WILL WE HAVE THE COURAGE TO SAY "NO" ?

“I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Mandela.

Courage comes in many forms and there will be need for plenty of it in the coming few weeks as the 13th general elections finally comes. The leaders of Pakatan Rakyat have plenty of it. Not because they have always have had courage in reserve as they battle for a fair and level playing field at each general election against Barisan Nasional but because without courage they could never be where they are today! On the cusps of taking government from Barisan Nasional.

As this UMNO led Barisan Nasional become more informed and more aware of their plight and the possibility of losing political power, what do you think they will do?

Najib may have pledge to peacefully transfer political power to Pakatan Rakyat should Barisan Nasional lose this general election - but Najib is one. UMNO is plenty.

Mahathir and Muhyiddin are enough to checkmate Najib. And then what will happen? The two of them will still need PDRM and the Army to come on side and this is something they will not know for sure will happen until they actually make their play for control of UMNO and from there, control of our country under whatever pretext they would care to conjure. If PDRM and the Army comes onto their side then it is a done deal.

This is where courage plays its part. Will Pakatan Rakyat leaders and all of us - will we have the courage to say "NO" to any attempts to seize political power after the general election has been fairly won by Pakatan Rakyat? I think our leaders in Pakatan Rakyat will have that courage. And if they have that courage than we too will have that courage -and together we all say "NO" And damm the consequences!

  2. Excellent article Sir. And in a similar vein I wish some of our Pakatan heads had the courage to say NO to the kataks like latest recruit Mat Taib aka Mat Tyson. Too many trojan horses have been hauled within PR walls and that is worrying.
