Bersih supporters at Hong Lim Park

SINGAPORE: About 100 supporters of Bersih 2.0 gathered
at Hong Lim Park on Saturday afternoon. Bersih 2.0 is a loose coalition of opposition political parties in Malaysia that is calling for free and fair elections. Bersih supporters turned up at Hong Lim Park in yellow tops, yellow being the colour of Bersih. They distributed yellow roses to passers-by. Organisers said there were no speeches or banners planned and the gathering was peaceful. The gathering was part of a global demonstration simultaneously planned for 30 cities in support of Bersih,
including in Australia, Japan, France, the United States,
United Kingdom, South Korea and Taiwan. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
