A smile, a chuckle and a laugh : Read NST!

Old habits die hard. I like to start the day with some uplifting words of wisdom or quotes that can fire up my though process to begin my day. This morning it was this:
“TO ME, THERE ARE THREE THINGS WE ALL SHOULD DO EVERY DAY. WE SHOULD DO THIS EVERY DAY OF OUR LIVES. NUMBER ONE IS LAUGH. YOU SHOULD LAUGH EVERY DAY. NUMBER TWO IS THINK. YOU SHOULD SPEND SOME TIME IN THOUGHT. AND NUMBER THREE IS, YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR EMOTIONS MOVED TO TEARS, COULD BE HAPPINESS OR JOY. BUT THINK ABOUT IT. IF YOU LAUGH, YOU THINK, AND YOU CRY, THAT'S A FULL DAY. THAT'S A HECK OF A DAY. YOU DO THAT SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE SOMETHING SPECIAL.” - JIM VALVAN
Then something that would bring a smile to my lips……a chuckle perhaps and if I am lucky a laugh. Normally I can get all three by powering up my PC get on the net and go read NST. Let me share with you what I read this morning and maybe we can both have a good laugh.
First a smile…..
Not for the rich: Government acting responsibly in adjusting subsidies: The sugar subsidy, too, was mainly enjoyed by industries as their use was double that of ordinary consumers. Furthermore, 1.4 million Malaysians are diabetic, which place us among the highest in the world. (NST)
Their interpretation of the sugar subsidies NOT affecting the masses is because industry use of sugar is double that of the ordinary consumers. True very true! By this logic BN justify stealing the RM $500 million of our money to give to Razak Baginda to make ONE UMNO crony rich by offering RM$3 Million to the people of Sibu for flood mitigation. After all there were 257,300 people in Sibu! One Razak Baginda against 257,300 in Sibu!  Here a smile comes to my lips.

Next:
BN can retain Sarawak in coming elections:  Commenting on the poll results, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) head of political science studies, Dr Faisal S. Hazis, said BN had consistently won at least 55 per cent of the popular vote in Sarawak, since 1974. (NST)
UMNO has consistently won two third majorities in almost all General Elections. So what happened in 2008? Maybe this Faisal is a PR sleeper planted in UNIMAS to lull BN into a false sense on security in Sarawak? So I have my chuckle.

Thirdly:

Subsidy Rationalisation A Bold Step For The Future - Najib

KUANTAN, July 16 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Friday the government's subsidy rationalisation programme announced Thursday is a bold move to put the country's economy on a strong footing

Now this is really innovative. Najib seizes a low point in his administration and turn it into “Bold step for the Future”. You take away the subsidy of sugar  - which almost every Mat, Ah Chong, Raju, Minah, etc use everyday  - affecting millions upon millions of Malaysians and say that it was a bold step. Well in politics you call any stupid decision made – “a bold step”. As bold as the decision our CJ made when he decided to marry another wife without his first wife’s permission. Ditto for Bung Mokhtar. As bold a decision as Mahathir made when he decided to rid himself of Anwar…and the list goes on...and we all know what happened after those 'bold decision' were made!

This gave me the laugh to start my day. So that explains why the NST is still my first stop early in the morning. Old habits die hard.

P.S.
The sugar subsidy, too, was mainly enjoyed by industries as their use was double that of ordinary consumers. Furthermore, 1.4 million Malaysians are diabetic, which place us among the highest in the world.(NST)

Putting in that information about 1.4 million Malaysian being diabetic  - that was a nice touch! Now they can claim that the BN government had the welfare of the people of Malaysia in mind when they took away the subsidy – now less people are going to take sugar and more of us will be healthy! Man this BN government is all heart!

At this rate for sure they are going to tell PDRM to stop killing people under their custody and stop bashing demonstrators – that way we will have more healthy citizens after every anti-ISA Demos that we have!
