cakap cakap....hussein talks to hussein.

Are you going to start blogging again

I do not know if I can stop writing. I have not blog for almost a week now and yet I write everyday....on pieces of paper, on my Mac in my diary....I write my thoughts, about the news coming out of K Hell, about my thoughts on what I am doing with steadyaku47. I write about anything that touches me. ...the only difference now is that I do not post what I write on my blog. For now steadyaku47 is on hold.

Why did you stop?

I wanted to monetise my blog. You guys work to earn money to live. I have always wanted to write for money....and these last 10 years have been my learning curve to understand what people want to read. This last year or so , I have begun to write what people want to read.  ...... and they have in turn stop by this blog to read what I write. To get them to continue to do so meant that I had to focus on working on steadyaku47 to the exclusion of everything else but the care of my wife. She always comes first....but there is nothing else I can do outside blogging if I am to maintain those number of clicks. And I thought if I can put in the effort to make this blog interesting enough for you guys to stop by, those who read what I write might understand my needs....not wants...just my needs. When I started a crowd funding initiative to raise some money for a second hand car because the 1997  C200 that I am now using is beginning to die on me...the response was ....no, there was no response to speak of, except for a handful of friends.

Why do you think people owe you a living?

Nobody owes me a living. Nobody! This is a win win situation. Blogging takes my time, requires my effort and a hell of a lot of thinking to make happen. And blogging costs money. Internet connections costs money. Printers require ink. Computers break down, my mobile costs money to run and when it breaks down, it costs money to repair. My car requires petrol and I know that if it breaks down now....it will be too expensive to repair.  I have enough for my needs as I am on a pension....I do not have money to spare to fund my blog work.

What do you want?

This is my thinking. 30K to 40 K people click onto my blog daily. I imagine that if they each donate $10 ringgit to steadyaku47....do you think that is asking for too much? ...even if ten percent of them do so .....that would assist me in being able to blog without having to worry about money.

And if they don't donate?

There is no such thing as a free meal....even if reading blogs and Facebook are free on the NET. I have done my work for almost a decade now....and some of you have been reading what I write for years....tak boleh derma some Ringgit ka? And not only for me....Sarawak Report, Mariam Mokhtar and all those other bloggers too need donations. This is not about me being "malu" to ask for help...how to "malu" when you know that you have been blogging for almost a decade...and you update your blog almost on a daily basis.....aiyah banyak kerja ma. And what I ask is not for a new BMW or ANY new car....just an old second hand car that will not break down.

So what happens now?

I need to build up a decent reserve so that I do not have to worry about money when I am blogging. What ever you can afford to tolong...please do so via the pay pal donate button on the top right hand corner of this blog first page.

I am not saying that if you do not donate I will not write...I will always have to write. On my pension I cannot afford to blog the way I do now.....it asks too much of me without any returns. I will take a sabbatical for a while to look at my options.....and as always...I will share whatever is going on in my head with you via this blog or FB.....meanwhile I wait and see if there are enough of our friends out there who care enough to take the trouble to send me a few dollars to keep this blog solvent.....and if you don't...apa nak buat? Such is life.

Petra you go and do what you have to do to earn a living. Leave me alone and I will leave you alone.

This evening, just past 11.52 PM I saw a note from Daniel Martin Sebastian (Danny) on my FB as follows :

JAIS gives Lim Kit Siang a tight slap
DAP appears bent on declaring war against anything Islam and yesterday they received a tight slap in the sermons all over Selangor under the directive of JAIS, which expressed support for Hadi’s Syariah Amendment Bill. This is probably the biggest blow so far and it is not yet clear whether DAP

steadyaku47 comment :

It has been a long long time since I last spoke to, or had any communication with Petra. Why that is so is for me to know and for you to find out....but suffice to say that it has been a long long time since I last clicked on Malaysia Today. The only time I had talked about Petra with anyone was a few months back when Clare Rewcastle of Sarawak Report called me and Petra was mentioned briefly....very briefly.

This evening when I got Daniels note on my FB page, I clicked on the link that Daniel sent me. It took me to a posting in Malaysia Today and among other things Petra wrote this :

Talking about terrorist attacks, Najib Tun Razak’s Hari Raya open house saw tight security yesterday against the backdrop of the threat from IS terrorists — who warned that the Prime Minister and his Cabinet are targets for assassination. The security was not as tight as those of foreign leaders, though (especially from the west).

Nevertheless, these new security measures upset Australian citizen Hussein Abdul Hamid, cousin to the late Tun Endon Mahmood Ambak, wife of ex-Prime Minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi — who mocked Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak in his blog yesterday.

Hussein, who blogs as steadyaku47, felt that the tight security should not be imposed for Hari Raya open houses and those 75,000 people yesterday should have just been allowed to come in and out at will, even if it results in the death of the Prime Minister.

Well, let us see whether Lim Guan Eng is going to do away with his security next Chinese New Year and allow every man and his dog free access to his residence. It would be funny if Guan Eng gets blown up into smithereens by a bomb just so that he can make Hussein Hamid who lives in Australia happy.

I suppose if Guan Eng follows what Hussein Hamid wants and they do away with the security, and Guan Eng gets killed, then he would really be a clown and that picture below would be most apt.
lim_guan_eng_clown

As I have said, it has been a long long time since I last read anything Petra writes.  I do not want to comment, debate or question the truth or untruth of what Petra writes and nor do I want to ask Petra why he writes them....but when he writes what I know is an untruth about  me....I will tell him so.

Petra, yes I am a cousin to aruah Endon. Her father and my mother are brother and sister....and my father and mother are first cousins....so my ties with aruah Endon is doubly strong!

You say that I mocked the Prime Minister in my blog.

I do not mock Prime Minister Najib Razak,

When you call some one a moron, an imbecile, a thief and an idiot of the first degree, a queen control pansy.......you do not mock them.

You are insulting them and putting them among the dregs of society that are past redemption, past any hope of being forgiven by many and certainly beneath my contempt and my disgust.

And all this I have said of Najib and his wife many times over in my blog steadyaku47 - which I am sure you do not read.

And one other thing Petra...I am NOT an Australian Citizen. I have a Malaysian Passport No: 18905624 that states under Warganegara : Malaysian. In that Passport is a Class BB 155 Australian Visa:

The Resident Return visa (subclasses 155 and 157) is for current or former Australian permanent residents and former Australian citizens who want to travel overseas and return to Australia as permanent residents.
The Resident Return visa will let you keep or regain your status as an Australian permanent resident.
Only Australian citizens have an automatic right of entry to Australia. All non-citizens need a visa that allows them to enter and remain in Australia.

I am a Malaysian Citizen with permanent Residence status living in Melbourne by choice.

As to whether Guan Eng will or will not do what I want....I have never met Guan Eng but I have the greatest of respect for this Chinese who took it upon himself, many many years ago, to assist an underage Malay schoolgirl who was raped by a Malay Chief Minister of Malacca by the name of Rahim Thambi Chik.....and for which good deed he was incarcerated by a Malay led government....an act that has shamed me and countless other Malays ever since.

And yes...that respect for Lim Guan Eng still lingers on until today.

You go and do what you have to do to earn a living Petra....leave me alone and I will leave you alone. Salam.

cakap cakap....gout, hernia, high cholesterol, moderate kidney disease and the need for further investigation of cardiovascular risks factors...my cup runneth over!

The further you are away from home, the more your heart aches for it and no matter what your age, there will always be times when you want to have your parents by your side. This afternoon was one of those days.

The pain from what I thought was my Hernia in my groin area and Gout in my right toe was confirmed today by the doctor from the results of the blood test and scans I had a week ago.

And that was not the only thing not right with me.

My cholesterol was abnormally high and  more worrying for me was what the doctor said about my kidney....she said there was something not right with it....renal failure was mentioned in the same breath as "over time".....not too comforting. Central to my future well being was what I eat...my body is my temple....and mention was made of no meat, no seafood, no fat...and at least 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day. Medication will be provided to manage the state of my kidney and gout - all of them to "manage" not cure or prevent what was happening to me.

The hernia needs more work...she tells me that my bile and intestines were protruding from the muscle wall of my stomach and there was that possibility that they would get entangled with each other and then there will be the need for invasive action...an operation...not to mention the intense pain that  I will be subjected to until that operation and my recovery from it all will be over. She will arrange treatment to start by a specialist at St Vincent asap.

I told her about the dizziness spells that I have been having and the dull pain down my right shoulder that centers around my armpit. She asked if that was accompanied by shortness of breath...I said no...she mention possible problems with my heart and she insisted on an ECG to provide her with the necessary data to make an informed decision.

Now, while all this was going on, my heart was thudding along at a 100 miles an hour...but outwardly I kept as calm and as composed as I could....steady aja!

She then asked me to stand and went through some physical exercises with me to measure my ability to respond to her commands and suggestions...I went through them with no problems ...except that when she asked me to sit down I would have toppled over had she not caught me on time and then guided me to my seat.
I was told that I needed a brain scan and a kidney scan.....to be done soon...very very soon. We parted with her suggestion that she wants to meet with me as soon as the Kidney and brain scan and the ECG was done.

The ride home alone was done with so many images, thoughts and questions running through my head. They came not in one mad rush...but one by one...each addresses by me mentally...answered to my own satisfaction...before the next question came into my mind....and so no and so on and so on....until I realized that I was already pulling into my parking spot at the apartment block I lived in.

It is now early evening and I have had time to ponder a little, the significance of what the doctor had told me earlier during the day...and of course when news of these nature are presented to you it has the effect of making you focus your thoughts on what are the important things in one's life and what are not.

My first promise to myself was to renew my commitment to care for my wife and I will write about that and more...much more maybe later tonight. It is 6.42 PM now and I must take the second of my daily shower and think about dinner for my wife....that alone will take my mind of what ails me.

The Last of the Onn's?

To the Chinese it is popular adage that family wealth never lasts more then three generations. The first generation will start the business. The second generation will consolidate it. And when the third generation comes the wealth goes.

How close a parallel is this to reality with the Onn family. Dato Onn started UMNO and begun his entry into Malaysian politics. The legacy he left was ably shouldered by his son Tun Hussein Onn – one of our most revered Malay leaders whose service to our nation was cut short by ill health. And now comes his third generation ..this Din guy…and all is lost.

In this third generation of the Onns manifested in this Din guy there is none of the moral fiber that his grandfather had. None of the disdain for the trappings of position and power that his grandfather eschewed. His grandfather was brave enough to stand up for his beliefs against the British without the need of a keris. His grandfather was focused in wanting to “betulkan” the Malays and yet he left UMNO because UMNO would not open its doors to the non Malays! Truly this Onn Jaafar was a man who loved the Malays as anyone would loved one’s own people and yet understood the need for all the other races to be one under UMNO. How could you not respect and revere this Dato' Onn?

Then Dato Onn’s son and this Din’s father became Prime Minister of Malaysia. Hussein Onn’s as the eldest son of Dato Onn was acutely aware of the legacy that preceded him – that his father was a Menteri Besar of Johor and the first President and founder of UMNO. This quiet man is much respected and loved by all Malaysians and we are better for having him as our Prime Minister. Who could forget his courage to prosecute Harun Idris for corruption at the risk of factionalizing the Malays? He was fearless in his fight against corruption and money politics in UMNO.

And then along come this Din guy!

Totally unable to understand the legacy he was born into. While his grandfather had resigned because UMNO would not admit non Malays into the party, Din took it upon himself to arrogantly wave the keris in a cheap and garish display in support of Ketuanan Melayu when he was UMNO youth’s leader. While his father Hussein Onn stood for doing the right thing even at the expense of Malay unity (as in his pursuing of Dato Harun Idris for corruption) this Din is the personification of an idiot throwing his Ministerial weight around to show people that he is in charge and is too ready to use the ISA and the Police to his own political advantage.

An arrogant Malay with power to boot! Power is vested in him temporarily by those who have voted him in. Power that will no longer be there once he is out of office. These are the kind of UMNO “leaders” who trade on the legacies of their families and having profited from this legacy, proceeded to shame not only his family legacy but also us Malays! This is one Malay we can do without. Let us see where his loyalties lies when push comes to shove. When he has to make choices to ensure his political survival. If the past is any reference I hold little hope for his ability to further his family legacy in the manner that Dato Onn and Hussein Onn would have wished. I hope that we will be rid of this Din when our country elects those whom we want to lead us. This Din may truly be the last of the Onn’s during my lifetime.
