Common Sense.

Selamat Pagi Malaysia. 8.26 Tuesday 15th May 2018.

It has been a confusing start to this week for me. What is the opposite of Fake News? True News? Real News? News from "reliable" sources? News from TV3, RTM, NST, Utusan or Public Announcements from Government Sources? How come it has been announced that the Fake News legislation is being retained? I am being told to not comment on anything that is happening in K Hell and yet at the same time our friends are asking each other for comments! We are being told that Umno cybertroopers are everywhere creating huru hara to confuse and keep us all on edge by posting misleading information to divide Malaysians against each other.....so what are we to believe?

Friends, in the things I do, common sense prevails.

Ask yourself this...what do you think those in Umno today...at this time of defeat and humiliation...are concerned with?

One thing and one thing only....how to get through the day...one day at a time. Survive the day first. The new President of Umno is trying to deal with the realities that now surround him while the past President awaits that knock on his door that tells him that the nightmare he much fears, answering for what he has done in the name of government, becomes a reality.

No one in Umno has time to sebar fake news to create unrest in our nation or to destabilise this PH government.

No one in Umno can think of anything else but how to save themselves from the inquisition that is about to be unleash upon them by this PH government for money politics, corruption and dedak.

Those with money, if they can cabut have already done so or are in the process of trying to do so. Some are trying to cover their dedak tracks and when all avenues to save themselves fails, they wait for that inevitable knock on the door from PDRM requesting their presence at Bukit Aman. And then there are the enterprising ones...the frogs and those who will do deals and turn state witness.....do anything to secure a "Get out of Jail" card from the authorities or avoid punishment by being contrite and "helpful" to investigators looking into the affairs of this past BN government.

All this is happening now even as we speak.

So any news that comes your way, any information, any bisek bisek from friends and informants....take it all with a bit of salt and use your common sense to figure out what is true and what are lies.

Second day into the week and Tun is doing his "thing" the way we have expected him to do. Have faith in him. Trust Tun. I do not think he will abuse the trust we have placed in him. ....and learn to trust in your instincts more then in others. We must learn to think for ourselves now.....this new PH government we have put into office will allow us to do so. Start today.

cakap cakap....common sense.

There is, in all of us, a bit of Satan and a bit of the Angel. For some, there is more of the Angel and less of the Satan and for others, more of the Satan than of the Angel. Rarely do we find in people equal proportions of both to balance out one if pitted against the other. But any student of history will tell you that there have been moments in the past when there have been individuals who will make us wonder if there could be people who have been cursed to be entirely bereft of angelic nuances. Bereft of any sense of good or even any sense of wanting to do good. If there are, then we no longer have to worry about their presence for they have all been consigned to history. These are the Hitler's, the Khmer Rouge's, the Ceausescu's of the world whose lives, from begging to end, have been their own testament to being Satan incarnate...all long dead and buried. Let us concern our self with the living before we ourselves are dead.

Living far from the maddening crowd and living beyond the grasps of those who are already mad in Malaysia, I do not have to concern myself too much about what those who walks in the corridors of power in Putrajaya, in Bukit Aman or in any parts of Malaysia where Little Napoleons reside. I do not have to worry too much about what they will do to me should they agree to disagree with what I write....but that does not give me license to write as I please. 

In truth, even if I write as I please, it will give me no pleasure or gratification for those views are mine and mine alone. Views that are tempered by my birth, my race, my religion (if any), my education and in the manner I have lived my life. - all of which is really no body's business but mine. So I try to keep my personal views to myself when I write.

So what guides me in how I write? Two words : COMMON SENSE.

Religion, race, politics and life must be attended to and lived by, in my opinion, with COMMON SENSE. If a Malay tells me that ALLAH wants umno and PAS to win the next PRU I will not bite. If a Chinese tells me that the Chinese in Malaysia have been treated as second class Rakyat's, I too will not bite. Any other Malaysians - even those from Sabah and Sarawak (for they are also Malaysians are they not?) who comes to me and cry foul in the manner that the Barisan Nasional government have been remiss in their treatment of them....that too I will not bite. Each case have to be considered and evaluated upon it's own merit for surely for every Ying there is a Yang. 

So why am I critical of the manner this umno led BN government is doing their time in Putrajaya? Common sense will tell you that a prime minister, who is the leader of this bn government, found with RM2.6 billion in his personal account for which he cannot give a proper accounting for - is suspect. Common sense will tell me that an AG and the IGP who do not act against said prime minister are also suspect. 

PAS, Jakim, Jawi, Muftis, Tabung Haji, Men who do ALLAH's work on this earth (so they claim), Zakir Naik, the Sultans who are the head of Islam in their state and many many other Muslims who claim to do ALLAH's work on this Dunia have also been, to me, suspect in the manner they do their work. And COMMON SENSE tells me that if I have to consistently question and doubt their ability to do ALLAH's work on this Dunia as I think it should be done....then they too are all suspect to me....but my caveat is that phrase "as I think it should be done"...for how I think it should be done may differ in how YOU think it should be done...hence COMMON SENSE prevails again. 

By now you would have been able to discerned that I write to my own drum beat. Race, religion and politics are of no consequence to me...COMMON SENSE is. 

But then that is me. Many of you will beg to differ from how I think. Some of you will not even beg to differ from me.....some of you will give me the finger and tell me to go fly kites, 

To each his own....but I hope, if you read what I write, you too will allow COMMON SENSE to rule the manner by which you live your life. 

Cakap cakap....Common sense!

Let us not talk about a constitutional crisis in Selangor precipitated by the Chief Secretary to the Government by his arbitrary appointment of the State Secretary. Let us not talk about amending the State Constitution so that the state can take back the power to appoint the top three civil servants. Some even insists that Khursin’s appointment violated the nation’s founding principles.

Let us instead just use our common sense.

Common sense will tell you that you cannot appoint a State Secretary that cannot work with the MB. To appoint a State Secretary the sensible thing to do would be first to go and talk with the MB of the State and then once the MB says OK  -  go and see the Sultan and inform him of the decision. Of course there have been instances where the Sultan have asked for the MB of a State to be removed – but those days are gone. These days the Sultan will do as told.

Now why Najib and the Chief Secretary to the Government could not work this out is very perplexing. If they could not resolve this simple issue how can Najib govern our country well?

Do these BN leaders have so much free time to just sit around devising ways of how to hantam Khalid and Selangor because it is in the hands of Pakatan Rakyat? I can just imagine some smart-ass UMNO or BN guy eagerly coming up to bodek Najib with this plan of putting Khalid into an uncomfortable situation. Now how Najib is stupid enough to play ball to this stupid idea in the first place does makes us worry for his sanity and ability to think clearly and rationally. Even a taxi driver and the Mak Chik selling Nasi lemak will tell Najib what he should have done.

So tell me Najib why did you do it? The same question I want to ask as to why you appointed Isa to head Felda? Rahim Thambi Chik to head Risda. And God knows what else is on your mind …..are you bringing back JJ to head anything? 

And Samy Velu is now galavanting around India trying to get jobs for Malaysian contractors…he must feel like a kid in a candy store.

We all know why Rosmah have you on a very tight rein. She knows only too well what you have been up to before you married her and after you married her. So now days you do not get to go places where you can be naughty by yourself! She is there to keep you honest. So you know yourself the necessity of keeping temptations away from those that can be tempted. So please use some common sense when you appoint people to high public office where they are able to get themselves into all sorts of mischief – of the sexual and financial kind. So be a good boy and use some common sense in your decision-making.
