KUANTAN: A 59-year-old
'Datuk' and his female companion escaped with light injuries after the
Lamborghini supercar they were travelling crashed along the East Coast
highway near the Kuantan Toll plaza on Wednesday.
The man suffered minor bruises while the 26 year old woman, who was
driving the vehicle, suffered injuries on her left hand in the 2.45pm
incident.
The duo received treatment at a private clinic in the state capital and
lodged a police report late Wednesday.
State public order and traffic chief Superintendent Mohd Noor Yusof Ali
said investigations revealed that the woman, who was driving from Kuala
Lumpur to Kuantan, lost control of the car and crashed it into the
divider.
"The driver claimed she lost control while trying to avoid crashing into
an animal which was crossing the road. It was drizzling at the time of
the accident," he said, adding police have recorded statements from the
driver and passenger to assist investigations.
