cakap cakap Kassim S.A. : Translating the Koran to Mandarin?

Did you notice that Malaysia is on a mega sale?

Everything is up on offer, mainly land in what used to be known as Persekutuan Tanah Melayu. And China is buying up whatever is available. It is outbidding everybody else, including Malaysian GLCs, for the mega projects.

In exchange, China is offering its weapons and protection to Malaysia.

Of course, this megasale to China is done in the spirit of "You hep me, I hep you" which the Chinese in Sarawak are very familiar with, much to the dismay of the US.

The Americans may not like it, but the long arm of their law will be incapacitated in its attempt to reach out and grab a Malaysian sought by the US Justice Dept. No, not because the Malaysian has diplomatic immunity, but because hudud will shorten the arm.

Already some Malaysians who are offended at being referred to as pendatang are proudly referring to themselves now as Overseas Chinese.

It would be a step in the right direction for Kelantan and Terengganu to encourage their mullahs to master Mandarin in view of the anticipated influx. Perhaps even converting the sekolah pondok to teach in Mandarin, including translating the Koran to Mandarin?

Hopefully, the Chinese investors will be reminded about the limitations of their investments.

No doubt it would amount to a reverse takeover, but China buying the Istana is not the same as the govt buying the "Big House" from Chan Wing in 1957 and now using it as the Royal Museum.

Some things are just not for sale. Like our sovereignty and dignity........
