"We extend our deepest concolences to the bereaved."

"We will not hesitate to take stern action."

"We have formed a committee to investigate."

"Do not speculate."

LIFE IS CHEAP IN MALAYSIA. IN THIS CASE THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT TOTALLY TO BE BLAMED; THE BUS OPERATORS, THE CASINO PEOPLE AND THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD GET TOGETHER TO FIND SOME PREVENTIVE MEASURES TO LESSEN ACCIDENT PRONE ROAD AREAS LEADING ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP OF GENTING. FOR A START HAVE FREQUENT CHECKS ON BUSES' SAFETY AND OVERLOADING, THE ROAD BUILDERS SHOULD CONSTRUCT SAFETY RAMPS FOR VEHICLES AT SELECTED AREAS PARTICULARLY IN ACCIDENT PRONE AREAS SUCH AS THE ONE THAT JUST HAPPENED, AND THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD PROVIDE STRICT GUIDE LINES FOR THE CASINO AND BUS OPERATORS. IS THAT TOO DIFFICULT FOR THE BN PEOPLE ?

Of course it's too difficult. It would mean they have to use their brains a teeny weeny bit, and that's a big no no.

  4. Even with the best intentions and enforcement, current brake technology is a constraining factor. Even in low gear, braking over an extended period of time renders the pads ineffective through overheating. This can be verified by an informal survey of 10 or so careful drivers after they have made the trip downhill. The solution may be to have a compulsory stop midway.
