cakap cakap : Tun Dr Mahathir.

Many a word has been spoken, written and uttered in reverence and in anger of Tun Dr. Mahathir. Some have chastised Tun for what he has and has not done for Malaysia. Others have taken the low road and hantam Tun for Tun's "follies" : Putrajaya, privatization, Perwaja, Proton etc ....and of course, among others, for his most abject of failures, Najib son of Razak.

The truth of all this and more, we will have to leave to history to decide. Everyone, including me, have our opinion of this man, but, when all is said and done, we are all agreed that this good doctor, has a good wife! And when a man has a good wife, it mitigates his excesses, if any. The same, we are all agreed, cannot be said of Najib Razak......a failing that has damm and condemned the poor man to be forever described as "Rosmah's wife" or worse.

But enough of negativity.

For those of you who are unforgiving of Mahathir's past "misdeeds" and intends that "he shall pay" for these misdeeds or beg for forgiveness from the Rakyat for what he has done to them, I ask that you reflect on what it is that you are asking.

Why, when Lim Kit Siang can find it in his heart to stand with Mahathir in his fight to oust Najib, you cannot!

Why when many others who have suffered such harassment, physical and mental, on the orders of Mahathir...why are these same individuals now in support of Tun Mahathir for what he now wants to do to bring change in Umno and in the way politics and government are done in Malaysia?

And also ask yourself why there is now a realignment of loyalties of factions within Umno in support of what Tun Mahathir is now offering in place of Umno?

Tun Mahathir is now leading an organized entity that is methodically and meticulously putting together the bricks that will eventually imprison a very corrupt Najib Razak for all that he has done in the name of Umno and government.

And most pertinent of all, ask yourself why a 91-year-old man would want Umno and Malaysia to change....change from the way that he himself had wanted Umno and government to be when he was leading Umno and the government?

I would say that Tun Mahathir has now seen the error of his ways when he was Prime Minister. I would say that having seen the error of his ways he intends to do something about it. What he is trying to do does not always meet our expectations but he is trying....and that is all that we can ask of anyone....that having seen the error of their ways, they are trying to make amends.

Can we ask for more of any man?
