KASSIM AHMAD.

An eighty one year old Malay male who walks with the aid of a walking stick was picked up from his house in Taman Kulim Perdana on Thursday and detained by enforcement personnel from the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department Malaysia (Jawi) for disrespecting religious authorities.

First thing first. Ptui to the religious authorities -  to Jawi - for arresting an 81 year old Malay who needs the aid of a walking stick to walk. If at 81 you still cannot say what you want and do anything that you want within reasons then there is something wrong with the society that he lives in.

Woi Jawi there is an 84 year old Sultan in Pahang who has a child out of wedlock. Why does Jawi not arrest him? Is not having a child out of wedlock disrespecting religious authorities?

There is also a Minister in Najib's cabinet - Shahidan Kassim - who also has a child out of wedlock - is this not disrespecting Jawi? What is Jawi doing about this?

You have an 88 year old ex Prime Minister of Malaysia who once equated any Muslims who take bribes to being a Muslim who 'makan babi' and yet during his administration corruption and the acquisition of material wealth by many many Umno Muslims became 'honorable' - is this not disrespecting Jawi? What is Jawi doing about that old man?

Prostitution has become a source of income for many PDRM rank and file. Is this not disrespecting Jawi too? What is Jawi doing about this?

Once again ptui to all those in Jawi who made that decision to detain an old man of 81 simply because the old man decided to speak his mind on a matter that many of us agree with but do not have the guts to do as he did.
