A son of late King Abdullah Abdulaziz Al Saud was the person who donated RM2.6 billion to Datuk Seri Najib Razak, said Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali as quoted by Sinchew Daily in an exclusive interview today.
Apandi however did not disclose the identity of the donor. The late Saudi king, who died in January last year, had nine sons and 10 daughters.
"We know his (the donor) name. He is not the late Saudi King but the son of the king. He is still alive," the country's top prosecutor was quoted by the Chinese-language paper in an exclusive interview.
He was also quoted as saying that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had obtained a statement from the donor as detailed in the anti-graft agency's report.
He added that the motive behind the donation was not important as such a donation was not illegal under Malaysian law.

There has always been one true maxim in as far as the truth is concern...TIME WILL DISCOVER THE TRUTH! It is out there somewhere....and if you tell the truth then you do not have to remember anything else.
If we were to compressed all that has happened, is happening and will happen with regards to that RM2.6 billion "donation" into a 24 hour time frame we can say that we are now in the final five minutes to midnight of that 24 hour cycle.
The closer it is to midnight...the closer is Najib to doom...to a political death.
Umno has spoken, Zahid has spoken and a host of "others" with vested interests in Najib's political survival has spoken. And now that numero uno legal authority of the Government - the attorney general - too has spoken...but none of them has been able to stop the clock from relentlessly ticking towards the truth.
For those seeking the truth now includes America, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Hong Kong. Singapore, the Middle East and of course Malaysians! Seeking the truth behind that RM2.6b donation has gone global!
In the murder of Altantuya, the court convicted Sirul and Azhar of her murder without finding out the motive for them to murder her and by so doing the court became complicit in hiding the truth behind Altantuya's murder.
History repeats itself here in the Rm2.6 donation of Najib. The AG has declared the motive behind the donation was not important as such a donation was not illegal under Malaysian law....how convenient of the AG to do so. Again with the hope of hiding the truth.
We wait and the truth will out....the clock is ticking it's way down to the last five minutes towards the truth...and if anything can doom Najib...this RM2.6 billion donation can!
