This is the same Shahrizat whose family used many many millions of the rakyat money to buy condominiums and land in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and an expensive Mercedes

 for themselves. 

The same Shahrizat whose husband and children paid themselves many hundreds and thousands of ringgits monthly to manage a failed public funded cattle-rearing project.

The same Shahrizat whose husband has been charged for corruption in handling the RM250 million soft government loan meant to develop the cattle project. The money was  instead used to "develop" the living standards of himself and his family...who also happens, surprise surprise, to also be Shahrizat's family!

The same Shahrizat who had stepped down as a "responsible member of the cabinet" but who had also promptly accepted another appointment in the same government as advisor on women's affair to najib razak.

So this dignity that you speak of for the Bumiputra does not include what your family has done to Bumiputras? 

My dear Sharizat you have not grown old graciously. If you do not watch what you do in public and privately, you will find yourself in the likeness of the pig and the mule. The pig's greed you already have while the mule likeness becomes you with each passing day.

Do not worry about the dignity of the Malays. What you morons in umno do in the name of Malay dignity already burdens us Malays much too much each and every day.

Go look for ways and means to address your greed and avarice...but do not think yourself as the guardian of Malay dignity. Dr M's lawyer tells Shahrizat : M'sians not stupid as cows

A lawyer has told Wanita Umno chief Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, who classed the US' forfeiture lawsuit against 1MDB as foreign meddling, that Malaysians are not as stupid as cows.

"My dearest Shahrizat, the US Department of Justice's (DOJ) court forfeiture cause papers have nothing whatsoever to do with foreigners meddling in our beloved nation's internal affairs.

"In fact, it's to do with our own fraudsters meddling with foreign laws and regulations," said Haniff Khatri Abdulla in a Facebook post today.

"So, don't ever dare to think that we, the rakyat Malaysia, are as stupid as cows. In fact, even actual cows by now, should already know the actual truth," he added.

Haniff is representing Dr Mahathir Mohamad, former Batu Kawan Umno division vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan and former Langkawi Wanita Umno member Anina Saadudin, in their suit against Najib for alleged misconduct on the part of the prime minister involving strategic development fund 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

Shahrizat had stated the movement rejected all efforts by certain quarters to take the opportunity of using foreign powers, and the recent scandal involving alleged money laundering in 1MDB, to topple Malaysia's democratically elected government.

"The consequences of such tactics will get out of hand, just as what occurred to Iraq and Syria, which in the end not only invited conflict, but also prolonged the civil war," she had said yesterday.

In another Facebook post uploaded today, Haniff also questioned if Umno minister Ahmad Shabery Cheek should defend individuals named in DOJ lawsuit.

"Since when a Malaysian minister is entrusted to become a spokeperson for two Malaysians who were summoned abroad for (allegedly) acquiring illegal funds and assets of a company owned by the government?," asked the lawyer.

He was responding to the agriculture and agro-based industries minister who yesterday dismissed the DOJ's lawsuit against Prime Minister Najib Razak stepson Riza Shariz Abdul Aziz and Jho Low as a "normal matter".

Haniff urged the minister to read the lawsuit documents filed by US government against Riza and Low thoroughly.

"As a minister, shouldn't you ask if the assets, which DOJ applied to seize, were obtained through misappropration of 1MDB funds," he said.

The minister should instead ask how could the Malaysian government reclaim other assets in Malaysia or abroad that belonged to the duo, added Haniff.

"How could you defend the duo's right as though this is far more important than the right of Malaysians? Is this the attitude and behaviour expected from a minister ?" he asked.

DOJ has cracked down on alleged misappropriation of 1MDB funds, through the use of civil suits on July 20.

The DOJ claimed that more than US$3.5 billion had been diverted from 1MDB over the course of several years, to the benefit of several individuals including an unnamed high ranking public servant dubbed 'Malaysian Official 1'.

Tan Sri, Tan Sri, Tan Sri, Tan Sri, Tan Sri.......ad infinitum! Who is the "go to" couple for a Tan Sri title in KL?

Sometime during my formative teen years at MCKK, I remember being told by my History Teacher that J.W.W. Birch (the first British Resident in Perak) was speared to death while taking a bath at the river in Pasir Salak by Dato Maharajalela and Pandak Endut.

Birch was murdered because he treated the Malays badly and had no regard for their culture or traditions. While he outlawed slavery he kept Malay women slaves for his personal use. He appointed government officers to take over the collection of state taxes and revenues ...a task traditionally undertaken by the Malay Chiefs. And in all matters of state, except religion, Birch's advise to the sultan was to be acted upon.  

All this made the natives restless.  

I remembered the story of Birch well because at that time our Headmaster was the late N.J. Ryan...the last expatriate Headmaster of MCKK. I distinctively remember thinking ..."now who would murder Mr Ryan if he did not respect the custom and traditions of the Malays in MCKK?" 

Not that Mr Ryan would do anything like that for we all held him in reverence during our time at Kolet. And apart from Mr Ryan we also had a number of expatriate teachers in MCKK then ....and we held them all in high regard. Not only would we not kill those "whites" but we MCKK guys are well disciplined! Every time our Prefects told us to jump...we would respectfully ask, "How High Prefect!" 

So it occurred to me then, that the two Malay chiefs, Dato Maharajalela and Pandak Endut, must have been very very angry with the British Resident and very very and courageous to have murdered the British Resident. 

  

What would be its equivalent in these days? 

The natives...that's you and me...are certainly restless! 

We have already voted for Pakatan Rakyat in the last election but our right to choose our own government was taken away by "legal" gerry meandering with the eager participation of an Election Commission that closed one eye and shut the other to their responsibility of ensuring a clean, fair and open election. 

Our leader, Anwar Ibrahim, and many others in the opposition have been unfairly prosecuted and persecuted and some incarcerated.

And now, like the British Resident whose advise to the Sultan had to be acted upon, this Barsian Nasional government dominated by Umno, is doing to us all what the British were doing to the Malays, the Sultans and to the Malaya of old.

The British took our Tin and our Rubber for their use not ours. Umno is pillaging and plundering our national coffers for themselves.

The British imposed upon the Sultans their political will to their own advantage. Umno have not only imposed their political will upon the Sultans but the Sultanization of Umno leaders, their spouses and their cohorts begun many years back and are continuing today with a vengeance.The Rakyat have borne the brunt of what these Umno leaders are now doing to line their own pockets and to hold on to political power.  

And while the British did not interfere in the Malay religion, the BN government under Umno now takes Islam as a weapon of choice to "manage" the Muslims and "control" the non-Muslims for their own political advantage.    

In all things Malaysians, Umno's control through the government and all its functionaries is total and effectively complete. 

Today Umno's "advise" to the Agong and the Sultans must be acted upon - and this morning when I finally had a look at the Agong Birthday Honor's list...I ask myself if there is another Dato Maharajalela and a Pandak Endut among us all!

Oh yes Hoo-ah! AH! indeed! Remember those times when the Business Community and who else had the fulus lined up by the roadside in Pekan to dole out what they can afford to the Sultan to get their Datukship on the good Sultan's birthday? Well these days you have to be a bit more inventive to get a Tan Sri's.  Betraying a good friend would be a good start. Go ask Nalla and Ezam.  Keeping cows in Condos or abusing the Rakyat's millions that have been entrusted to you would also be another way to go!  For the business guys who want another "jalan" to a Tan Sri....there is that con guy from Kazakstan whose wife is the daughter of Flom the Flop!   They can tell you "how" and "how much". Hell if her step brother can make it big in Hollywood and rub shoulders with the likes of Leonardo Di Caprio... ....why not her and that "Sandhurst trained" husband of hers?  Those wanting a Tan Sri in the business community knows that they are the "go to" guys for a Tan Sri" ...and what is the going rate? If you use her step brother "investments" in Hollywood and New York as a yardstick...the going rate for a Tan Sri is a lot.... a hell of a lot!

Now I wonder what they have in store for Saiful!

Without much doubt Sharizat would be one of those individuals within Najib’s cabinet that would  pass muster. A hard working and conscientious Minister who did her work without much hype or self-promotion. We watch her patiently wait out her time before going against Rafidah to head Wanita UMNO  - and that to, we felt, was done without undue haste. Her time had come to lead Wanita and she accept that responsibility.

When she lost to Nurrul in Lembah Pantai – or Bangsar as we would all prefer to call it – our joy for a Pakatan Rakyat victory was tempered by commiseration for a gracious loser – Sharizat congratulated Nurrul and was never a sore loser! 

She was a breath of fresh air in Barisan Nasional. Not only with her ready smile but she also impressed us with her work ethics. Though I was quiet taken aback at the palatial home she had in Pantai – near Anwar’s old house. But still I was prepared to give her the benefit of my doubt – maybe her husband might have been a businessman of some means – who knows? And she was in the corporate world of business before she entered politics.

Imagine my disappointment when NFC came to light. 

Disappoint in the manner she dealt with the whole issue. Maybe too much was at stake – not only her political future but more crucial her family’s future was at stake and that possibility colored her judgement in her decision to feign ignorance at what was going on in NFC. And Sharizat decided that the best defence was DENY! DENY! DENY!

All this is now history. I doubt that even Sharizat would be able to recover from this obviously flawed ‘business opportunity’ that UMNO is so fond of offering to all of their ‘friends”. I would have though that Sharizat would have known better. That she would have said ‘NO”…but it would be hard to say “NO” when such a ‘business opportinity’ arises that can be construed to be God’s gift to you and your family.

And so it has now come to pass that another UMNO Minister bites the dust. Just as many other UMNO’s leaders have sullied themselves with the pursuit of great wealth, you Sharizat now join their less then august company as they contemplate life outside the corridors of power – which I think is also the general area that you now seem to be heading. 

The only thing that would differentiate you from the others is probably that you have least two RM10 million Condo to retire to. That is if this UMNO led Barisan Nasional government manages to hang on to power after the 13^th general election. If they do not, then I would think you would, at best, have to continue living in that Pantai home of yours – which is still not too bad a choice if you have enough left over for a bit of renovations here and there.

High Impact Project under the Ninth Malaysia Plan

We have received complaints regarding the generous soft loan of RM250 given to Agroscience Industries Sdn Bhd that belongs to Datuk Dr. Mohamad Salleh Ismail (Datuk Shahrizat Jalil’s husband) and confirmed by an industry insider. Datuk Salleh was the former head of Technology Park Malaysia (TPM) and the current Chairman of IJN. Based on the info received, National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd is very much controlled by family members (son and daughter) operating from a posh office at 3A01, Block A, Pusat Dagangan Phileo Damansara 1, No. 9, Jalan 16/11, Off Jalan Damansara.

The project was masterminded by Rosli Mai Lam the director of Lazuli Sendirian Berhad and also a partner in this project. Dr Rosli of Lazuli as known to the players in the industry only out to make MONEY by supplying cattle and other complementary supplies to anyone entering livestock industry in Malaysia. Most instances, almost everyone interested in the easy commissions on the supply of livestock from Australia, New Zealand or Mexico.

Based on our initial investigation, the official announcement was made by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin when he was Minister of MOA (Ministry of Agriculture).

Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said this was because beef price in the world market had increased, and without entering into contracts with beef-suppyling nations such as Australia, there would be no guarantee of continuous supply and stable price.

He said this was also in line with the government’s aim of increasing beef production to 40 per cent by 2015.

“I have suggested the setting up of a consortium to import cattle for farms in the country on a continuous basis.

“I have met the biggest Australian beef producer and supplier which is keen to collaborate with Malaysian beef suppliers,” he told reporters after opening the “Beef Production Industry Development” seminar here today.

Muhyiddin said the consortium would be set up in two months’ time and the ministry had proposed that National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd lead the consortium.

Objective of the National Feedlot Project: To meet the rising demand for meat, the development of the beef industry will be implemented through the establishment of theNational Feedlot Centre. Based in Gemas, the National Feedlot Centre is a joint project between Negeri Sembilan and the Federal Government through the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industry (MOA) and is expected to be instrumental in attaining the targeted 28% self-sufficiency level for beef production by 2010. Mandated as an integrator for the project, National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd is owned by Agroscience Industries Sdn Bhd with participation from the Government of Malaysia. Its commercial interest is the development of a planned, integrated and sustainable Malaysian beef industry through the development of the fully integrated livestock farming and beef production facility that manages the import of livestock, feedlotting, slaughtering, processing, packing and marketing of beef in Malaysia.

Our Chief I.O has gathered enough evidence to date and started on verification process to study the case in greater detail based on the initial lead given by the industry insider.

Of Sharizat, NFC, Mercedes Benzs and those damm Condos!

My knee jerk reaction to this issue would be similar to everyone else. Another project, another business opportunity for those with the right connections to the corridors of power in Putrajaya. Nudge nudge, wink  wink say no more! I mean if the auditor general says the project is in a mess – then it is as if GOD himself have spoken! Not Pakatan Rakyat, not Jinjang Joe, not Mat Ludah but this Auditor General who is almost, but not quiet, GOD himself - in as far as government spending is concern! 

Audit Mandate

2.2.    The Audit of government revenues is provided for in Section 6(a) of the Audit Act which reads "The Auditor General shall in his audit make such examination as he may deem necessary to ascertain whether all reasonable precautions have been taken to safeguard the collection and custody of public moneys or other moneys subject to his audit". Section 5 of the Audit Act also allows the Auditor General "to examine, enquire into and audit the accounts of the Federation in such manner as he may deem fit."

2.3.    The various revenue laws also contain provisions allowing the Auditor General free and unimpeded access to all financial records. For example, Section 138 (4) of the Income Tax Act, 1967 provides that "Nothing in this section shall prevent the production or disclosure of classified materials to the Auditor General (or to public officers under his direction and control) or the use of classified material by the Auditor General, to such an extent as is necessary or expedient for the proper exercise of the function of his office".

Translation: Auditor General found NFC to be in a ‘mess’.

And since then all that has been revealed by a very very  mischievous PKR and other ‘avenging angels’ indicates that there is some explaining to be done by NFC. Explaining has been done by NFC, but here is the problem:

Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we set out to deceive.

Common sense tells us that when you are in the cattle business you have no business to be in real estate. Get real lah. Cattle…real estate…real estate…cattle…where got connection? We are not interested that you have got a yield of 22.6% as against 2.75 % for the money invested in the condo. You were given that RM$250 million loan for a specific purpose.

The National Feedlot Centre which is located on an earmarked 5,000 acres of land in Gemas, Negeri Sembilan is the envisioned centre of production for beef and beef products. As a High Impact Project under the Ninth Malaysia Plan, National Feedlot Centre project will be instrumental in attaining the 40% self-sufficiency for beef production by 2010, as targeted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-based Industries.

National Feedlot Corporation Sdn Bhd (NFC) which been entrusted as the integrator of the project and will actively advance and promote the interests of the feedlot industry; develop environmental and animal welfare standards, quality assurance and training programs and working to keep feedlot operators abreast of emerging best management practices.

No mention of real estate, no mention of condos, no mention of Mercedes.So how?

The Rakyat are already upset that PDRM has gone into the ‘selesai’ business and Razak Baginda into the ‘Submarine’ business  - now you are going into the real estate business! If we continue to close one eye and shut the other then pretty soon UMNO might want to go into the ‘ada projek’ business – and where will it all end? Petronas going into the shipping business? Even Mahathir will not agree to that...or will he?   

The CEO said something about ‘social obligations’..careful there. Some smart aleck will ask you about that Mercedes purchase – hard to talk about social obligation when you buy a foreign car when you can buy Malaysian! So I suggest you keep away from those kind of claims.

Social responsibility is an ethical ideology or theory that an entity, be it an organization or individual, has an obligation to act to benefit society at large. Social responsibility is a duty every individual or organization has to perform so as to maintain a balance between the economy and the ecosystem. A trade-off always exists between economic development, in the material sense, and the welfare of the society and environment. Social responsibility means sustaining the equilibrium between the two. It pertains not only to business organizations but also to everyone whose any action impacts the environment.[1] This responsibility can be passive, by avoiding engaging in socially harmful acts, or active, by performing activities that directly advance social goals.

While we are on social obligations I think that employing family does not constitute doing something that would benefit society at large….so do not talk too much about you being able to persuade your children to work for NFC – unless they volunteer to work gratis.

As for the family sacrificing all for the sake of our nation – let me suggest something. Show them how much each and every member of your family has earned, their perks and all associated expenses. I am sure you must pay them market rates. That will shut up all those people who ask you what your family have really sacrificed for the nation. 

Suggested guideline : If any of your family earns more then what the Market will pay for those similarly qualified then just skip this part! …get my drift?

Tell that wife of yours not to be spooked about what PKR is doing – they are just scoring political points. Tell her Deny! Deny! Deny!

Agree with you that the RM$250 million is a loan not a grant. Suggest you provide details of loan repayment and interest charge – that will shut up those PKR guys! But you did say that there were some concessions given – I hope those concession are not too ‘generous’ or it will bring up charges of cronyism – maklumlah that wife of yours is in the cabinet. Now days you cannot be too careful.

Travelling expense of RM827,000. I agree that it is just 0.3 per  cent of project value  - very small lah – but you know lah these rakyat only see the many, many,  many zeros after the numbers – so better if you give them the full list of who went where and why. 

P.S make sure that the details do not show your family traveling as a group  - nanti they start making claims that trips made were not work related and instead are  ‘family orientated’ business trip. 

Remember that Toyo guy making the 'work related' trips to Disney Land with his family? Messy business!

Remember that business of Lingam traveling overseas with that legal guy? Messy business again! I can just see Sharizat nodding in agreement and saying “Correct! Correct! Correct!

Last but not least, you mentioned project viability. From my past experience (when I was operating that Burger Stall in Padang Brown in Penang), the best way to handle this is to open your books to independent auditors and they will prove you right (ahem....hopefully!). 

You said that big projects require at least 3 years to start making money – so camna…how long has NFC been in operation…and is it making money yet? If not do what I advise before...diam diam aja!

Tell Sharizat that being a former resident of Bangsar I will always listen to what she has to say before I decide on issues relating to her – but this time around she has told us that she knows nothing about this NFC thing. I hope you have not been keeping all this happenings within NFC away from her! Despite now knowing what we know about NFC she is keeping an arms length distance from it all…I hope the same in not happening in bed! 

But I would be the first to agree that you should not get Sharizat involve in your business dealings because people will say that you used her position to  get that RM250 million loan from the Barisan Government. People are so unkind.

I know that it does not look too good right now for you and NFC...and of course the family....but as long as Sharizat is in the cabinet...still got hope lah! Last time I checked she is still in...I think!  All the best.

Politician behaving badly.

I am not trying to save the world nor am I on a crusade to propagate Islam or Ketuanan Melayu. I am one of those people who wants to add my voice to the many that wants common sense and decency to come back into our lives. No doomsday pronouncement of racial or religious Armageddon! No more chest thumping by politicians drunk on power and arrogance intent upon annihilating anyone that stands in their way to gain power. Just a quiet voice that says enough is enough! 

Enough of politicians that behaves badly.

I was one of those living in Bangsar when Sharizat lost to Nurrul. While we cheered for Nurrul we were sorry for Sharizat because we knew then that she was the real deal! A hard working Minister that was the new face, hopefully of Wanita UMNO and for UMNO too. Now look what UMNO has done to her a few years later! Corrupt her to the very core of her Bumiputra challenged root. Sharizat….not taking responsibility for NFC is simply not on. You of all people, should have know better. You have enough common sense and judgement to know that this should be a “nolo contendere” situation – ask your hubby to bite the bullet and take his punishment as any responsible CEO should do when what he is CEO of a company that goes ‘kaput’. Then you Sharizat should do the only honorable thing – resign.   

But greed makes you blind to many things.  My only regret is that when it is your time to go, you will be remembered for two things and two things only. Your loss to Nurull and NFC. And you may ask why life is so unkind? Well Sharizat you have to lie in the bed that you make. No one else will!

In the aftermath of the general assembly where all the posturing by the Alpha UMNO’s male and females have been done accompanied by enough hot air to lift a dozen Goodyear blimp – all of them have now come down back to earth. We await the outpouring of contrition’s and rebukes to come from within UMNO itself for all the UMNO politician who had behaved badly during the assembly. Now that the general assembly is over it is time to mend the fences with the other people of Malaysia – the non-Malays of Malaysia! Every vote counts! And after what happened in 2008, every vote from the non –Malay will be needed to take UMNO, hopefully, over the finishing line. 

So folks wait for our Prime Minister to go into his '1Malaysia', 'Malaysia for All'  and his 'UMNO will safeguard the rights of every Malaysian' mode! So UMNO is for all Malaysians after all! Thank God for that!

What is worrying about politicians behaving badly is the cycle that they go into. In and out of their comfort zone just so they can score points with their peers – not with the voters but with their peers! Najib is comfortable in championing 1Malaysia because he has enough grey matter in between his ears to understand the need for 1Malaysia. Now as to why he goes off at a tangent and play up to an UMNO general assembly audience with a rabid display of an all out and out ultra Melayu is beyond my ability to understand. He is preaching to the converted! It is the non-Malays that he needs to get votes from. Why antagonize them?

But politicians will be politicians. They will do whatever they will have to do to go to politician heaven. And, until further notice, that will surely be Putrajaya! Jom kita gi!
