I think of this as from the dawn of pop, before heavily financed bands starting with the Beatles brought in more stylish, smoother sounds. You could hear individual instruments without sophisticated recording and transmission. Every other week, a novel sound would invade the pop charts. Hundreds of bands were only flashes in the pan, but they kept the world sane while the money-men looked for ever more profit from destruction and anguish.

I thought "Homburg" was by Procol Harum. I have to check out Small Faces version.
