Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey who was behind such hit songs as Hotel California and Tequila Sunrise is dead at the age of 67 

  • Frey died from a combination of complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia
  • He'd been battling intestinal issues for months and had surgery in November
  • His illness forced the Eagles to pull out of their Kennedy Center Honors appearance in December 
  • Glenn was one of the founding members of the Eagles which had several number one hits in the 1970s
  • He co-wrote and sang most of the Eagles hits, including Take It Easy, Tequila Sunrise, Lyin' Eyes and Heartache Tonight
