Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey who was behind such hit songs as Hotel California and Tequila Sunrise is dead at the age of 67

Frey died from a combination of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia
He'd been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November
His illness forced the Eagles to pull out of their Kennedy Center Honors appearance in December
Glenn was one of the founding members of the Eagles which had several number one hits in the 1970s
He co-wrote and sang most of the Eagles hits, including Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise, Lyin' Eyes and Heartache Tonight
