Dear Prime Minister Anwar,

First let me congratulate Dato Seri on your recent appointment as the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia. I understand that there would be many issues confronting the incoming Pakatan Rakyat government under your leadership but with respect Dato’ Seri, this is a matter that you and your government must addressed without delay.

I urge you, Mr Prime Minister, to translate into immediate action the pledges of reforms to abolish the ISA, the Emergency Ordinances and other repressive laws made, but never fulfilled, by the outgoing Barisan Nasional government. I strongly urge Dato’ Seri to end unlawful preventative detention as a means of law enforcement without delay because it denies the fundamental rights of the Rakyat.

On a personal note Dato’ Seri may I respectfully suggest that the Malay Dress Dato Sri will be wearing for the swearing in ceremony before our Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Balairong Seri in Istana Negara for the official swearing of Dato’ Seri into office should not be of a dark blue color (UMNO color ma!).

Iniklailah!

Sincerely
Hussein Hamid
