Najib and BERSIH.

Try as I might to keep away from this BERSIH Rally it simply refuses to go away! And you might ask just why am I asking it to go away? Because just this once I am putting myself in Najib's place and trying to figure out what he will do.

First thing that came into my head was this George Carman comment which I thought described Najib's to a T: "He behaved like an ostrich and put his head in the sand. Therby exposing his thinking parts"....ouch! but so apt! Do you not think so?

Then this from Herbie Mann comes to mind " I always say, if you keep your head in the sand, you don't know where the kick's coming from" and a smile comes to my face as I picture DSAI placing a well timed kick at Najib's behind while his head is in the sand!
What about that son of Ibrahim? Well he would probably want to quote Shelly Morrison who said " If we sit by and become complacent and put our heads in the sand, we're complicit" and by this Ibrahim wants us to believe that Najib has so far been silent because he supports Perkasa and Pemuda UMNO in their endeavours to throw a spanner in what BERSIH wants.

AND WHAT DOES BERSIH WANTS?
FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS!

I think there is a simpler and more fundamental explaination for what Najib has choosen to do. Simply said "Najib does not have the balls to do what he has to do!" Najib will sit and wait. Sit and wait until he thinks he has come up with what he thinks is a fail safe option. Time and time again he has done this when he has to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea. Some of you have been unkind enough to refer to Najib as Mr Rosmah...which I presume to mean that he will take his instructions from Rosmah. And I see that some of you are nodding your head in agreement to what I am presuming...well I would prefer to think of Najib as doing an "ostrich" then listening to Rosmah. At least that way I can still think that he is not allowing that Rosmah to control him! Either way Najib is F#@ked.

For now Najib is watching how things develop. That BERSIH rally is still a few days away...about three weeks away. And three weeks in politics is a long long time. For one thing Muhyiddin might be King by then! So for now and until that time when he comes up with his "EUREKA" moment we can expect Najib to stand around and do nothing while Persaka and UMNO youth -Ibrahim Ali and KJ- milk the situation for all it is worth and get as much political mileage as they can out of the situation demi kepentingan Negara, Bangsa dan Ugama!

  1. If one wants to know how democratic a country is, just take a look at its Election Commission. One Man, One Vote.
Simple and Straight forward. No worries about distance, time or venue. In fact, some even impose a fine if one doesn't bother to vote. Turn up, login in or postal. Spoilt votes' okay too. That's maturity.
Malaysia has a long, long way to go. But BERSIH is a start. A good start.
    Cheers.
