Meaning, he is corrupt even by UMNO’s lax standards, assuming the party has any!

How to Close Those Bloody Chinese Public School.

To my UMNO and Perkasa friends. 

Let me share with you the best and most effective way to close down Chinese public school.

The best way is this :

"Memperkasakan dan meningkatkan mutu / kualiti Sekolah kebangsaan sehingga tiada lagi daripada kaum Cina sanggup hantar anak ke Sekolah Cina".

This is a fact proven statement. You can ask all Chinese parents. If their kids got offered to enrol in school like SMK Victoria Institution, SMK St John, SMK convent Bukit Nanas, SMK Penang Free school, all were great Sekolah Kebangsaan, they will NOT send their kids to Chinese school, and send them to these Primier high quality Sekolah kebangsaan instead. 

Based on my experience, in sungai petani, my school SMK ibrahim happens to a premier school. Next to us is a Chinese School, 10 minutes walk. After UPSR result is released, almost 90% of Chinese parents, whose kids scored 7As and 6As from SRJK (C), rushed to enrol their kids in SMK ibrahim. The PPD was full with Chinese parents, coming with Surat sokongan from MP, Datuk, Ketua kampung, forming long Q to appeal to have their Chinese primary kids enrolled to SMK ibrahim. The PPD officer told me, those who got their second choice, which is the Chinese school, would appeal and appeal to get their kids transfer to SMK ibrahim.

No offence to my friends who were from that Chinese school, which happens to be an extremely competitive and high quality SMJK too, producing brilliant graduates. But many first choice is still the premier SMK ibrahim.

Look at Singapore. The last Chinese secondary school, Nan Yang school was closed down in the 80s, not because Singaporean government wanted to close down Chinese School. It's just that no Chinese Singaporeans, despite their perceived chauvinistic behaviour, would enrol their children to Chinese School. They would do whatever they could to enrol their children to famous and high quality national schools, like Raffles etc.

The right way to close down Chinese school, which many argued to be the main cause of segregation, is never through the Indonesia's populist way, ie closing down for the sake of closing down.

If the whole idea is to promote unity and integrity, why not do it in a powerful and impactful way? Ie drastically improve the quality of SMK and make it the first choice of enrollment.

I know many of you would come up and tell me, there are already many good and premier Sekolah Kebangsaan, but why the Chinese still don't wanna enrol their kids there? 

NOT TRUE. 

If you have friends who works in these school or the PPD, ask them how headache it is for them to deal with us, the Kiasu Chinese parents who beg and beg them to enrol their children to these Premier Sekolah Kebangsaan, only failing which would make them enrol their kids to their next choice of best alternative, many which are Chinese school that still use Rotan to whip their kids.

We as a country must progress for the better, and not regress for superficial experimental policy.

I happen to be enrolled in the Chinese school for two weeks. My dad had to get his Datuk friend to write letters and Surat sokongan for me and brother, pull all his strings in Sungai Petani, so that we can get into SMK ibrahim. It was hell of an experience for my father because he told me there were so many Chinese parents who were Q-ing in PPd almost everyday in that first two weeks so that their children in that Chinese school can be transferred to the SMK ibrahim. For my school SMK ibrahim, it's a controlled premier school. PPD officer told my father, they will only take students with 7As Or 5As UPSR, or Tiket sukan, and on top of that only 10% non malay. He told my dad for great Sekolah sains, like SMS Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Sungai Petani with state of art facilities, only 5% Chinese.

'The worst thing I saw was a man getting his head hacked off in front of me,' 25-year-old former school teacher says.

A 25-year-old woman who joined the Islamic State during the Syrian uprising says she became disillusioned by the militant group's brutality and defected.

The woman, who calls herself Khadija, told CNN she grew up in Syria and was teaching elementary school when she began attending peaceful protests against President Bashar Assad.

But when the uprising unraveled into violence, she was lured to join the extremist group by a Tunisian man she met online. The man assured her the Islamic State was not a terrorist organization, but that the war necessitated violence.

"Everything around us was chaos," she said. "The regime, barrel bombs, strikes, the wounded, clinics, blood — you want to tear yourself away, to find something to run to. My problem was I ran away to something uglier.

"He would say, 'We are going to properly implement Islam. Right now we are in a state of war, a phase where we need to control the country, so we have to be harsh.'"

The woman's cousin was living in Raqqa with her husband — himself a member of the Islamic State — and invited her to join the al-Khansa brigade, an all-female police force that enforces the extremist group's rules for women.

"At the start, I was happy with my job. I felt that I had authority in the streets," she said. "But then I started to get scared, scared of my situation. I even started to be afraid of myself."

It was with al-Khansa that she witnessed the group's extreme violence firsthand, including a beheading.

"The worst thing I saw was a man getting his head hacked off in front of me," she said.

When her commander began pressuring her to marry him, her fear boiled over.

"The foreign fighters are very brutal with women, even the ones they marry," she said. "There were cases where the wife had to be taken to the emergency ward because of the violence, the sexual violence.

"So it was at this point, I said enough. After all that I had already seen and all the times I stayed silent, telling myself, 'We're at war, then it will all be rectified.'"

Khadija says she left the group last month — days before the U.S.-led coalition airstrikes began — and was smuggled across the border to Turkey, where her interview with CNN was conducted.

She's speaking out now, she says, because she wants to prevent women like her from joining the Islamic State militant group.

"I don't want anyone else to be duped by them," she said.

EBOLA : At the least, this is the most virulent and efficient strain of Ebola we’ve ever seen. At worst, we’re witnessing the onset of a deadly mutation anticipated and feared for almost four decades.

Why Ebola Virus is Worse Than Hiv/Aids by bishopz

No! We are not talking about another type of HIV/AIDS! And, sorry, it's not new; it's just not common, and most people have not heard about it. It is called Ebola Virus Disease! As at the time of writing this article, it is killing people in Liberia and Guinea. As at 1 October 2014 there have been a total of 7,493 suspected cases and 3,439  are reported dead. Sadly, this time, it is the worst form of the disease we have ever seen.

#1: It is extremely deadly.

And the chance of survival is almost zero, especially in Africa. The  Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is reported to be 70%. And death is almost certain if the patient starts bleeding, which is a "trademark" of this disease. From a medical point, any one that contracts this disease should be isolated --to wait for death! It is sad! It kills faster than AIDS, and in an equally dramatic way. And because of the mode of transmission, you can not bury dead patients in the usual way -- patients, dead or alive, are absolutely avoided! Dead bodies are equally infectious.

#2: It is almost incurable.

The problem is that there's no drug for treatment or vaccine for prevention yet. And this disease is caused by 4 different viruses. At least we have some drugs for HIV/AIDS patients, to help them live longer and better. The treatment we offer for Ebola Virus Disease is for the person to die better and more peacefully--just supportive. The vaccines we have can only prevent monkeys and mice from the disease! We are working on vaccines for humans. Antivirals do not work.

#3: It is easily contagious.

HIV/AIDS requires blood transmission or intimate contact for transmission; this disease requires contact with body . Transmission is by coming in contact with body fluids from diarrhea, vomitting, and bleeding. Doctors and medical staffs attending to the patients were protective wears from head to toe, making them look like astronauts heading for the moon! HIV is highest among commercial sex workers and gays; the people with the highest risk of this Ebola Viral Disease are medical workers, their families, and their friends. Hunters that come in contact with monkeys and bats, and marketers of bush-meats should be careful.

#4: It's symptoms are deceptive.

If you experience fever, headache, body pains, body weakness, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomitting, and abdominal pain, you may be thinking of malaria and typhoid fever. But it also could be Ebola Virus Disease. It also causes cough, sore throat, chest pain, difficulty in breathing, and red eye--like common cold! It is so deceptive! But the specific symptom is bleeding -- inside (internal bleeding) and outside the body (through ears, nose, anus, womanliness, and under the skin). So watch out for bleeding from everywhere!

#5: No definite way to protect yourself.

There's ABC of HIV/AIDS prevention. There are ways of preventing malaria. But preventing Ebola Virus Disease is not specific or clear-cut. You are advised to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, avoid contact with infected people (and their secretions and blood), and avoid contact with objects contaminated by infected people. Prevention is by hygiene!

Our nation today is bereft of any leader of any significance.

There have been occasions in my life when I have met people whom I have great affection for, some I have had great respect for and then are a few who have inspired and driven me to seek meaning and clarity as to the purpose and meaning of life and our individual role in the scheme of things as the world revolves around us. 

They do these things to me by their words, their deeds and the manner they chose to live their lives without giving much thought to those things that affects the lives of many others - greed, arrogance and always the bane that afflicts so many of us, the advancement of our ego self above all others.

These people that I talk about are few in numbers. Above all else and without exception they had the courage to stand up for their own convictions and yet in pursuing their own convictions they have not forgotten the needs and aspirations of the people they lead.

You will know by now that I am not speaking about any of the political leaders that we have in Malaysia today on both sides of the political divides. You will know that I do not speak about the religious leaders or traditional Malay rulers that we now have today. Nor am I speaking about those people who are captains of industry or in government and public service of which there are many....too many... and therein lies our misfortunes. 

Our nation today is bereft of any leader of any significance. I am not talking about scores of leaders, not of dozens not even of a few.....there is today not one leader within Malaysia that we Malaysians will all fall behind and say to each other that he/she has our interests at heart. None!    

There have been some in the past. Some who have inspired our people to think of themselves as Malaysians first and last and there have been some for whom we all had great affection and respect for because what they do have been for king,country and our people, but all that have been in the past. 

Today I only have contempt for our leaders and amongst them none are more deserving of our contempt than our political leaders. 

In Mahathir we have, without debate, the most senior of our political leaders. This is a man who was for twenty years the Prime Minister of our country and President of Umno and in that twenty two years his political dominance over all things Malaysians was total. He had parliament to do his bidding unquestionably and whatever dissent there was within Umno he had quelled in the same manner as he had quelled any dissent from without - with all the power within his control to ensure that his interest and his interest alone prevail. If anything will damm this man to posterity it will have to be his hubris and ignorance in thinking that eleven years after he has left office as Prime Minister he can still think himself important enough to decide who shall be Prime Minister of Malaysia. This week pompously he has withdrawn his support for Prime Minister's Najib government! 

The pity of it, for all of us, is that the rantings of someone like Mahathir can still rattle the office of our present Prime Minister, Najib Razak! That brings us to the question - what manner of a prime minister do we have today? 

To this I can only say that this is a prime minister truly deserving of our contempt in almost everything that he has done in and out of office! I will spare you the details as to why that contempt is deserved but suffice to say that this Prime Minister of ours is contemptuously referred to by many in Malaysia as being the wife of Rosmah Mansor - need I say more! A man without the courage to stand up to his wife. How then, many have asked, can he stand up to the demands and rigors of the office of the Prime Minister of our nation?

The leader of the opposition has been given the benefit of the doubt so many times by the people of Malaysia that he now believes that the people of Malaysia will continue to extend that benefit to him in perpetuity! Huh! Today Anwar Ibrahim is bruised, humiliated and totally devoid of any political capital that he can draw upon to fuel his political future. He has already been convicted of corruption and now of sodomy and is now waiting to serve some considerable time, again, incarcerated. Not if, but when and not for weeks but most probably  years! 

What does that leave us with? 

PAS and Hadi is anathema for a large sector of our population - Malays and Muslim included. What they preached and what they stand for is not of our times. Increasingly religion is becoming a personal choice that one makes mindful of the society that one lives in. That is why Kelantan will still be PAS for the foreseeable future but to make inroads politically elsewhere, PAS will need UMNO or Pakatan Rakyat - and to both UMNO and Pakatan Rakyat, PAS is a partner only in time of needs...and as they say in politics, a friend in need is no friend. 

To dismiss DAP in one sentence is rude but really...DAP is a Chinese party, is a Chinese party is a Chinese party! 

If you believe that DAP is a party for all Malaysian then you too must believe that PAS is for all!       

Sabah and Sarawak are in a world by themselves. If they chose to have political leaders like Taib Mahmud and Musa Aman who are they to quibble about the leaders in Semananjong? 

We are indeed bereft of leaders who will lead us out of this quagmire of greed, arrogance and hubris that our nation have sunk into. It is vicious circle that feeds upon itself and will eventually self destruct taking with it those who chose to be of that ilk.

Already we have begun to see the next generation of political leaders taking their place on both sides of the political divides. Too soon some of these new generation of political leaders have succumb to the fascination of materialism, factionalism and racial politics. Too soon the rigors and challenges of politic in Malaysia have demanded that they take the path less principled, and the path less challenging in their journey towards Putrajaya. And too soon we have seen party politics take precedence over national and our people interests.

Unfortunately our people do not have the fortitude nor the ability to make these political leaders do the right thing by our nation and our people.  From the very start it has been the intent of UMNO to divide and rule our nation and our people. Towards this end our education system has been compromised, our population re engineered and most if not all of our values and beliefs bent and manipulated to serve UMNO's interests! This is good for UMNO but not good for our nation and our people. 

The process of change starts with you and me. 

For me it was a gradual process from the time I started to understand that Pernas was competing with me for the same bumiputra business. From the time that I begun to understand that it is not enough to give business to a one race but you must also prepare that race to do business. It also took time for me to understand that when you want someone to be Malaysian you need to treat them as Malaysian. Over time all this came together and I understood the concept that to be Malaysians we all will demand that we be treated as Malaysians. 

This can never happen with the political leaders that we have today and sadly it will not happen in my life time. That is why many, including me, have chosen to leave Malaysia and live in places where we are able to live the lives that we want. What we want most is to be able to earn a decent living to the best of our abilities in order to provide for our family. We do not want race, religion and politics to come into the equation. This way our future is ours to make. 

Do not question why I did not stay in Malaysia to fight for my convictions. Life is too short to do that and at 67 years short is too confronting a period to think of anyone else but myself and my immediate family. But those of you who are still in Malaysia there is no time frame to dictate what you do. 

I suggest that you start from a given premise that is now a reality. The state of our nation today is not good. Once you have accepted this reality then you can start from ground negative and work towards what you personally can do to make a difference. 

Pakatan Rakyat cannot be a credible opposition and a government in waiting without your support and your vote. Do not allow them to think that that is a given...tell them that they have to work for it! The same goes for those who support Barisan Nasional. Tell them that politics is not the only way to right what is wrong with our country. Politics is not the only way to fight for justice, good governance, stop corruption and advance the cause of any religion and any race. There are other ways.....

The fight starts with the people of a country - it starts with us. A good education helps. Freedom to voice our opinion and demonstrate our support or opposition to issues helps. A free press is essential! The legal system must be independent and fearless in its defense for a just and fair society punishing those who offend without fear and favor. And above all democratic principles that we live by must be adhered to. 

These are the 'other ways' by which any society manages itself. Then and only then will political leaders be held accountable for their deeds in office and be called to account for any misdeeds! 

And will I return to Malaysia if all this are in place? I think not. Many Malaysian who left Malaysia will not return because life is good and better in the place we now call home than in the Malaysia we left behind. This is no boast...it is a reality. Our wish is for the privilege be granted for those we left behind.........no more, no less. 

   

cakap cakap....Monday morning.

Monday Early Morning.....I am grateful for life....grateful for all that I have and grateful that I am living life as I want to. I was awake early and ready for the day by 6 am.....ready for another day with no appointments, nobody to see, no chores left undone from yesterday, nothing that I have to do that I do not want to do....all my bills paid, a bit of money in reserve, enough food in the fridge for the week ahead....and the whole day ahead to do as I like...as I want. What bliss!

This last week had been difficult emotionally as I went through the last few days of a much beloved Uncle of mine and predictably it ended mercifully for him on Friday when he breath his last. That I had expected for him to leave us did not make it any easier for me......suffice to say that he had lived a good, honest and pious life - exactly as he wanted it to be....and that should give comfort to him in his final conscious moments on this Earth.

Early this morning too I told my daughter that I miss her so very much. We live in Melbourne and she and her family in Canada and I have not seen her for years. Most times i can live with that but sometimes, like this morning, not having her close by hits me where it hurts most....in my heart. But I know she has a life there now and with her family I know she will be alright. Terrina is a fighter and a survivor....I think the very image of me...though she is better looking!

This morning too I have already took out the washing that I put on last night and hung them out to dry. Wash the dishes left in the kitchen from last night, fed the cat and posted three items onto my blog.....work that I did last night and polished off this morning before posting them on to my blog and facebook.

I am mindful that one or two of you do want to read what I write over breakfast - I am grateful that yo do and I do not want to disappoint ......not if I can help it. 

I tried to find out more about the condition of Bianchi - the F1 Driver who was injured in the Grand Prix in Japan....but there is nothing much on the net about him except to tell us that his injuries were severe. I can only hope that all will be well with him over time...and my thoughts turn to Schumacher and his battle to recover from his injuries..... and I am grateful that I am in good health and well.  

It is now 9.30 am and I want to wake up my wife and get her to start her day. It will take about an hour to get her organized and I hope that by around 10.30 am we will be sitting together having breakfast......well actually it is her that is having breakfast and me keeping her company.....and then my day begins in earnest.

Maybe another article to write, watch the news on the telly....and I do want to go the city to go look for some outdoor furniture. Summer is almost here and I want to put the balcony of our apartment to good use this summer. 

Enough for now. Llife is good. I wish the same for those who read what I write....for those who don't...it does not really matter then.......does it?

A REAL MAYOR REFUSES TO REMOVE PORK IN THE SCHOOL CANTEEN AND EXPLAINS WHY.

Muslim parents demanded the abolition of pork in all the school canteens of Ath in Belgium, Marc Duvivier, the mayor of Ath, has refused, and the town clerk sent a note to all parents to explain why.

“Muslims must understand that they have to adapt to Belgium, its customs, its traditions, its way of life, because that's where they chose to immigrate.

They must understand that they have to integrate and learn to live in Belgium.

They must understand that it is for them to change their lifestyle, not the Belgians who so generously welcomed them.

They must understand that the Athois are neither racist nor xenophobic, they accepted many immigrants before Muslims (whereas the reverse is that Muslims do not accept non-Muslim foreigners on their soil).

That no more than other nations, the Belgians are not willing to give up their identity, their culture.

And if Belgium is a land of welcome, it's not Marc Duvivier that welcomes foreigners, but the Belgian people as a whole.

Finally, they must understand that in Belgium, with its Judeo-Christian roots, Christmas trees, churches and religious festivals, religion must remain in the private domain, the municipality of Ath was right to refuse any concessions to Islam and Sharia.

For Muslims that disagree with secularism and do not feel comfortable in Belgium, there are 57 beautiful Muslim countries in the world, most of them under-populated and ready to receive them with open halal arms in accordance with Shariah.

If you left your country for Belgium and not for other Muslim countries it is because you have considered that life is better in Belgium than elsewhere.

Ask yourself the question, just once: why is it better here in Belgium than where you come from? A canteen with pork is part of the answer.”
