THIS PENCURI, PENIPU & PENYAMUN WANTS TO SUE TONY PUA : GO AHEAD SAY TONY....MAKE MY DAY!

DANGER AWAITS M’SIA’S GREATEST THIEF: APART FROM NAJIB, ROSMAH, G

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, who as “Malaysian Public Official 1” is the target of what was said to be the largest single action ever brought under the US’s Kleptocracy Asset Recovery Initiative, is suing Democratic Action Party National Spokesman Tony Pua for calling him a thief.
The prime minister’ legal action against Pua has set off considerable derision in Kuala Lumpur, where allegations against Najib for the looting of the state-backed 1Malaysia Development Bhd. have been widely circulated for two years. The now-moribund fund, set up as an investment vehicle in 2009 guaranteed by the Finance Ministry, is believed to have lost as much as RM43 billion (US$11 billion) through mismanagement and theft, with more than US$1 billion diverted into Najib’s own accounts.

✖Singapore has closed the branches of two Swiss banks believed to have been conduits for the funds and jailed several private bankers.  Swiss authorities are demanding that 1MDB and the Malaysian government account for US$4 billion believed to have been laundered illegally into Swiss banks.
In an April 6  Facebook posting protesting an unprecedented action by the government to allow the opposition Parti Islam se-Malaysia to introduce a bill on sharia law, Pua said the plan to introduce the bill was promoted with the political intent to hang on to power by appealing to Malay sentiment despite the fact that Najib “is the most unpopular prime minister in the history of Malaysia” and that the decision to push the PAS bill was “designed as a political scheme to distract Malaysians from the crimes that the prime minister has committed, mainly the fact that the prime minister has stolen billions of ringgit from 1mdb, the wholly owned subsidiary of the government of Malaysia.”
Then Pua went on to say that “we must not fall into the trap put forward by the prime minister in collusion with PAS, Malaysia must hold firmly strong, we will on the part of the DAP reject the private member bill… the woods that we should not lose sight of is to bring down a kleptocratic administration led by the biggest thief of all in the country, Dato Sri Najib Razak.”
After Pua refused a demand for an apology, Najib’s lawyer Hafarizam Harun said the video had implied that his client committed theft and abused his power. Pua was ordered to report to the police on April 25.
“Contrary to your defamatory statements above, our client is not a tyrannical and oppressive kleptocrat, nor does he shun criticisms, neither he is a leader involved in corrupt practices nor a leader who steals the people’s monies,” the law firm said.
“I don’t quite know what Najib is up to,” said a Kuala Lumpur-based lawyer in a telephone conversation with Asia Sentinel. “He tries to avoid giving evidence, but it’s pretty hard to escape the fact that he’s a thief.”
From the evidence released last July from the US Justice Department investigation, the lawyer appears to be right. Najib certainly looks like a thief. The investigation found that from 2009 through 2015, more than US$3.5 billion in funds belonging to 1MDB were misappropriated from the fund, with a large part of that diverted for personal use by Public Official No. 1, his stepson Riza Aziz and others.

That included a missing US$681 million that was deposited in Najib’s personal bank account in Ambank in Kuala Lumpur in early 2013. Najib has acknowledged the receipt but said the money was a “donation”without identifying the donor.  The US Justice Department ran the total believed to have gone into Najib’s accounts at various times to at least US$1 billion.  The search for additional assets is said to be continuing in southern California.
Much of the money is believed to have been re-transferred into accounts held by Jho Taek Low, the young financial whiz who in 2009 convinced Najib to take over a Terengganu state investment fund and turn it into 1MDB. Shortly after, Jho Low, as he calls himself, went on an amazing buying binge of apartments, houses, airplanes, jewelry, paintings and other expensive playthings.  Also, armed with a letter of guarantee from 1MDB, he attempted vainly to buy three of London’s most prestigious hotels. At least some of the money, the Justice Department said, was allegedly used to fund the production of the blockbuster movie Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and produced by Riza Aziz. Jho Taek Low was given “special thanks” in the screen credits.
“Stolen money that is subsequently used to purchase interests in music companies, artwork or high-end real estate is subject to forfeiture under US law,” said U.S. Attorney Eileen M. Decker, who was present at Lynch’s press conference.Malaysian Official 1 was named 32 times in the 136-page civil complaint.
This is Najib’s second defamation suit against Pua. In 2015, he sued the DAP MP over comments linking the prime minister to the 1MDB scandal.
Pua has also filed a suit against Najib this year for alleged “misfeasance in public office.” Malaysia’s court system, deeply political and aligned with the government, is not expected to side with Pua.
Despite nearly two years of scandal and sensational news that investigations against 1MDB are proceeding in Switzerland, Singapore, the United States and other countries, Najib remains secure in his position as prime minister, at least partly by playing to insecurities on the part of the ethnic Malay majority in the country against the Chinese-dominated opposition.  He is expected to call a snap election sometime later this year to guarantee another five years in power for the Barisan Nasional, or ruling national coalition.

Anybody keen to form a table?
Dear Malaysians,

PM Najib can sue me for defamation one time, or now two times.
The police can investigate me for purported "activities detrimental to parliamentary democracy" which are punishable by 20 years in prison. They will probably in days to come find more reasons to haul me to Bukit Aman.
However, I can't and I won't give up fighting to rid Malaysia of one of the worst kleptocrats in the world. We Malaysians must not give up the fight.
Because giving up will be exactly what the thieves who have stolen billions of dollars from the people of Malaysia wants us to do.
Once we give up, once we forget about 1MDB and SRC International, once we decide to "move on", that's when these crooks will laugh all the way to the bank at our expense.
My colleagues in DAP and Pakatan Harapan will continue the fight, come what may. It is because our party elders didn't give up when it was seemingly hopeless in the past, that today we can actually talk about the possibility of a change of govt.
And if we, as your elected representatives today keep up the struggle, then BN's demise will be inevitable and only be a matter of time.
We will use the latest technologies, new media mediums and channels to deliver our messages. We will go to all marginal seats, in the villages all around the country.
We don't need all Malaysians in rural areas to shift their votes to Pakatan. We just need enough of them to do so.
Hence we need your generous support, especially financially, to assist us in reaching out to the swing voters, using all means necessary.

DAP are Malaysian First. The interest of our country must take top priority, China "investment" or otherwise.

By Tony Pua
On behalf of DAP, and together with a few of my colleagues, we have visited various Chinese media outlets to deliver 2 boxes of mandarin oranges to wish them a Happy Rooster Year.
One of the questions we kept getting asked by the editors was, "why are you all so opposed to China investment?"
Each time, I had to explain, we are not opposed to China investments or investments from any other country. BUT:
1. They must be "investments" - which means China pays for it. It should not be Malaysians who pay, but framed as China investment. For e.g., the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) - it's NOT a China investment, it's the Malaysian govt awarding the RM55bn contract to a China-owned company.
2. Even if they are contracts, they must demonstrate value for money for Malaysians. Why should the RM55bn ECRL be awarded without any tender process to China, especially when the Govt's own consultants estimate the cost of the project to be less than RM30bn? Where is the balance of the RM25bn going to? Pay 1MDB debts?
3. Don't forget, projects such as these are funded with "generous" loans from the state-owned China banks, payable by our tax-payers for generations to come. Are we sacrificing our children's interest for our ill-conceived projects and scandal cover-ups?
4. As my colleague Liew Chin Tong has rightly pointed out, Malaysia should also be selective of they types of "investments" we seek. We can do without the property-market-destroying Forest City type projects when we have no shortage of expertise in the property development sector. Instead, why isn't Huawei setting up its design centre or its manufacturing plant here in Malaysia?
5. Before Malaysians, of Chinese descent or otherwise, get carried away with the China-investment euphoria - remember also that much of it is simply hype. Aggregate all the MOUs, whether contracts or investments, make a big splash and ta-da... (hope to) win the hearts of the Malaysians - even if much of it is never going to materialise.
Do you still remember the decade not too long ago when the Najib administration was hyping up Middle East investments? Now, what happened to that?
6. Most dangerous of all, as the article below rightly pointed out, we should beware the bearer of false gifts and broken promises. China cares little for our well-being and is ruthlessly entrenching its strategic interests.
Before you know it, we might not only lose all our strategic interests, such as the oil assets at the disputed Spratlys, we will become a vassal state of China. We will be forced to bend over backwards to its will, harking back to the "golden years" of the Malacca sultanate.
---
MCA can politicise race and stir up emotions, blaming us for being cautious with the China investment brouhaha. In doing so they are exposing their hypocrisy and pawning away the interest of the country.
But I, and my fellow comrades in DAP are Malaysian First. The interest of our country must take top priority, China "investment" or otherwise.

Rafizi, Tony and Tian Chua should be in DAP, a party fighting for the nation, not some family affair!

Let me get this picture STRAIGHT!

The ONLY 2 people 'consistently' on the Offensive against Najib and BN are 'Tun Dr. Mahathir' and 'Rafizi Ramli' whom sadly is NOT the 'Opposition Leader' at the moment.

The only PARTY as a whole which has been 'consistently' agressive against BN in the whole of Pakatan has been DAP, but sadly because of much of the conservative mindsets of the Malays especially in the rural and Non-Urban areas, DAP cannot take the LEAD in Pakatan simply because most of it's MAIN Leaders are NOT Malays or 'Bumiputras' to enable it to be more easily accepted by the conservative Malay/Muslim voters out there in masses.

And if Tun Dr. Mahathir's team did NOT come-up with the "PEOPLE'S DECLARATION", I did NOT see any UNIFIED effort or 'campaign' done by Pakatan's own leadership for a 'National Level'.

And the ONLY thing which has been more 'consistently' screamed by PKR's side is " BEBAS ANWAR"? While a LOT of times it seems like 'Rafizi' whom has consistently been exposing the shit and crap from UMNO/BN almost seems like he's moving 'SOLO' with the PKR Party 'tagging along' behind or focused 'elsewhere'?

So as a voter and Citizen I'm being asked to have Confidence and Faith in 'Pakatan' as a COALITION when all I see is that it is FRACTURED than truly 'united'?

If majority of our Malays out there still were NOT conservative anymore I would have preferred DAP leading the way due to their 'consistency' till now, but reality wise when dealing with the majority Malay/Bumiputra voters that isn't possible for now, while the PARTNERS which DAP depends upon to GET to the Malay Bumiputra voters has been LESS dependable ever since Anwar was put in-jail.

No need to mention AMANAH cause they're still new, and although Mat Sabu is good 'speaker', I'm NOT too sure he makes a good party leader.

So right now the "People's Declaration" which Dr. Mahathir's camp came up with is the ONLY thing which Citizens and Voters can PARTICIPATE in?

COME ON lah Pakatan! I thought most of the 'Intelligent' ones were on OUR side. Don't tell me we've run OUT of IDEAS?

I only have a bit of faith in the party which has SHOWN more consistency in Pakatan, which is only one. Sorry but slowly losing faith in this so called 'coalition'.

I really think Pakatan Harapan in general either needs some NEW leadership or that we really need a "PEOPLE'S MOVEMENT" championed BY the people where the People can participate more independently with only little support needed from the 'opposition' itself.

Kelly Cheek When you have most ex-Umno in PKR, one has to take the risk that they will jump here and there after being elected, it happened before. Furthermore freeing Anwar is not the nation priority at the moment, the nation is suffering but yet Anwar's family is using the people for their own agenda. They clearly are not fighting for Malaysian, is a matter of time people won't trust them anymore.

Tony Pua...tingkat kan prestasi anda!

steadyaku47 comment : With much reluctance I made myself sit through the 3.44 minutes of this painfully juvenile attempt at scoring political points lampooning an auspicious Chinese New Year greetings aimed at the Chinese electorates by DAP.

And this Tony Pua sits in PAC?

Surely we can expect better of people who are among the political elites of the opposition. You would not see the late great Karpal or Aruah Tok Guru descending into the abyss of "if you can's beat them...join them!"

Speaking for myself....my inclination is to give the opposition what support I can muster against the corrupt and rampantly arrogant Umno led BN government but it does not extend to being unconditional. DAP may get a few laughs out of this cheap shot of a "Happy New Year" greetings but not many others can find any mirth in it. I did not.

Tony Pua : Why has Hasan Arifin declared that the PAC will be calling its final witnesses on 11th and 12th February when no such decision was made during past meetings?

The Malaysian Insider reported yesterday that the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman, Datuk Hasan Ariffin announced that the PAC will close its investigations on 1MDB after hearing from its last 2 witnesses on 11th and 12th February 2016, before receiving its report from the Auditor-General.

They are the former president and chief executive officer of 1MDB Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and former 1MDB chairman Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh.

I have read the above news with surprise as the matter has never been discussed in any of the previous PAC meetings.  During the last meeting, we have agreed for Datuk Shahrol Halmi and Tan Sri Mohd Bakke Salleh to be summoned during the above dates in February.

However, it was never decided that there will be no more witnesses to be called as part of the PAC’s investigations into the 1MDB scandal.

There are at least several other parties who are extremely relevant to the investigations as they have intimate knowledge of the activities which have been carried out by the wholly-owned Ministry of Finance subsidiary.

Those who should be called by the PAC includes but are not limited to Bank Negara Governor, Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz and another former Chief Executive Officer, Mohd Hazem Abd Rahman.

It is crucial for the PAC to hear directly from Tan Sri Zeti and her Bank Negara officials because the Central Bank has via a statement in October last year, revoked three permissions granted to 1MDB under the Exchange Control Act 1953 (ECA) for investments abroad totalling US$1.83 billion.

Bank Negara had also issued a directive under the Financial Services Act 2013 to 1MDB to repatriate the amount of US$1.83 billion to Malaysia and to submit a plan to it for this purpose.

Bank Negara’s testimony will offer crucial information on the alleged offences, if any, leading to the above unprecedented actions against 1MDB.

On the other hand, Hazem’s testimony is crucial because he was 1MDB’s CEO from March 2013 to January 2015.  During his reign, a US$3 billion bond was raised via Goldman Sachs for the purposes of a joint venture with Abu Dhabi’s Aabar Investment PJS in March 2013.  However, the joint venture never materialised, half the proceeds from the bonds issued have been utilised and the remainder invested in undisclosed investment funds overseas.

In addition, Hazem was responsible for the purchase of the RM1.2 billion of encumbered land in Penang and the failure of the initial public offering of 1MDB’s energy arm.

Under the previous chairmanship of Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohammad, the PAC has previously set a date for Hazem to attend a PAC hearing in August 2015 before the PAC was suspended prior to the appointment of Datuk Hasan Ali.  The PAC then had also formally requested for the Ministry of Finance to secure the attendance of Low Taek Jho, who was the Special Advisor to the Chairman of the 1MDB Board of Advisors, Dato’ Seri Najib Razak.

The matter is of prime importance because the credibility and integrity of the Parliament’s PAC is at stake.  We are one of the sole remaining institutions still actively investigating the 1MDB scandal, and hence the Malaysian public are relying on PAC members to carry out their duties diligently without fear or favour.  The failure of the PAC to be thorough in our investigations will not only disappoint Malaysians, it will give the perception that the PAC is biased in favour of 1MDB and the authorities.

I call upon Datuk Hasan Ariffin to discuss the matter of calling additional witnesses to the PAC before completing our investigations at the next PAC meeting.

Arul Kanda Kandasamy only has to answer to PAC at it's proceedings.........anything else is a non-starter!

1MDB debate still on, we’ll name Pua’s replacement tomorrow, says Saifuddin

Pakatan Harapan has identified another leader to replace DAP’s Tony Pua for a proposed debate with 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) president Arul Kanda Kandasamy, its secretariat chief Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said.

He said that the newly-formed opposition pact will continue pursuing the debate even though RTM had retracted its offer to telecast the debate live following Pua's withdrawal.
"We have a single name in our mind, we will name the person tomorrow," he said during a press conference at Parliament today.

The name will be proposed to the presidential council tonight, Saifuddin said.
"It's okay if RTM is not hosting it. We can pursue it with other platforms," he said.
Earlier today, Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said RTM would no longer offer a live telecast for the debate after Pua's withdrawal.

steadyaku47 comment:

Come on lah Pakatan Harapan...give it a rest!

You are beginning to sound like a broken record.

Tony Pua has already made a fool of himself. If Pakatan Harapan and Tony Pua does not believe that PAC can conduct itself in a manner that is open and above board then do not have any part in it. Ask your people in PAC to resign and then by all means go challenge Arul or anybody else to debate you re 1MDB.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

Do not blame anyone else but Tony Pua for this debacle. Any idiot with half a brain can work out for themselves that Tony Pua should resign first from PAC if he wants to debate the President of 1MDB over matters that PAC is currently in the process of investigating.

Cut your losses....zip your lips.....extricate....disentangle....claw your way out....cut and run....run away....do any of these things....just do it before your face hit the ground and you lose more credibility with the electorates that you can afford to lose.

Right now 1MDB's president, Arul Kanda Kandasamy, only has to answer to PAC at it's proceedings.........anything else is a non-starter! Kapish?

cakap cakap...of Tony Pua and Arul Kanda

I don't know about you guys but I am NOT sitting at the edge of my seat all agog with anticipation and expectations of what will transpire out of this Tony Pua vs Arul Kanda one on one, face to face, mano e mano debate/discussion/confrontation (delete whichever you think is appropriate) over 1MDB.

For me Arul Kanda is already ahead!

Possibly his political masters may have given him the nod or had push him into it. Maybe his own pride told him that this was something he simply must do if he is to salvage some credibility and somehow reestablish some semblance of authority to what ever is still left of his position as 1MDB Group Executive Editor and President - but the momentum favors Tony Pua. Arul's acceptance of this challenge puts him up front in the line of fire from not only Tony Pua but also from all those raring to vent their disgust and contempt at Najib and 1MDB.

Public perception does not favor Arul Kanda and he is indeed the underdog. He knows this and to agree to put himself up for an inquisition takes courage/supreme confidence/or ignorance of what is out there (again, cross out what you think is not appropriate).

I would think that as a committee  member of  the Public Accounts Committee it is incumbent upon Tony Pua to maintain an even keel re issues that committee is debating. By debating with Arul, what stance Tony intends to take, will surely indicate to everyone his opinion on 1MDB  before PAC has complete its investigations. I do not think that that is proper - just as you would not want any member of a jury, to have any opinion of the innocent or guilt of anyone on trial before them until all the evidence has been heard.

So the only conclusion I can draw as to why Tony Pua insists on staying in PAC and still debate Arul is that this is too good an opportunity to pass for political point scoring against Najib. ...and in all seriousness Tony never expected for Arul and his political masters to allow for the confrontation to happen.

It is still not a done deal...the fat lady still has not sung....but whatever happens now the one that will finally decide who wins or lose are not even attending the debate.....yes Sir...you and me will have to make that decision hopefully, after watching it live on RTM.

Until then let us amuse ourselves with a list of what we want Tony Pua to ask Arul and send that list to Tony Pua. Let me start with a few:
  • Did 1MDB really pay for the $24 million apartment in Manhattan?
  • How do I score an invite at the next party Jho Low throws for Paris Hilton?
  • Is there anything wrong with 1MDB? No really...is there anything wrong?
Do I really want those questions to be answered by Arul?

Not really....Nasi sudah jadi bubur.

We thought Bank Bumiputra, Halim Saat and those Highway shenanigans, Privatization, the purchase of the Scorpene Submarine, NFC, PKFZ and a slew of other financial scams and scandals had cost our country already way too money! Not so...the Umno gravy train is still running full tilt!

No money was ever recovered nor any attempt made to have monies taken for all those scams and swindles from our national coffers to benefit politicians and their cronies to be returned to our national coffers!  The crooks get to keep the money!

Do you think the billions already flowing out as a result of what has happened in 1MDB to persons known and unknown will ever flow back into our national coffers? Bloody unlikely! And in the end this attempt to find out where all the billions have gone will end not with a bang but with a whimper.

And then is on to the next money gouging act Umno will conjure out in the not to distant future.....our DPM Zahid, his brother and other cronies are already hard at work at bringing in those over a million Banglas into Malaysia!

The ingenuity of Umno to make billions for their political elites is really a thing of wonder and damm if 1MDB will slow them down!

Tony Pua in Adelaide

To those Malaysian who are in Adelaide and anybody else with an interest of things Malaysian who are in Adeliade:

I am not someone who is pro Barisan Nasional or anti Barisan Nasional. Neither am I pro Pakatan Rakyat or anti Pakatan Rakyat. But I am pro common sense. We are all now in Adelaide – a long way from home. If you read what I write then you must also surf the net for news from home and news about home…and like me follow the happenings back home with much interest and concern. We know everything that happens in KL almost in real time – as soon as it is in the public domain we will have access to it. What we lack is face-to-face contact with those that make the news and are the news in KL.

We have an opportunity to change this on 19th September  - this Sunday at 3pm in Adelaide at:

The Chapel, Lincoln College
Brougham Place
North Adelaide.
http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=149597108405516&ref=mf

Tony Pua, Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara under DAP and also the party’s National Publicity Secretary will be there to talk to you, discuss with you and answer your questions on anything political in DAP, Pakatan Rakyat and in   Malaysia that is within his ability to do so.

It does not matter if you are pro or against the DAP. Whether you are a Malay, Chinese or Indian -  from Sabah or Sarawak! What gender or religion you are too does not matter. This is an opportunity to dialogue with a young an articulate politician.

Tony is the former Malaysian CEO of Cyber Village Sdn Bhd, a SESDAQ (SGX secondary board)-listed company. In early 2007, he disposed of all his interests in the company and tendered his resignation to join the Democratic Action Party (DAP). My enquiry from a friend in KL as to who this Tony Pua was got this response:

“Intelligent, self centered, Lim Kit Siang / Lim Guan Eng blue-eyed boy. New in politics”.

And that is enough to get me to be there to see for myself what this new generation of DAP politician would be like. I hope as many of you in Adelaide will be there for this opportunity to meet face to face with a politician from home who would be able to give us some direct input of things back home.

Come with an open mind ready to debate, discuss and listen to what he has to say - and let us disappoint Tony because he tells me that “I don't expect too many people”

And if it was worth your while then we await the arrival of Lim Guan Eng on the 1st of October....the other Lion from Penang!

Regards.
