cakap cakap...the Malays, Umno and Najib.

There was a time not so long ago when there were  only Malays who live in kampongs and those who don't. I was amongst those who don't. From the few and infrequent times I visited relatives living in kampongs what was obvious to me was that there was poverty amongst many of them.  What I took for granted in my life - electricity and running water was still not to be found in most kampongs then. Theirs was not a life I would want for myself what more wish it upon others.

Since then the nature of Malay society have changed.

There are still Malays living in Kampongs - the euphemism preferred by many to identify these Malays is "rural" but rural or kampong, these Malays still live in poverty.

The circumstances of their plight hints at political expediency.

Like the pendatangs that have swelled the electoral reserves in favor of Umno, the rural Malays votes is kept in Umno's safe deposit vault to be raided at will to replenish any shortfall in Umno's electoral  numbers - thus it is expedience for Umno to have that reserve there for the taking.

There may now be Felda, Risda and a host of government authorities whose responsibility it is to better the economic well being of the Malays in the rural areas but the thrust of government policy is to keep the Malays in the rural areas.

Half a century after Merdeka the lot of the rural Malays are as they were before Merdeka with some concessions to progress - electricity, running water and the inevitable Umno presence at ground level overseeing it's investment in ensuring that the rural Malays will continue to be the bulwark of Umno's political power base. And in this work Umno has been largely successful.

The Urban Malay interests in politics, in their social and economic well being has meant that the Malay society is no longer a single unified entity with two distinct factions - the rural Malays and the urban Malays. There is now a complex social structure within the Malay society that defies any attempt to define "Malay interests" in any political, social or economic sense.

The are Malay living in villages eking our a contentious living below the "poverty level". And then there are Malays who think a $1200 hair job as being affordable but a bit pricey.

There are Malays who, together with their working primate, still goes from coconut tree to coconut tree harvesting coconuts and then there are Malays who have 300 cars in their garage for no other reason then that they can afford to so do.

There are working class Malays. There are Malays who are land owners and then there are Malays who are capitalists. There are Malays who are paupers and there are Malays who are billionaires.

The gulf between the Malays who are rich and Malays who are not, is not only physical, emotional and political but more critical it has become a festering sore that threatens Malay unity of any kind for each have their own priorities that transcend race, religion and any sense of King and country.

There are now Malays activists battling other Malays on the social and economic front for more parity and equality for all Malays.

There are Malays battling the non-Malays in their attempt to take back from the "others" what they consider to belong to the Malays - but what they are mostly fighting for is really more money - whether that money comes from the Chinese or the Government is beside the point - just give them more money.

There are Malays who have taken to politics to do the same battle, albeit along ideological lines, colored by racial and religious overtones all to do with the Malays - and the shouting match as to who amongst them is more Malay are already loudly apparent. In Umno the darker the color of the Malay the louder they shout...and Umno has yet to feel the onslaught of the pendatangs who are yet to seek political representations of their own. Imagine what that will do to the "Malays" when that happens!

Wherever they are and whoever they may be, the Malays are no longer the people they once were when the British gave Malaya independence.

But all things considered, there are now Malays who already have within their grasps all the political might they may need, to do what they want for the Malays.

I speak about the Malays in Umno who have for so long declared themselves the Malay Champions but what they want to do for themselves comes first before what they want to do for the Malays. Sounds familiar?

Umno wants the Malays to control the rice trade - and it is done though in reality it is ONE Malay that controls the rice trade and the profits from a rice monopoly goes to that one Malay.

Umno wants the Malays to control the Bank, the insurance companies and the various multi-national corporation. And it is done but the Malays are the Malays from and in Umno together with their families and cronies. The Malay mass are not party to these "business opportunities".

This "what Umno wants Umno gets" theme is repeated across all that has been promised to the Malays when Ketuanan Melayu became the rallying cry of Umno on behalf (so they say) of the Malays. After Umno are done with taking what they want from what should be the Malay dues, what is left for the Malay mass are crumbs!

So who amongst the Malays do Umno now champion? Themselves?

That is the question that Umno now needs to address. The Malays know that political power are in their hands. The country leaders are Malays. Government policy favors the Malays. The education system and structure favors the Malays. The Malays lack for nothing that they need for economic advancement and political domination and yet what defines the Malays today is the irrelevance of the very political party that has made all this possible for the Malays - Umno!

Umno today is irrelevant for most Malays.

The reasons for its irrelevance is many but none more significance that the fact that Malays today join Umno for financial gain - not for King, not for country, race or religion. And so everything Umno do in government is directed towards that matalamat! And the position of its president reflects that too - he is the source of the gravy train from which all others within Umno partakes.

There have been far greater intrigues and factionalism within Umno in its past but all these intrigues and factionalism were contained within Umno. Tunku, Hussein Onn and Mahathir had their share of these "struggles" when they were leaders of Umno but these struggles were settled internally.

But not so the one that Najib is now facing.

Already the "costs"  of keeping himself as President of Umno and Prime Minister of Malaysia has run into the billions. These are sums beyond even Umno's ability to provide for and so it has to come from outside Umno. From our nation's treasury - public money, our money. And in sums that can no longer be ignored because it has already affected the economic state of our people, our nation and our future adversely.

And still it continues.

This is why the keeping of Najib as President of Umno and Prime Minister of Malaysia is no longer Umno's decision to make. It is ours - you and me...the public...the rakyat!

From the time that Najib entered politics as MB of Pahang at the age of 29 to the time he was appointed PM at the age of 56 his time in politics has always been one of "waiting for an accident to happen".

Many accidents have happened along the way but always there have been others who have been able to sweep things under the carpet and allowed Najib to continue his self destructive path ever upwards and upwards in Umno and in Malaysian politics - and none know this better than Mahathir himself!

And it has been so until now - now that he is Prime Minister.

As PM there is no one but himself to take care of himself. And he has failed, failed miserable from the time he took it upon himself to take Perak from Pakatan Rakyat after the 12th General election, failed to clear himself of being involved in the murder of Altantuya  and failed in many other ways   - and today he has failed again with 1MDB.

And in between Perak and 1MDB the most glaring failure that Najib had inflicted upon himself is his failure to understand that the people of Malaysia will not condone a Prime Minister who has failed them morally.

Umno had failed the Malays.

Najib had failed Umno

Najib has failed the people of Malaysia.

Many Malays have already abandon Umno and many more have abandon Najib.

Ultimately even those in Umno understands what defeat at the polls will bring upon them - political death. And even retards within Umno understands that whoever cannot bring them victory at the polls has to be done away with.

We already know Najib cannot bring victory for Umno in the coming polls. How long do we have to wait for that first significant flicker of recognition from within Umno to tell them the same thing?

Quickies : The innocence of the very young. All things must pass.

When I see the above image of a brother and sister together after the devastating earthquake in Nepal I remember a line my daughter send me some years back about two sisters.... the younger one trying to explain to her mother why she thinks  her big sister does love her very very much...."My sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and then she has to go out and buy herself some new ones!".......ahhh the innocence of the very very young.

Let us pray that the above brother and sister will soon regain the innocence of their childhood...soon, very very soon. All things must pass.

Imperial College student Nur Nordin has been jailed for possessing more than 30,000 images or videos of child pornography, some of which were the most extreme child porn photos Metropolitan Police Officers have ever seen.

Nordin, 23, of Queensborough Terrace, west London, arrived in the UK from Malaysia as a student at Imperial College last year.

When they searched his home in November 2014, police found Nordin with his laptop open, next to a life-size mannequin of a young boy.

He was later charged with possessing 1,156 banned videos and images of child pornography, a vile cache that was described as the most severe investigators have seen.

Anti Hysteria Kit : Which idiot from the Ministry of Education though it prudent to allocate RM189,000 of the Rakyat's money for this harebrained scheme?

KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 ― A public university is selling an anti-hysteria kit comprising everyday ... and formic acid for a whopping RM8,750 that | Malaysia | Malay Mail Online.

steadyaku47 comment:

Has it really come to this? A Malaysian University taking three years to develop an anti-hysteria kit with a RM189,000 grant from the Education Ministry under the Knowledge Transfer Programme?

And there are gullible members of the Malaysia public willing to spend RM8,750 to buy this anti-hysteria kit?

Which idiot from the Ministry of Education though it prudent to allocate RM189,000 of the Rakyat's money for this harebrained scheme? What were they thinking about? That the University will come up with some cutting edge technology that would make exorcism absolute? Was the University trying to dispel the theory that the accepted treatment of hysteria in women was once "more sex" or "pelvic massage" by a midwife if the women was unmarried? If they were, why? Is not more sex what most of us want? Male and female!

Or was it a direct instruction from the Minister himself during one of his "eureka" moments when he was a Malay before he became a Malaysian again?

Or, heavens forbid, did the instructions came from the very top - no lah not from the Prime Minister but from Seri Perdana? Has there not been talk about Rosmah dabbling in Black Magic?

Dear God what has become of my country?

But then the deed is done. In those three years of development, millions of ringgits must have already been spent - not only the Ministry of Education grant - but also the manpower and many hours of work devoted on the project.

Now how will the University and the Ministry of Education make this "Anti Hysteria Kit" project a commercial success? Let me list out the ways....

  • Directive to all Government Schools to have the proper kit to fight hysteria - thus confirming that the Ministry always have the best interest of the students at heart.

  • Directive to all government departments to have the proper kit to fight hysteria to ensure that these departments are ready for any mass hysteria outbreak - so that such outbreak will cause the minimum disruption to work.

I think you get the direction towards where I am going...there should be enough directives directed in all directions to ensure that anybody following these directives coming from the direction of the government, will follow those directives directly without fail.

That is already a few thousands "anti-hysteria kit" sold...all at full price because no discount when selling to the goverment...discount then goes into the pocket of u know who lah!

Of course there must be an anti-hysteria kit in Seri Perdana...and why not one in every government quarters paid for and/or subsidize generously by the government.

And while the government is at it.....why not one in every Istana, every Army vehicle, every Naval craft, every TUDM plane, every MAS plane...hell why not even in every Malaysian Embassy or High Commission anywhere in the world.

Of course all these purchases must be made through the sole agent appointed by the University! Now who the f**k will that sole agent be?

No need to say lah... u know and I know! Nudge nudge wink wink....must have right connection, must be Umno member, must be generous etc etc.

At the end of the day everyone is financially rewarded at the expense of the Rakyat.

Why?

Because nobody in their right mind would go and buy an anti hysteria kit that costs RM$8750 - but if the government buys it and have it installed in our office, our homes etc etc...no problems lah. So they Rakyat is left holding on to the bill lah!

So the University sells it's anti-hysteria kit and declares it to be a huge commercial success!

The Sole Agent cannot keep up with the demand. There is a long waiting list!

As the government is the purchaser the payment is secured. So if the payment is secured why not ask the buyer (also the government!) to put up a substantial up front deposit when placing their orders - even if they have to wait for years for delivery.

Why will the government do this?

The government will do this to help the Bumiputra Sole Agent with administration costs etc etc...and of course the sole agent can then pay any commission due to any politician up front too!

Then the Banks can come up with a scheme to assist any gullible members of the public (mostly Malays lah!) stupid enough to want to buy these anti-hysteria kit through an installment scheme payable over a decade or more - on the never never scheme with priority given to those in the rural areas - including Pekan!

Now we have not yet even explore the export potential of this product. Which export market are stupid enough to buy this kit? Here are a few leads the University might find worth following up on....just make sure you first apply for another allocation or grant from the Ministry of Education because these "research" involves trips abroad.

South Africa

Mass hysteria among students reported. In 1999 mass hysteria occurred at a high school in Umtata, Eastern Cape of South Africa with the outbreak displaying several features of mass hysteria with pseudo seizures.  For doctors, priests, parents and students, this was an unknown phenomenon. It generated a lot of anxiety.

Tanganyika laughter epidemic

The Tanganyika laughter epidemic of 1962 was an outbreak of mass hysteria occurring in or near the village of Kashasha on the western coast of Lake Victoria. It is possible that, at the start of the incident, a joke was told in a boarding school, and that this joke triggered a small group of students to start laughing. The laughter perpetuated itself, far transcending its original cause. The school from which the epidemic sprang was shut down; the children and parents transmitted it to the surrounding area. Other schools, Kashasha itself, and another village, comprising thousands of people, were all affected to some degree. Six to eighteen months after it started, the phenomenon died off. The following symptoms were reported on an equally massive scale as the reports of the laughter itself: pain, fainting, respiratory problems, rashes, and attacks of crying.

The Monkey Man of Delhi
Monkey Man.Jpg

In May 2001, reports began to circulate in the Indian capital New Delhi of a strange monkey-like creature that was appearing at night and attacking people. Eyewitness accounts were often inconsistent, but tended to describe the creature as about four feet (120 cm) tall, covered in thick black hair, with a metal helmet, metal claws, glowing red eyes and three buttons on its chest. Theories on the nature of the Monkey Man ranged from an avatar of a Hindu god, to an Indian version of Bigfoot, to a cyborg that could be deactivated by throwing water on the motherboard concealed under fur on its chest. Many people reported being scratched, and two (by some reports, three) people even died when they leapt from the tops of buildings or fell down stairwells in a panic caused by what they thought was the attacker. More than 15 people suffered from bruises, bites, and scratches.

Penis Panic
Condi-Size.Jpg

A penis panic is a mass hysteria event or panic in which male members of a population suddenly experience the belief that their genitals are getting smaller or disappearing entirely. Penis panics have occurred around the world, most notably in Africa and Asia. Local beliefs in many instances assert that such physical changes are often fatal. In cases where the fear of the penis being retracted is secondary to other conditions, psychological diagnosis and treatments are under development. It is becoming increasingly clear that these forms of mass hysteria are more common than previously thought. Injuries have occurred when stricken men have resorted to apparatus such as needles, hooks, fishing line, and shoe strings, to prevent the disappearance of their penises. An epidemic struck Singapore in 1967, resulting in thousands of reported cases. Government and medical officials alleviated the outbreak only by a massive campaign to reassure men of the anatomical impossibility of retraction together with a media blackout on the spread of the condition.

But seriously folks...Malaysia is a developed nation (so we are told over and over again by our government!)......let us try to do without too much of "third world" mentality. Tak malu ka?

This news item will be all over the globe by the time you sit down to have your nasi lemak at breakfast this morning. The professors in Harvard and Oxford will be having a hard time keeping a straight face while reading these kind of news from a country that claims that its University is on par with theirs. ....I myself am having a hard time writing this post thinking of what name the University will be putting to their anti-hysteria kit...the "Rosmah Bag" perhaps?

Jokes aside, this is a waste of public money by the Ministry of Education.

As far as the University is concerned...do they not have something better to do?

Try putting together a "Bomoh extermination kit"

And what will you put in that kit?

Just a hammer will do with instructions to use the hammer in a manner that will ensure that the Bomoh will not be able to trouble us all with his mumbo jumbo anymore!

And that same hammer should also be used on all those idiots in the University and the Ministry of Education who though that this anti-Hysteria kit is a good idea in the first place!

cakap cakap...Shah is angry.

steadyaku47 comment : The anger amongst many Malaysians over many issues are past boiling point. The following comment on the conversion of a child into Islam by a father is but one example of how many of us are just waiting for an opportunity to do what we can to rid our country of our many useless leaders. If you read what Shah writes you can feel his anger and his frustration at how things are for most ordinary Malaysians.
