Thai masseuse says she was raped by immigration officer in Malacca depot
MALACCA: A Thai masseuse claimed she was raped by an immigration officer and forced to perform oral sex on him at the Machap Umboo detention centre in Alor Gajah, earlier this month.
The incident came to light when the 32-year-old woman told her sister, 28, about her ordeal.
Speaking to the press yesterday, the victim's younger sister said she and a friend had gone to the massage centre in Melaka Raya on March 7 to meet up with her sibling, who worked there.
However, immigration officers raided the centre at 11pm.
Both sisters as well as three female workers were rounded up and brought to the immigration depot the following day.
The following day, the five were brought to the Machap Umboo immigration depot.
"We each had our statements recorded separately. My sister was the first to enter the questioning room.
"She spent about 15 minutes in there. When she came out, she appeared furious.
"When I asked her why, she told me that she had been sexually assaulted," claimed the woman.
She claimed her sister told her that the immigration officer had demanded a massage, and then forced himself on her without a condom. He also forced her to perform oral sex on him.
"My sister vomited as a result," she claimed.
"I was eventually released after I showed proof that I had valid documents," added the woman, who is married to a Malaysian.
Her 34-year-old husband, who is from Seremban, was also present at the press conference.
Furious over the sexual assault against her sister, the housewife lodged a report at the Melaka Tengah police station.
Alor Gajah police chief Superintendent A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz when contacted, confirmed the case.
State Immigration director Mohd Fauzi Abdullah, who was also contacted for clarification, declined to comment, adding that the allegation was being investigated.
