UMNO  Champion of Islam?...tell that to UTK !

Bagan Pinang has about 14,500 voters. Of this around 4,900 are postal voters made up mainly of the Military. This large block of postal voters will be a critical factor in deciding the outcome of this by-election.

Now you guys have got to follow me on this. Seriously! Can anyone tell me how can anyone (read UMNO here!) manipulate the postal votes? Do they switch boxes while the boxes are in transit? Are there no independent observers watching these ballot boxes while they are in transit – or in fact should they not be watched at all times?. The reason I am asking this is because if need be – then have a camera on each ballot box at all times and relay it live to anybody who wants to watch. Do whatever that needs to be done to ensure that there is no manipulation by Pakatan Rakyat or BN. Chain somebody to the Ballot box if that is what it takes to ensure that the results are credible!

Now let us say that UMNO wins all the Postal Votes. (I can just picture Najib nodding his head and quietly telling himself “It’s a done deal!”) – if that happens that means Pakatan Rakyat will have to get at least 7000 votes as against 2000 for Barisan from the balance of the voters to just get over the line and win. Very hard to do but not impossible. So can you see what Pakatan Rakyat is up against even before nomination day!

Bagan Pinang is an Umno stronghold situated within the Teluk Kemang parliamentary constituency, represented by PKR’s Datuk Kamarul Baharin Abbas. With all respect Dato’ for the sake of brevity,  I will , from now on refer to you as YBKB. Well YBKB  has got one hell of a job in front of him. He and Pakatan Rakyat will need all the help we can give them. Do not bother YBKB or Pakatan Rakyat by asking what you can do for them – think of something appropriate and just do it.

As for UMNO I know that they have been regulary asking for divine intervention and help in all the by election. Bagan Pinang included. We can take comfort in the fact that God does not take sides in politics despite Najib recently insisting that UMNO is truly an Islamic Party. He said :

“In Islam, poverty is akin to sacrilege and for the past 53 years, Umno had strived to eradicate poverty among the Muslims by opening Felda land schemes. Is this not demanded by Islam?” he said when attending a breaking of the fast at Felda Teloi Timor, here today.

“We need not carry the label ‘development with Islam’ because we have been championing the cause of Islam for a long time and had provided a prosperous life to Muslims because we don’t want the Muslims to be poor and without strength,”

He inadvertently forgot to mention two things

1)    That the very prosperous Muslims were UMNO members – more like the supreme council members, Ministers, Ketua Bahagians, Isa, Khir Toyo.....
2)     Yes UMNO profess to champion Islam but among UMNO politcians the esteem of Islam is profitable. It is following the principles of Islam that are troublesome. No corruption, no greed, no lies, no extra martial activities ….almost impossible for UMNO to not do!

And so we prepare ourself for another by-election while UMNO still goes on its merry way! When will they ever learn...

  1. Bro.,

This is the expected voting scenerio faced by Pakatan Rakyat. But what of the possible UMNO candidate? Isa Samad or his son Najib?

Isa Samad was MB when Najib was romoured cought for khalwat, and he ( Isa ) saved him.

So its pay-back time? Any truth?

Your friend, Anwar Ibrahim knows this, I think!

  2. They say that what happened in Vegas, stays in Vegas. With Najib I think what happened in Port Dickson will not go away..but i was not there, neither was Anwar...so until the 'celebrity' involved is prepared to do a 'kiss and tell'...nothing we can do but wait in hope that she does..

  3. A constituent of 14500 but with 4900 postal votes really left me flabbergasted. Are really 33% of the population there either are in the police and army forces?

  4. This is going to play like A Bridge To Far for Pakatan.

The only good thing is we are in a practically no-lose scenario.

All we need to do is slash BeeEnd punya majority down to claim the moral victory ala the BeeEnd when they came close with Manek Urai.

It will really set BeeEnd on fire if we pull the rabbit out of the hat though with a win!!!!

  6. I think the flwg scenario is possible :

Postal votes = 90% to BN
    Others:
    Malays = 50% to BN
    Non-Malays = 20% to BN

If the above forecast is true, UMNO/BN wins by a reduced majority. Morally UMNO/BN lost.If only 70% postal votes goes to UMNO/BN then it becomes B-END.

    What say you? Make sense?

  7. Re the postal votes I received this comment " And the millitary too is not without brain. There are strong Pakatan backers and sympatisers out there. This is manifested in Pahang Navy in Kuantan where PR WON the postal (Navy voters) in the 08 elections." i take note of what you think is possible . We wait and see.

  8. What's GOD gotta do with it??? Anytime someone evokes GOD in their discussion just means that someone has a pretty low esteem of one's self. GOD is for the birds and the bees, we homo sapiens got Pakatan and Humnos to worship.
