Marcos Baghdatis...a little upset!

Tennis commentator Sam Smith was quick to offer an explanation for Marcos Baghdatis's extraordinary outburst at the Australian Open. The Cypriot, who was runner-up in the 2006 Australian Open, literally hit breaking point during his clash with Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka on Wednesday night. After falling two sets down to the 21st seed, Baghdatis smashed his racquet into the ground seven times before it broke. But his courtside tantrum was far from over. He calmly handed the damaged racquet to the ball boy, before grabbing another one from his bag and giving it the same treatment. He repeated the process two more times, not even bothering to take the last two racquets out of their plastic wrapping. Smith quipped: ''Well that's just another night out at a Greek restaurant, isn't it? It's just racquets instead of plates.'' After losing the match in the fourth set, and being hit with a $US800 ($770) fine, it is unknown whether Baghdatis visited his favourite Melbourne watering hole and souvlaki joint, Stalactites, to cool off. Who knows? Maybe the racquet smashing could have morphed into a few shattered plates on the ground to finish the night off
