 Sultan regrets Nurul’s remarks

(The Star) -  The Sultan of Selangor has expressed regret and surprise at a statement by PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar that Malay Muslims are free to choose their faith under the religious freedom factor.

Selangor Islamic Affairs Council (Mais) chairman Datuk Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa said Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah totally rejected any view that Malay Muslims were free to choose another religion and denounce Islam.

Wahai Tuanku Sultan Selangor! This Mais (Selangor Islamic Affairs Council) chairman Mohamad Adzib Mohd Isa tells me that you have expressed regret and surprise at Nurul’s statement that Malay Muslims are free to choose their faith under the religious freedom factor. Before we go on to what Nurul said or did not say can we look at your own good self Tuanku?

You are not exactly the paragon of virtue that is expected of a Muslim are you Tuanku? What more as the head of Islam in Selangor? Is UMNO on your back to put your two cents worth on this matter of ostracizing Nurrul in return for more then two cents worth of business opportunities for you and your cronies? Or are you genuinely concerned that Islam is under threat in Selangor? If you are then lead by example!

Now Jais is also into the fray! Their director Marzuki Husin says, “…Islam is not the same as other faiths”…. stressing that Jais could act against Nurul if it has information on what she exactly said at the forum! With organizations like Jais acting for Islam of course Islam is not like any other religion! What are the newsworthy efforts of Jais?

We read of Jais trespassing into the premises of the Damansara Utama Methodist Church (DUMC) – intruding into their thanksgiving dinner and interrupting their programme – conducting a check to look for Muslims as provided under the Syariah Criminal Enactment (Selangor) 1995 – with, according to the Jais Director Marzuki Hussin, permission from the organizers! Huh!

Are you still raiding those cheap hotels looking for fornicating Muslim unmarried couples breaking the syariah law? Why not try the five Star Hotels? Or even the Istanas? That would be something to behold! Royalties jumping into their Rakyat bought Rolls and Bentley to escape Jais enforcement officers!

What about the sorry business of body snatching from grieving families by Jais enforcement officers – still being done?

Really Jais its time to up your ante! Start with the Sultan!
