I have lived with Umno. I have  worked with Umno and basked in the glory and achievements of Umno as if it was my own. I have even claimed Umno as my own. Umno made me into the Malay I had become - confident, independent and able to know for myself what I want of life and how to go about getting that life.... and for many Malays, Umno has also been responsible for what they have now become. Educated, informed and knowledgeable .....but we do not like what Umno has now become. 

Umno has become...a rent seeking, dedak infested, irresponsible, self indulgent entity totally without any saving grace and oblivious of the contempt and disgust it is now being held to by those upon whom they are dependent upon to be able to continue to hold government.   

The future of the Malays lies no longer with Umno. It lies in the ability of the democratic process to deliver to the people of Malaysia a responsible, accountable and courageous government able to meet the aspirations of all Malaysians. All things considered, we can lay claim to be a democratic country...the devil are in the details !!! The democratic process has been used and abused by Umno. 

When Umno had a two third majority in Parliament, the government they do can make a mockery of the democratic process when the political will they wield serves not the people's interest but their own. This, Umno has done without pause until GE 12 when it lost its two third majority in Parliament and then in GE 13, when it lost the popular vote and won government by a simple majority.

Today Umno still holds government via a much abused "democratic process" that favours the incumbent helped by copious amounts of dedak, rampant money politics done openly without fear of reprisals or punishments by government institutions who have been bought to do the biddings of their political masters. All this is part and parcel of the "democratic process" that any government can abuse of it so chooses. Umno has chosen to do so.

This "democratic process" favours Umno the incumbent. It has been granted to them by us, the Rakyats, many many times in the past. It is time we take back the "democratic process" to ensure our country, our people and our future will be in the image of what we want it to be : a responsible government with the courage to make One Malaysia a reality.   

We can do this tomorrow !!! 

You and me ...we can take this corrupt, dedak infested and arrogant Barisan Nasional Government, together with those two Idiots in Seri Perdana, together with all their cohorts and orang suruhan and anyone else that has been responsible for the deplorable state of out nation today....take them out of government and make them be responsible for all that they have done in the name of government. 

Tomorrow we can start the process of change. Tomorrow we can start to have hope again that the future we leave for our children will be sustainable and we can give them courage to face their future with knowledge that whatever that needs to be done to make right what Najib has made wrong during his regime in Putrajaya, will be done! 

Not in years, not in months...not even in days....in just 24 hours we can take back our country from thieves and robbers. We can take back our country from the very people who are responsible for the rot and decay of all the things that we once held sacred and indispensable in our lives : respect for each other, racial harmony, religious tolerance, grace and the courage to accept each other as our brothers and sisters. 

Seize the moment friends! It will never come again if we fail ourselves this time around.

Rais tells supreme council to seek court declaration on Umno’s ‘legality’

Alyaa Azhar . Rais Yatim has urged the Umno supreme council to seek a court declaration on whether it has violated its constitution by delaying its polls.

The Umno veteran said this when asked whether he would seek a court declaration on the matter.

"It's not my job to do it but I think the one qualified to do so would be the supreme council.

"Umno top leaders cannot keep quiet, they must get accurate legal guidance. If they do not do this, they would be seen as not taking the issue of the party's constitution seriously," he told Malaysiakini.

Rais said it was clear how Umno must hold its elections by today, April 19.

Umno had held its last party elections on October 19, 2013.

According to Clause 9.3 of the party’s constitution, the supreme council is required to hold its polls every three years, with a further extension of 18 months allowed under Clause 10.16.

Najib, in June 2015, announced that party's elections would be postponed, as Umno had to prepare for the general election.

'Second extension not possible'

Rais, meanwhile, said that an extension of 18 months was indeed allowed, but argued that second extension was not possible.

"The Registrar of Societies does not have the power to keep Umno registered without holding elections as stipulated under clause 10.

"This is important because the general election is coming, so it is better for Umno to seek a court declaration, because if others do it, the issue of locus standi will be raised.

"Umno can only go about their daily business once it gets a court declaration. If not, many members will question the legality of Umno."

Rais insisted that it should be the supreme council itself that should be seeking a court declaration.

"It doesn't look nice if normal members do it.

"Supreme council members should obtain legal guidance so that the registrar is given the powers to allow further delay in holding the party polls.

"But looking at the clause, I don't think this is possible as the registrar can only give an extension once," he said.

Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said in February that the party polls would be held on April 19, 2019, after obtaining approval from the ROS.

On Tuesday, former minister Rafidah Aziz took to Facebook to share a friend's legal point of view, which said that Umno cannot contest in the upcoming general election as it would be considered illegal after April 19.

She also said that the ROS had no power to allow another extension, and that Tengku Adnan had relied on the wrong set of laws to justify the postponement.

Nevertheless, Tengku Adnan insisted yesterday that Umno was not an illegal party, and assured its members that it will be able to contest in the 14th general election.

We cannot depend on the Umno Supreme Council to initiate reform because few of the members have the guts to speak up. In fact, the council has lately been transformed into a monologue theatre. But of course even a monologue can flop without good supporting players - fools, clowns, jesters, attendants and the oh-so- important flatterers. As far as these bit players are concerned, Umno's ideals and principles are not as important as their jobs. This keep-your-mouth- shut syndrome serves only to embolden the party leadership in its conceit, arrogance and haughtiness. A president has become a dictator. Woe are the Malays and Umno. What is to become of them? That is a question only Umno members can answer"

HUBRIS and ARROGANCE

Selamat Pagi Malaysia...6.18 am Monday and I woke up to the above comment by JT to one of my postings on Tun Mahahthir "Aku akan pergi tak lama lagi"......and this is my reply to his comment : 

"That may be so JT but I am beginning to worry what ANY government will do when they come into power for these simpletons are easy led down ANY garden path!"

If truth be told this matter has been playing on my mind since late Friday night and Sunday was one of those days when I spent more time thinking then writing. What was I thinking about?

Hubris.

Hubris is "excessive pride and self confidence". ...something that Umno has by the buckets full. In these last few weeks I see that hubris is not the sole prerogative of umno...those in Pakatan Harapan too have a claim to it. But I am getting ahead of myself here...let me go back to the first premise of this posting : I fear that those whose political future depends on the votes of these "simpletons" are treating these "simpletons" as "simpletons" and before you get all riled up by my reference to voters as "simpletons" let me include myself in as one of these "simpletons".....for you see that is how these Yang Berhormats and would be Yang Berhormats are treating us all...like "simpletons". 

Let me remind these YB's and would be YB's that WE the Rakyat are NOT simpletons. We have had over six decades of umno rule and we have had enough of it. We know the corruption, the dedak,the arrogance, the decadence and the hubris that now permeates umno at all levels. We know that once YOU are in government YOUR interest takes precedence over OURS. You YB's and would be YB's think that we Rakyat are fools when WE know that YOU are the Fools for thinking that we are FOOLS.....and this time around we the Rakyat are not going to turn the other cheek and be quiet.

Not me! 

I know that this will be an election too close to call by anybody. If you ask any rational umno member of umno if he thinks that umno "boleh menang?"...his answer all be "terlalu tipis"...ditto for Pakatan Harapan!

So it will be our votes that will decide...it will be "Peoples Power" that will make the difference. And how are these two nemesis treating the Rakyat who will decide their fate? Like simpletons.

Ponder this for now...for I have more to write about this....suffice for me to say now that we the Rakyat now give notice to Pakatan Harapan YB's and would be YB's....that we will not be quiet BEFORE and AFTER the election when we see Pakatan Harapan YB's and would be YB's treating us Rakyat as "simpletons!". Enough said for now.

Umno, PAS, MCA, Gerakan, MIC etc...helping each other to get ready for GE14.

FIGHT BACK.

Tun Dr Mahathir is in the fight of his life and for his life. Literally. The man is a Doctor and he, better then anyone else, understand that what he is now doing is not what a 92 year old man, however fit he may be, wants to do if he is to live to a ripe old age. 

At 92 he is in the fight of his life because nothing that he has done before in his life and everything that he has done before in his life till now, will count for much if he does not win this fight of his life. GE 14 is the Holy Grail of Tun's life. If he again becomes Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun will have the opportunity to make right all that has gone wrong in the twenty two years that he has been Prime Minister of Malaysia. Please note that I have taken pains to state "what has gone wrong in the twenty two years that he has been PM" not "what he has done wrong in the twenty two years that he has been PM".   

Some of you will say that Tun has failed as a prime minister because he consolidated too much power in his hands. How you can you say Tun has failed? Is that not what he set out to do and succeeded in doing? So he has not failed. He wanted that power in his hands so that he could proceed to do the things he wanted to do for Malaysia. Not for himself but for Malaysia. That others came along after him and abused that power for personal gain should be attributed to greed and the inability of these leaders to understand their responsibility to king and country...not to what Mahathir did. Mahathir has succeeded in everything he set out to do while he was PM...the devil are in the details...and that relates to whether what Tun succeeded so well in doing, is good of bad for Malaysia. Let history pass judgement on that. 

And that is why I say that Tun Dr Mahathir is in the fight of his life and is in the fight for his life. His wife knows this. His children knows this. And so they are quiet as Tun goes into battle against an Umno he once loved, against the very people he was once president of and against all that Mr and Mrs Idiot and their cohorts can, and will throw at him, to try and deny him victory in his last battle.

But why are we allowing this 92 year old man to fight our battle for us? If you do not know the answer to that questions now, then you will never know ever.

Let me begin by saying what is in many of our hearts.

There is a rampaging mad man in Seri Perdana that needs to be contained. There is a pox upon us all that needs to be lanced and then tended to. There is a dedak infested Ogre of immense evil that must be destroyed. There is now within our nation, within our government and within all that is Malaysian, a toxic virus that threatens the very foundation of all that is still left standing within our country after six decades of umno rule ...and the only thing of value and grace that is still left in Malaysia today, is it's people ....and Tun.

But Tun is not alone in his last battle. 

Without Lim Kit Siang he is alone. Without Pakatan Harapan he will not succeed. Without us...you and me....Tun knows that the battle against BN is lost even before it begins. And that is why I say that the only thing that is of value left in Malaysia today is us and Tun.

Now what are we against?

Vast wealth and power! Not policies, not good governance, not a well oiled, effective and capable BN electioneering organisation...but vast wealth and power. RM2.6 billion is a fraction of the vast wealth that the Idiot has. PDRM, the AG and the other government functionaries is power. But his power is not absolute and all his vast wealth cannot content with greed. Greed will eventually kill the very people it builds.

So what else? What are the other myths that surrounds Umno that we need to dismantle?

Myth 1 : The Malays will give their votes to Umno.

Outside the corridors of PWTC and in the rabid company of Jamal Jamban's red shirt, have you met decent Malays who will stand up and with hand on their hearts, tell all within hearing distance, that they are umno Malays? None will. In the rural areas where Umno says they have their vote banks...what has happened to FELDA  has  decimated umno's rural support so much so that any Mahathir's visit to any rural outpost, will bring these Malay out by the thousands to greet him. 

Myth 2. The Chinese will give their votes to BN.  
To ensure continuity so that they can go on doing business as usual it is said that the Chinese will give their votes to BN. Huh!. The Chinese have deserted MCA and Gerakan like the plague. MCA and Gerakan's loss is DAP 's gain. DAP is with PH.  

Myth 3. Islam will perish if Umno perish.
Perish that thought! The "dedaking" of PAS by umno has surely kill any hope that Umno and PAS has to use the Islam card as its crutch as they hobble their way towards GE14. After GE 14 PAS will once again be relegated to what it once was and will be for the foreseeable future - a political party consigned to the backwaters of the East Coast....that is if they do not lose even that "backwaters" in GE 14.  

Myth 4 : Pakatan Harapan is in turmoil. 
Tun Dr Mahathir, we are told, will not be able to hold PH together should PH wins GE 14. How long did it take to get PH together? PH is being denied registration by ROS. Does that refusal make PH stronger or weaker? Do you see any dissent within PH to the policies and GE14 manifesto they recently announced? To the appointment of Mahathir as PM designate? Discard those rantings by Najib and BN. All is good and well with PH. 

Myth 4 : PAS is the spoiler in GE 14. 
PAS going to bed with umno will ensure that the Malay votes will be split in Umno's favour. In truth it is PAS that have much to fear about the possibility of defeat in its own state - Kelantan. 

Myth 5 : Malaysians concerns for Inflation, corruption and job opportunities will secure PH victory. 
Do still come out to vote for PH  for victory is never certain until the final votes are tallied and secure. It will be a close election and every vote is needed to get PH across the finishing line and start the process of change. Change to the Malaysia we aspire to. Change for the people, by the people and of the people.

Finally there is one other thing that the Idiot and his gang dreads. One thing that they will not expect us to do after over six decades of lording it over us. They do not expect us to fight back! This we must do if PH is to win government. FIGHT BACK!

If there is any attempt to take away your right to cast your votes any way you want : FIGHT BACK.

If there is any attempt by BN to win back an election it is losing. FIGHT BACK.

If this umno led BN regime wants to impose any other form of government other that that decided by the majority of Malaysian through the vote they cast in GE 14....FIGHT BACK.

What is all this racial argument about Chinese being “allowed” to do business and the freedom to become rich in Malaysia. Whose permission do they need? BN government? The Malays? The Indians? Why? These people are Malaysians. They are free to conduct their business in Malaysia. If they are successful (become millionaires or billionaires) and contribute to society and pay their taxes, why the bashing now?

If the Malays who have been given tons of help by the government and are still lousy at running businesses (since Mahathir’s days) why grudge the Malaysian Chinese?
Admittedly, some Chinese businessmen had to slip envelopes under the table to get licences and certain favours. This is silent public knowledge. Right? There you are........corruption at every level. You allow it to happen. So stop blaming other people and playing the Victimisation games. It does hold anymore!

Get rid of anything that can or will link you to any questionable practices bordering on the corrupt and criminal during your time in public office. Anything that any incoming government can use to prosecute you, your department or ministry, your party...ensure that these "evidence" are got rid off safely and securely. 

Fear has started to invade the once arrogant umno leaders who though that nothing could take away political power from them. That nothing could take away what they already have had for over half a century.

Today the realities are changing. For umno it is no longer a search and rescue mission. That has been abandon. For umno it has turned into a recovery mission...trying to recover from 60 years of corruption, mismanagement and abuse of government. Trying to hold on to what they have in the "safe seats" where the rural Malays reside....trying to save face.

All that is left for umno is to wait for GE 14 ...an election they know they will lose. And while waiting they can try and come up with fanciful thoughts of whatever it is that they think they can do to hold on to political power ....declare an Emergency perhaps....hope that the alliance with those Towel Heads in PAS will be enough for them to hold on to government perhaps..... get rid of that Idiot perhaps and replace him with another Idiot perhaps....offer the presidency to Tun Dr Mahathir...to Anwar Ibrahim....many things to think about and yet so little time.

At the Edge of Madness

Yes I want Anwar Ibrahim to be free...I want corruption to stop. I want the abuse of political office, the rot within PDRM and other government functionaries to cease. I want the real murderers of Altantuya, Teoh Beng Hock, Kugan, Aminurasyid and the many others who have died in custody or at the hands of the authorities - I want all these injustices be righted. I want the religious mafia within Islam to be put in their proper place, their powers immediately curtailed and their prosecution and persecution of Muslims and non-Muslims to cease. I want a clean and fair election. I want to be able to go to East Malaysia as and when I please. I want the people of Malaysia to decide who they want to be their leader, who should govern and who should be punished should they do wrong. I want Judges to dispense justice, not do the bidding of their political masters...and these are, but just a few of my wants....but for now this is what we need to do

Anyone that will work with us for the change that we aspire to....anyone that will work towards the removal of a corrupt and lying PM, anyone that will give us their time and put in effort to work with us for this and more - (even if that time and effort that they put in is because what we want to do and what they want to do are, for a moment in time, the same)...then for that moment in time, we must seize their offer of help. 

Tun Mahathir has done that. Mahyuddin has done that. The time for recriminations and punishments for perceived or real wrongs and misdeeds will come....not only for Tun Mahathir but also for those among us who have also done wrong...and believe me there are a few of them even within our midst's!

For now I will trust Lim Kit Siang's judgement to stand together with Mahathir so that our aspirations for change will come sooner rather than later. For now I will even trust Mahathir's declaration that he too wants Najib to leave and for Umno to change for the better...for what else is there for me to cling to but the audacity of promises made by those who now lead us.   

There are times when we must make a choice. albeit in the moment, on what we need to do to archive what we want for ourselves, for Malaysia and for Malaysians. Ultimately, history will judge the right or wrong of your choice and of mine. I cannot wait for history to do that.

I have weigh the consequences and possible ramifications  of making a stand on the right and wrong of taking Mahathir at this word - that he too wants change...and, for now, I will not hold what he has done in the past against what he wants to do for Malaysia now and for us all, in the future. I will not forget but I will not hold it against Tun Mahathir and Mahyuddin for now

Look around you and see what is now happening to our country even as we argue about whether we want Mahathir with us in our fight to rid ourselves of this Najib and his wife. Ask yourself if we are stronger for having Mahathir on our side or are we weaker? Ask yourself if we can do with any help we can get from anybody to rid ourselves of a corrupt and arrogant government headed by Najib. And if you think we do,...then why not Mahathir? 

Have some faith in the ultimate goodness of men - however late in life that will come...and if it does not come and he no longer walks amongst us...then at least be grateful that by his deeds, Mahathir has shown remorse and tried to right a wrong that he might have had a hand in making happened some time back when he was indeed King of all that he surveyed.

Surely that alone is punishment enough for Mahathir...knowing that if he had done things in another way, then we will not have Malaysia endure a leader like Najib...a leader with no saving grace at all!

Like the alliance of Anwar, Kit Siang and Tok Guru - Pakatan Harapan has been and will always be for the foreseeable future, an alliance of convenience. So too will this alliance with Mahathir be an alliance of convenience. Live with it!

There is now the unmistakable odour of fear hanging menacingly over Najib Razak. Fear and the helplessness of knowing that his impending political demise is nigh. The sense of an ending is palpable. His waking hours are filled with dread because he no longer knows what else will be put onto the public domain that will hammer another nail into his coffin. His nights are filled with fears - not only of the unknown but also of the known for Najib knows that in the hands of others there are already hard, physical evidence to confirm his wrong doing and lies about 1MDB and the other misdeeds he has perpetrated while in office as prime minister. 

And what of Umno?  

UMNO is greed. UMNO is deceit. UMNO is dishonor. 

You Najib, you Zahid....all those in Umno....and even Mahathir, Anwar Ibrahim and Mahyuddin during their time in Umno.....you all have brought dishonour to Umno and shame to the Malays in the manner you conduct government and in the manner you conduct yourselves. And therein lies the problems of the Malays. Our leaders lead us astray. Our leaders are not the paragons of decency, honour that the Malays pride themselves to be. What arrogance for Umno to believe that without Umno the sun will not shine? Without Umno Allah will not bestow HIS blessing upon the Muslims in Malaysia? Without Umno you and I will not have food on our plate and shelter over our head? Huh! 

We are now at the Edge of Madness : Ultimately, history will judge the right or wrong of your choice and of mine. I cannot wait for history to do that.

Increasingly I am being asked...."Do you think that Najib will win the election this year". "Will there be an election at all?". "Will Mahathir be arrested before the election"....and always that refrain from so many of you out there......"What happens after PRU 14?" 

I bite my tongue before I answer these queries lest I say what is in my heart rather then what is in my head. My heart beats with the hope that "ini kali" the forces of good will triumph against the forces of evil. I want that despicable couple now living in Seri Perdana, and all those of their ilk, to be thrown into Sungai Buloh with or without a trial, so that they will understand how life is for Anwar Ibrahim and the many political opponents they have incarcerate....and how our lives have been changed for the worse by what they do in the name of government.  

But we cannot allow our hearts to rule our minds when we are talking about the future of our people and our nation. We have much to lose if we do. 

When compared to what Najib and his band of thieves now have to ensure their victory in the coming general elections, we have nothing on our side. Nothing much except the belief that what we are doing is the right thing.....but sometimes, doing the right thing is enough to win wars...what more an election.

You and me....we are not politicians. The term "political expediency" is not something we need to concern ourselves with. We will leave that to those who know best...people like Tun Dr Mahathir, Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang. Let us concern ourselves with issues that matters to us. 

Will there be an election? 

Or more to the point...will there be a clean, open and fair election? Let me ask you this : Has there ever been a fair elections from the time the British left us? I think not....so why should it start now?

YOU want it to start now because you want change! YOU want it to start now because you want your vote to count. YOU want it to start now because that is how elections should be conducted in a democracy....and Malaysia is a democracy is it not? 

Consider also, these truths. Every country differs from the other in the manner they do government and in the manner they choose a government. Malaysia included. So what can we expect in the coming general election which MUST be held in these next few months.

The first reality is this : Umno cannot afford to lose this election. They cannot afford to lose this election not because the Malays need Umno to champion their interest and not because Islam needs Umno to further it's cause. Umno cannot afford to lose this election because if they do, too many of them will lose the wealth that they have accumulated under Umno's regime and then they will go to jail for various offences committed in the name of public service and government....from corruption to treason. 

At this very moment, Umno is the dominant force within the BN government. Common sense will tell us that they will do all they can, legally and illegally, to make sure they will not lose the election. This is a no brainer....so I suggest we prepare ourself for this eventuality. 

Simply said...Umno is not going to play fair and this PRU 14 will not be a level playing field for everyone taking part in the election....as has been the case in every election held in our country.  

So what are we to do? 

We cannot have Pakatan Harapan representatives be disqualified or bought over by BN before, during or after the election by BN. So choose  principled candidates who will stay the course no matter what. Frogs are best left under the tempurungs.

Vote overwhelmingly to throw this toxic, corrupt and arrogant BN government out of office. Vote in numbers so large that no scam, no fraud perpetrated by BN, with the complicity of the Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya Malaysia, can change the results of PRU 14. We cannot hope to have Pakatan Harapan winning in any kawasan by the barest of margins because those margins can and will be manipulated to favour BN. Be the tidal wave that will sweep BN out. 

The rest will fall into place...the component parties within Pakatan Rakyat knows that "ini kali" is the real deal. If they cannot win with Tun Dr Mahathir, Anwar and Lim Kit Siang on side, then they can close shop and we have better resigned ourselves to another half century of this toxic Umno dominated regime. No "ifs" or "buts" about this.

We are too close to the elections for any horse trading to be done among the components parties of Pakatan Harapan, among any candidates who will stand against BN, about who will be PM, who will be in cabinet and for there to be any talk that will require Pakatan Harapan leaders to take their focus away from the Umno led BN. Focus. Focus. Focus.

A few more months....that is all the time we have left to make change possible. We have never had a better opportunity to do this then NOW. If only we had Anwar, aruah TGNA and the Lion of Jelutong with us....but we do not....so live with that reality.

The likelihood of toppling ruling Barisan Nasional is probably not there.

We can go into how racist and evil Dr Mahathir was and how the current predicament we are in was significantly attributed to him.

Question now is

Do we freaking want to bring down ruling Barisan Nasional?

If the answer to that question is yes.

The support and action we need to take is apparent.

Look.

We can't change the past.

But what we do today can begin a journey of change for the better.

For the next generation. 

Well. Possible.

And yes

Dr Mahathir won't be able to wield the powers he would like to have. For sure.
