1. Jakim menasihatkan umat Islam supaya tidak memakai pakaian atau perhiasan yang menyamai Santa Claus kerana ia bercanggah dengan seruan Nabi Muhammad saw.
2. Justeru, Jakim melarang umat Islam meraikan perayaan Krismas yang disambut penganut Kristian setiap kali menjelang 25 Disember dengan ada di antara orang Islam memakai pakaian tersebut. Hukumnya adalah haram kerana ia boleh mempengaruhi dan memesongkan akidah seseorang Islam.
3. Jakim juga menasihatkan pusat membeli belah tidak memaksa orang Islam yang bekerja dengan mereka agar mengenakan pakaian demikian.
4. Jakim menyeru umat Islam di negara ini agar berhati-hati dengan pemikiran pluralisme dan liberalisme agama. Islam adalah agama sempurna sehingga menitik beratkan soal pemakaian penganutnya.

(Bernama) – Any marriage between a Muslim and a non-Muslim is disallowed and is not recognised in this country and action can be taken by the state Islamic religious authorities, said Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha.
He said Islamic family laws state no Muslim man can marry a non-Muslim woman and no Muslim woman can marry a non-Muslim man.
“A marriage between spouses of different religions is completed prohibited and against the principle of beliefs of the Shafie sect (Ahli Sunnah Wal Jamaah) in Malaysia,” he said in a statement here today.

Why is he telling us this? What else is illegal in Malaysia?
Has there been a run on Muslims marrying non-Muslims or non-Muslims marrying Muslims in Malaysia to such an extent that there is reason for Muslims to be worried about the state of Muslims and Islam in Malaysia? That we should be more worried about these marriages than what corruption and money politics done by Muslims are doing to the Muslims, to Islam and to our country?
Is the marrying of a Muslim to a non-Muslim so odious and unforgivable as the antics of a Muslim leader who deposits RM2.6 billion donation meant for Umno into his own personal account and then refuses to give a proper accounting of that money to not only the people of Malaysia (who have no business to know about that donation) but also to Umno (whom has a right to know as to what has been done to that donation!).
When did the marrying of Muslims with non-Muslim transcends from being a matter between the two of them and ALLAH to becoming something that this DG of Jakim feels is a matter that is important enough for public announcement when there are heads of Islam in their respective state, the Sultan in Pahang who have fathered a child out of wedlock and that of Selangor who continues with his liaison with a non-Muslim in matters of sexual gratification? And in the matter of these two Sultans and many other Muslims who engage in these kind of debauchery and sins forbidden by Islam, this DG have said nothing?
What about the many commitments made, broken promise and outright lies uttered by this Umno led Muslim leaders to other Muslim and other Malaysians? Why have the DG not taken to task these theives, robbers, liars and scammers who are all Muslims?
So why is this DG telling us about it being illegal when Muslim marry non - Muslims? Has he got nothing better to say and do but police the minuscule number of Muslim that marry non-Muslims while he ignores the elephant in the room - those Muslims who offend, disobey and ignore the tenets of Islam with impunity? The Muslim ministers who fornicate outside their matrimonial bonds, the ex CJ and others who married without the requisite permission of their first wife, what have this DG done to punish Razak Baginda for having sex not only outside the bonds of his marriage but also with a non-Muslim? By his silence does it make all that these people do legal and beyond the purview of Jakim?
Is it because he does not have the balls to do what he must to defend Islam and prosecute those who offend Islam when they happen to be the high and mighty among the Muslims?
Or does this DG subscribe to that refrain "that the meek shall inherit the earth"? That it is easier for him go for those who are without the means to use power and influence to defend themselves and by so doing earn his considerable keep as DG of Jakim?
As always I am disgusted by the antics of these kind of human being who tells us that no one has the right to question the existence of Jakim. I am appalled that time and time again Jakim are involved in issues that has no bearing or relevance to the matters that concerns Muslims living in a multi racial, multi religious society where tolerance and acceptance of other's point of view and beliefs are crucial to the well being of that society.
Instead they concern themselevs with petty matters and issues that divide not only the Malays and Muslims among ourselves but also continue to isolate the Muslim form the others in our society.
Thus is not how Jakim should lead Muslims in the world that we now live him. If Jakim and this DG were to ask me, how then should they be doing their job...then I say Islam has already lost their relevance to unite and make the Muslims a positive force in Malaysia and also among the non-believers - Jakim and this DG is not part of the solution to the 1Malaysia that we aspire to - they are part of the problem as to why we are unable to achieve the Malaysia that we all want.

from Jakim who demanded extraordinary figure bribe, gambling allowances,
prostitutes and free travel overseas.
Every year Jakim will
scout one or two companies to make their demands. In most cases the
amount are reasonable. But for the past three years the figure asked
were:
1) A week inspection at suppliers' plant which are based overseas for three to six officers from Jakim. Hotels five stars and travel first class.
2) Pocket allowances for gambling and women which can amount to RM60,000 per person.
3) Then more allowance in Malaysia from RM30,000 to RM48,000 per person.
So how many companies can continue to meet the demands of Jakim?
Last June, the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jabatan
Kemajuan Islam Malaysia – Jakim) revealed that tests on HP Sauce and
Tabasco Pepper Sauce, confirmed the presence of pig DNA.
As
expected, the brand owners of HP Sauce and Tabasco pepper sauce, HJ
Heinz and McIlhenny Company respectively, issued a statement denying
that the products were not halal.
The statement read: "HP Sauce
is certified halal by Halal Audit Company, an Islamic certification
authority in the Netherlands where the factory is located. Heinz,which
is the manufacturer of HP Sauce, has done tests for traces of pig DNA
and has submitted the results to the Malaysian Islamic Development
Department (Jakim) and no trace of pig DNA was found".

also confirmed that Tabasco was certified halal by the Islamic Food and
Nutrition Council of America, an Islamic authority in the United States.
Furthermore, the sauce is made from natural ingredients and does not
contain any animal by-product.

Islamic development agency claimed today that many Muslim do not respect the
authority of the Malay Rulers who are heads of religions for their respective
states.
On the eve of a planned gathering
of a million Muslims to defend the faith, the Department of Islamic Development
Malaysia (Jakim) prepared a Friday sermon that accused some parties of putting
political interests ahead of the religion.
“Many Muslims today do not respect the views and authority and in fact
question the Sultan heads of the Islamic religious councils.
I suggest Jakim read the following article on The King of Thailand and maybe, just maybe, they will understand why so many Malaysian are fed up of the bad behaviour and antics of almost all of our Sultans. And I say almost all of them because there are one or two goods one amongst them...but for the most part these Sultans waste their time by wasting the money they get from us and living a life of decadence and fornicate at our expanse.
The recent involvement of this Sultan of Selangor in ruling that the Selangor religious authority raid on the Damansara Utama Methodist Church on August 3 was legitimate is a case in point.
Now this guy, in as far as I can recall, have been married twice. Right now I guess you could call him a dirty old man...because at age 65 or thereabouts, he is screwing around with females to whom he is not legally married. Now what is Jakim going to do about that? And you expect the people to show respect to this Sultan?
I can go on about other Sultans...but enough for now. I suggest Jakim and other Sultans out there do go and read the following article on the King of Thailand and then santap for a while and when you wake up...start asking yourself why people are against spending so much money to upkeep an institution that not only does not give any value for money spent but consider itself "ROYAL". They are as ROYAL as I am a Bugis! It does not make a difference to the world that we are now living in...even Mahathir no longer think about Kerala!
The world is changing! We no longer tolerate anybody that thinks that the nations owes them a living just because they were born in an Istana! Heck we even question the right of the sons of our Prime Minister to be anybody in government!

Thais say the king exhibits perfect Buddhist qualities
Not much can bring the life of the noisy, traffic-clogged heart of Bangkok to a halt. But on Wednesday the streets were hushed, the cars and buses banished. All you could hear were speakers playing the royal anthem, and thousands of flags fluttering in the breeze, held by people of all ages. Most were dressed in yellow and had waited for hours for a glimpse of a stiff and stern-faced old man passing in a motorcade, on his way to the gilded halls and temples of Bangkok's Grand Palace. And as it passed they shouted "Song Phra Charoen", "Long Live Your Majesty". Some had tears in their eyes. What explains this extraordinary bond between people and monarch? King Bhumibol Adulyadej is accorded an almost divine reverence, with titles like Phra Chao Yu Hua (Lord Upon our Heads) or Chao Chiwit (Lord of Life). People prostrate themselves on the ground in his presence. Yet there is genuine affection too, and it goes both ways. Thais talk of their love for him as though he were a cherished member of the family. In his speeches to the nation he likes to joke and tease them.

Earlier in his reign when he was younger and travelled a lot, he clearly enjoyed meeting and mixing with people from the poorest rural communities. People often refer to his long life of service to the nation, to his experiments with agriculture and irrigation, many of them carried out on the grounds of his palace in Bangkok. The formidable public relations machine which manages the monarchy's image makes much of these experiments, as it does of the king's other talents as a jazz musician and sailor. But the real measure of these achievements is impossible to know in a country where all criticism of the monarchy is curtailed by the draconian lese majeste law (offence against the dignity of the monarch), and only lavish praise for the royal family can be published. The reverence for the king seems rooted in something less worldly. Time after time when Thais are asked about the virtues of King Bhumibol they refer to his proper adherence to the principles of "Dhamma", Buddhist teachings and the Buddhist concept of righteousness.

It is not just his practical deeds they are looking at, but his manner, his modesty, his reserve, his gentleness, and his apparent detachment from the world - qualities he has worked hard to perfect and project. He is as much a spiritual leader as a worldly one. During his six decades on the throne Thailand has undergone changes as wrenching as in any other country.
Per capita income has gone up 40-fold. An almost entirely agrarian society has become a substantially urban one. The economy has been swept along by the forces of globalisation.
Political upheaval
There have been other changes as well.
The king's endorsement of the coup was essential to its success
This king has reigned through 17 military coups and 26 prime ministers. The gap between rich and poor has widened, with conspicuous consumption and conspicuous corruption accepted as part of everyday life. There has been a corresponding decline in traditional community and family values. Amid this whirlwind, the king has remained a reassuring anchor, a man who embodies Thailand's history but who has also come to embody integrity and detachment from the squalid realities of day-to-day politics and business. He has lived the myth of the virtuous monarch so well that almost the entire population believes in it and takes comfort from it. And it gives him a unique moral authority. When he speaks, people listen. They may, and often do, fail to act on his advice. But he has been able to use that authority to settle a number of political crises.

"If the country were in good shape politically, then the role of the constitutional monarch is not very difficult," explains Suchit Bunbongkarn, professor of political science at Chulalongkorn University. "But in the case of Thailand it is not easy because our political system has been unstable all the time. So whenever there is a political crisis people expect the king to solve the problem." Former Prime Minister Anand Panyarachun describes King Bhumibol's authority as "reserve power" that, because it has been used judiciously and sparingly, has been decisive in maintaining the country's stability. This power, he says, has been accumulated through a life of dedication to his job. It cannot, he points out, be inherited or passed on.
Fears and superstition

That explains the acute anxiety now over the king's fragile health. Few imagine that any future monarch can match this one. There are many reservations about the capabilities of his presumed heir, Crown Prince Vajiralongkorn, although these cannot be expressed publicly because of the lese majeste laws. The succession itself is not completely clear, with the constitution leaving considerable powers to designate an heir to the 19-member Privy Council of senior advisors to the king. The opacity that has preserved the mystique of monarchy in Thailand makes it impossible to discuss, let alone plan for the succession. So Thais prefer not to think about it. When I saw his tailor, Sompop Louilarpprasert, and asked him about the king's recent spell in hospital, he brushed it aside. "I want to be making suits for him when he is 90 years old, when he is 100 - longer even." It was Sompop who made the dazzling pink blazer the king wore when he came out of hospital. Within hours, pink shirts were being sold in their thousands across the country, and there are days when some streets are a sea of pink. In this superstitious country they now associate pink with the king's recovery. It will bring him good fortune, they say. By wearing it they are literally willing him to stay alive for them.

And this is how the King of Thailand speaks to the leader of one of Thailand coup...the guy is on his knees listening to what the King has to say to him! You see any of our Sultans being able to do this to any of those Barisan Nasional polticians? Huh....it is the Sultan that goes crawling to those BN politicians for favors! I rest my case!
