telling us that the floods would be managed! Yes they managed alright – they managed to get their kick backs and bribes paid by their flood mitigation contractors for work done NOT according to specifications. Not according to schedule! And for the numerous variation orders that really really do make a bundle for everyone down the line!

Sungai Bunus overflowed in the middle of the city? Oh well the Federal Territory director said that a rainfall of 80mm and below is manageable. That the Stormwater Management and Road Tunnel helps to bring down the water level in Sungai Kelang…woi Mat Rahim you can say what you want to NST…but what about the flooding in Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Semarak and in Kampong Baru? Who cares about easing the situation? The people want these floods to stop! If you stop the bribery and the corruption within your department I am sure it would help to ‘ease’ the flood situation in the city center! Though it might not ‘ease’ your cash flow situation!
