Mara offers ‘second chance’ to Malaysian student in UK child porn case
PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian
student in London convicted of being in possession of extreme
pornographic images and videos of children will be given a chance to
continue his studies once he returns home.
Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) council member, Nazir Hussin Akhtar Hussin told mStar
that the offer was a second chance and a show of support for Imperial
College student Nur Fitri Azmeer Nordin, 23, to continue his education
in any Mara institution in Malaysia.
"Any individual who repents for a mistake should be given a second
chance after being punished especially among gifted students who can
become national assets," he said.
Nur Fitri, who studied Mathematics at Imperial College in London was
arrested for possessing 30,000 extreme child pornographic
materials.
Nur Fitri was busted in his bedroom in Queensborough Terrace where
they found him on his laptop, sitting next to a life-sized mannequin of a
boy.
He had 601 videos and images belonging to category A (abuse involving
penetrative sexual activity with children), and thousands of category B
and C material.
Govt may appeal sentence of convicted Mara student
Ministry of Rural and Regional Development may appeal to the Southwark Crown court in London for a reduced sentence.
ROMPIN: The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development will consider
whether to appeal to the Southwark Crown court in London to reduce the
sentence imposed on former Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) loan student Nur
Fitri Azmeer Nordin, 23.
Its minister, Mohd Shafie Apdal said this when commenting on the
London court’s decision to sentence Nur Fitri to five years in prison on
13 offences of possessing more than 30,000 pornographic images and
videos of children.
“We can appeal (to reduce the length of the sentence), the problem is
we are subjected to the prevailing laws of the country. We have to
respect the laws that other countries practise,” he told reporters after
attending the Mara programme with Rompin entrepreneurs in Kuala Rompin
here, today.

To say that Majlis Amnah Rakyat (MARA) and this idiot call Shafie Apdal are misguided is being too kind.
To call them stupid would be an insult to stupid people.
So I guess the only proper thing to do is to say that MARA and this Shafie idiot are doing what Umno and any other body under instructions from Umno will do :
And what they do is to make fools of themselves in the mistaken belief that they are warriors defending the Malays against all comers - even Malays who are already guilty "of being in possession of extreme pornographic images and videos of children"
Just stop and think for a minute.
MARA says this guy can be a national asset?
Aisehman we have a name for people like this....they are criminals of the worst kind preying on the most innocent and most vulnerable of our society. Some are locked up for life when they offend over and over again and all of them should be monitored for life so that they will never have an opportunity to act out their fantasies on any child!
The British Police arrested this guy because he had thousands of images of naked children, images of children being sexually abused by adults, images of children that only a sick and depraved human being will find sexually exciting.
He had 601 videos and images belonging to category A (abuse involving penetrative sexual activity with children)....
Read that part again...."involving penetrative sexual activity with children" - that means men having sex with children! Faham tak?
Are we so desperate that we will want to even think about rehabilitating this kind of human being in the hope that he will be a national assets?
Come lah Umno....there are already enough arsehole in Najib's cabinet and in Umno to keep each other's company - no need to add to that number.
As far as we are concern by the time this student grows up we intend to be rid of all the arseholes we now have in Umno...not to mention in the BN government too!
