Another List for us to ponder on:

This list is common knowledge to a lot of Malaysians, especially those non-Malays (Chinese, Ibans, Kadazans, Orang Asli, Tamils, etc.) who have been racially discriminated against.

(1) Of the five major banks, only one is multi-racial, the rest are
      controlled by Malays.

(2) 99% of Petronas directors are Malays.

(3) 3% of Petronas employees are Chinese.

(4) 99% of 2000 Petronas gasoline stations are owned by Malays.

(5) 100% all contractors working under Petronas projects must be of
      Bumis status.

(6) 0% of non-Malay staff are legally required in Malay companies. But
there must be 30% Malay staffs in Chinese companies.

(7) 5% of all new intake for government police, nurses, army, are non
      -Malays.

(8) 2% is the present Chinese staff in Royal Malaysian Air Force
      (RMAF), a drop from 40% in 1960.

(9) 2% is the percentage of non-Malay government servants in
Putrajaya, but Malays make up 98%.

(10) 7% is the percentage of Chinese government servants in the entire
        government (in 2004); a drop from 30% in 1960.

(11) 95% of government contracts are given to Malays.

(12) 100% all business licensees are controlled by Malay government,
e..g. Taxi permits, Approved permits, etc.

(13) 80% of the Chinese rice millers in Kedah had to be sold to Malay
controlled Bernas in 1980s. Otherwise, life is made difficult for
        Chinese rice millers.

(14) 100 big companies set up, owned and managed by Chinese
Malaysians were taken over by government, and later managed by
Malays since 1970s, e.g. UTC, UMBC, MISC, Southern Bank
        etc..

(15) At least 10 Chinese owned bus companies (throughout Malaysia in
the past 40 years) had to be sold to MARA or other Malay
transport companies due to rejection by Malay authorities to
Chinese applications for bus routes and rejection for their
       applications for new buses..

(16) Two Chinese taxi drivers were barred from driving in Johor Larkin
bus station. There are about 30 taxi drivers and three were
Chinese in Oct. 2004. Spoiling taxi club properties was the reason
        given.

(17) 0 non-Malays are allowed to get shop lots in the new Muar bus
        station (Nov.. 2004).

(18) 8000 billion ringgit is the total amount the government channeled to

government agencies, Tabung Haji etc, through NEP over a 34
        years period.

(19) 48 Chinese primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(20) 144 Indian primary schools closed down from 1968 - 2000.

(21) 2637 Malay primary schools built from 1968 - 2000.

(22) 2.5% is government budget for Chinese primary schools. Indian
schools got only 1%, Malay schools got 96.5%.

(23) While a Chinese parent with RM1000 salary (monthly) cannot get
school textbook loan, a Malay parent with RM2000 salary is
        eligible.

(24) All 10 public university vice chancellors are Malays.

(25) 5% of the government universities' lecturers are of non-Malay
origins. This percentage has been reduced from about 70% in
      1965 to only 5% in 2004.

(26) Only 5% has been given to non-Malays for government
        scholarships in over 40 years.

(27) 0 Chinese or Indians were sent to Japan and Korea under the
       'Look East Policy.'

(28) 128 STPM Chinese top students could not get into the course to
which they aspired, i.e. Medicine (in 2004).

(29) 10% quotas are in place for non-Bumi students for MARA science
schools beginning in 2003, but only 7% are filled. Before that it
        was 100% Malays.

(30) 50 cases in which Chinese and Indian Malaysians are beaten up in
the National Service program in 2003.

(31) 25% of the Malaysian population was Chinese in 2004, a drop
       from 45% in 1957.

(32) 7% of the Malaysian population is Indian (2004), a drop from
       12% in 1957.

(33) 2 million Chinese Malaysians have emigrated in the past 40 years.

(34) 0.5 million Indian Malaysians have emigrated overseas.

(35) 3 millions Indonesians have migrated to Malaysia and become
        Malaysian citizens with Bumis status.

(36) 600,000 Chinese and Indian Malaysians with red IC were rejected
repeatedly when applying for citizenship in the past 40 years.
Perhaps 60% of them had already passed away due to old age.
This shows racism, based on how easily Indonesians got their
citizenships compared with the Chinese and Indians.

(37) 5% - 15% discount for a Malay to buy a house, regardless
whether the Malay is rich or poor.

(38) 2% is what new Chinese villages get, compared with 98% - what

        built in housing estates.

(43) 1 Catholic church in Shah Alam took 20 years to apply to have a

must look like a factory and not like a church. As of 2004 the
application still have not been approved.

       directors of non-Malay origin.

(46) 30 government produced TV dramas and films always showed
that the bad guys had Chinese faces, and the good guys had
Malay faces. You can check it out since 1970s. Recent years, this
has become less of a tendency.

(47) 10 times, at least, Malays (especially Umno) had threatened to
massacre the Chinese Malaysians using May 13, since 1969.

(48) 20 constituencies won by DAP would not get funds from the
government to develop. These Chinese majority constituencies
would be the last to be developed.

(49) 100 constituencies (parliaments and states) had been racially re
-delineated so Chinese votes were diluted for Chinese candidates.
This is one of the main reasons why DAP candidates have
consistently lost in elections since the 1970s. (update to 2008
         needed)

(50) Only 3 out of 12 human rights items are ratified by the Malaysian
        government since 1960.

(51) 0 - elimination of all forms of racial discrimination (UN Human
Rights) has not been ratified by Malaysian government since
      1960s.

(52) 20 reported cases whereby Malay ambulance attendances treated

       Unreported cases may be 200.

(54) 20 cases every year whereby Chinese drivers who accidentally
knocked down Malays were seriously assaulted or killed by
        Malays.

(55) 12% is what ASB/ASN got per annum while banks fixed deposits
are only about 3.5% per annum.

  1. These numbers may be true but it's half truth.

Lets just take the first item, the banks. The four banks are not directly own by the malays but the government. But what difference does it make of who owns the bank, does any malay get better interest rates and not sued for default payment. On the other hand, do the non-malay get better package if it's a non-malay bank. Same apply to foreign banks operating in this country. It's just a business enterprise seeking profits.

On the second, 3% of Petronas employees are chinese. Anybody wish to give statistics of employment at Shell, Exxon, and BP

On the third, 99% of 2000 Petronas dealers are malays. Care to show the total statistics for the gas station owners in the whole country.

Employment in government are malay majority. What's a statistical figure. The last I heard, the non-malay shun away from government job is because of the low pay. So the malays that work in the government must all be fools to accept such a low employment packages. No wonder like once TDM said, 90% of the tax are paid are by non-malays.

In a nutshell, the statistics can be use either way.

The question is, are we also to stoop that low like the BN politicians that skewed the facts and figures to suit their needs.

  2. reply to nxforget:

It's true that it depends on how we skew the data to support our argument. Maybe the purpose HH posted this fact because he wants us to see things from different angle.

For example hiring pattern between Petronas and other private corporation. We need to understand if the employment of private corporation reflects the country race ratio or not. Is there any reason there is much employment disparity between Malay, Indian, and Chinese? Certainly, if the disparity is outright racism then the government needs to take action towards companies that practice racism. However, if there are reasons for the employment disparity then the government needs to investigate. So, let's guess the reason for employment disparity:
    1. Most "local" Chinese company uses Mandarin for business communication
    2. Some companies deal with business from China; thus, prefer employees converse in Mandarin
    3. Most talented Malays work for big GLC (is that true? not sure)
    4. Outright racism that doesn't employ Indian/Malay/Chinese
    5. Quality of employees - Is there truly any different between a Malay/Chinese/Indian work performance? I don't know so it really needs to investigate. Maybe it's because the quality of education at local university? School system - Kebangsaan vs. Jenis?

Thus, above are legitimate questions we need to ask. Have BN or UMNO ever investigate the problem? Maybe NEP has reach it's maximum capacity on increasing the Malay economic wealth and job opportunity. Maybe the government needs to focus on improving the Tertiary education system. That's why we need a strong opposition party to provide us a different solution to our social problems! We can't allow UMNO blaming the Chinese for all the problems.

We need Pakatan to give us different solutions. Maybe DAP/PAS/PKR have a better plan to provide Malay employees more high pay jobs. Remember Anwar Ibrahim encourage Malay to learn Mandarin so he/she can work for big Chinese firm!

  3. We're all born and raised on this soil; thus, we're bind together to fight and protect each other. Nobody has the right to discriminate even the government. If there is outright discrimination against any other races as a Malaysian I'll fight for his/her rights! This is what we need to do as fellow Malaysian. We must fight for others even though they don't share the same skin color or religion.

  4. Actually, the answer is not like what nxforget says, to keep on comparing whats the right statistic and forever tracking and comparing and tracking and comparing.

The answer is to pass legislation FOREVER outlawing any type of race indication. Abolish to need to tick Chinese, Malay or Indian in anything, right from education, health, business, banking, motoring etc etc etc.

Any request to identify your race will be subject to immediate jail of 6 mths!

Maybe we can then get rid of this fixation with how many % and how many %.

Of course this would automatically mean race based political parties would b extinct immediately. :)

  6. This nation of ours was founded on the understanding that its Constitution is the supreme law of the land. The rule of law is the legitimate authority that arbitrates the dispute between two contending parties. Regardless of the truth and veracity of the statistics quoted, has anyone sued the Government for discrimation? If we believe in the Federal Constitution as the supreme law, then any aggrieved party has recourse in law. Forget about what you perceive the Courts to be, unless one has tested a case and been delivered a judgement, we have only ourselves to blame.

  7. Dear Sir (abdulhalimshah)

We can't use the Supreme law to protect us since most of our judges are corrupted too. What can we do to fight outright racism, corruption, etc? I'm a little sad with our country current situation. I'm actually contemplating to be another data points of Chinese Malaysian migrating to USA especially after reading General Muhammad Arshad Raji on politicians infiltrating the army.

  8. Sir,

After apartheid was defeated in Southern Africa, probably this is the only country left in the world that legalised these type of stuff.

Thought the list is not 100% accurate, it pretty much sums up correctly the state of affairs in this country.

I wonder what Nelson Mandela has to say if he comes to know about this?

We cannot trust the Judiciary, the Police and even our own Prime Minisiter - but we can trust ourself. I alway say - you are one but with me we are two...let us go forward!

  10. In Bentong, the church inside the Sekolah Menengah Katholik which was damaged in fire more than 15 years(or more) was only recently rebuilt. You may ask WHY?

The land titles(farming land) for some folks in Kg.Bukit Tinggi only received recently from the BN government. In every previous election, the land titles issues were used as "pancing undi" tool. In GE12 last year, the folks just don't care anymore and they all voted for the opposition. I heard that the land titles were "granded" long ago. Just that BN guys don't want to give them out.You may ask WHY now?

ALL BECAUSE OF POLITICAL TSUNAMI IN GE12.

    Have more tsunami.....much bigger one...pls

  12. Bro HH,

I have been agreeing with you on so many things, but I beg to differ on these!

How many Malay shoplots can you find in the big shopping complexs of KL such as Sungei Wang, Lot 10, KL Plaza, Pavillion, KLCC, Mid Valley and many more!

Hows about the employment in the Chinese co. or Chinese firm, do you think the Malays are paid at par in salary and bonus as to their chinese employees even with the same rank and experience? I have the experience and its a cheat by the Chinese employer!!!

I am against the greedy, arrogant
and selfish UMNO Leaders but I am not against the Malays. NEVER!

I have worked with the Chinese, and I know them. Whats their philosophy, whats their believe and whats their direct or indirect intention.

    I agree with you nxforget.

  13. Samsaimon..you and I know that this list was put together by a non-Malay to show that life has not been fair to them - what we are all agree upon is that there should not be any discrimination. Just take our own family - I will give preference to my own family before i feed others...those are the realities of life and we have to adjust to it.

  15. The truth is we malaysian are unfairly treated by the BN system. only the rakyat that have conection with them get their attention. Thats why malay feel chinese n indian unfairly treated them, chinese and indian feel the same about the malay. BN teached us to think like that for more than 50 yrs.
Itu pasal la ... all of us always thinks that we are not malaysian(talks only la may be, but inside thinks diff. ), we think base on our race.
we need to change!!!! brothers n sisters. change for better malaysian.

  16. The stats are there however one looks at it it has a story to tell!

If the Chinese joins the Gormen, he will ask firstly:
    1. Pay check?
    2. How far can I go?
    3. Can I make it?
    4. Do I have fair play?
    5. Are they going to treat me well?

    He thinks:
    1. Work on my own more money less restrictions!
    2. The harder I work the more money I get!
    3. Small business better then same pay every month! Makan Gaji!

So this thoughts and mind set is hard to change!

They feel donning the uniform as Military or Police amounts to being a BAD SON!

In ancient China the saying goes:
A good SON does not join the ARMY!

It happens then because the family needs the son to work on the farm, a hand short means a tougher life for the parents!

This is the mind set of the Chinese, born to make money and enjoy it!

The Indians also have reservations, the bad apples in the service created a bad image and this drove them from serving the gormen.

THE MALAYS TAKE UP ALL POSITIONS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT CONFIDENT OF EMPLOYMENT ELSE WHERE!

THEY ARE 2ND CLASS AND LOOSE OUT ON BRAIN POWER!TO MUCH BELACAN EATING AND TALKING!

THEY WANT EASY LIFE AND MANY MANY HOLIDAYS PER YEAR!

The racism attitude is always by the majority against the minority anywhere on earth! Except Africa, THE WHITES, they had the POWER of the GUN !

But the peoples power finally came into play and eradicated the "WHITE SUPREMACY FALLACY ONCE AND FOR ALL!"

THEY SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES AND HELD ON TO THEIR BELIEVES TO MAKE IT HAPPEN, AND VICTORY WAS SWEET.

NAJIB SAYS AND QUOTE ABOUT MENDELA...HE WILL NOT EVEN SMELL THE SHIT OF MENDELA...

THIS POTATO FELLOW GREW UP IN A LIFE OF LUXURY AND HAD A GOLDEN SPOON FROM DAY ONE...HE TALKS NONSENSE....HE BECAME A LEADER BY BEING SOMEBODY'S SON, MADE IT BECAUSE PEOPLE PITY HIM, HE BECAME A PM BECAUSE NOBODY ELSE COULD BE RELIED UPON TO SAFE GUARD THE STUPID MOUNTAIN OF CRONIES FULL OF SHIT PAST!
