1MDB Is Not Bankrupt - Najib
KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) --
The government today refuted the allegation that its strategic investment company, 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), is bankrupt.
In fact, Finance Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said it was a non-issue as the company had settled its debt of RM2 billion to two financial institutions two months ago.
"1MDB had settled its debt of RM2 billion with Maybank and RHB Bank on Feb 13, 2015 according to the loan's terms and conditions.
"As such, the issue of 1MDB being bankrupt does not arise," said Najib, who is also Prime Minister, in a written reply to Jeff Ooi Chuan Aun (DAP-Jelutong) at the Parliament here today.
Oii had asked the Finance Minister to explain whether or not the 1MDB had gone bankrupt after being unable to repay its debt of RM2 billion to the financial institutions.

Why does Najib have to deny that a company that he initiated, that he is head of and that his government had actively endorsed with all manner of financial assistance and outright gifts of our national assets "sold" to that company at prices that would make the tag "jual murah" insulting - why does Najib have to stand up and tells us that that 1MDB is not bankrupt?
Does not the mere mention of 1MDB and Bankrupt in the same line by the Prime Minister makes us wonder if 1MDB is really heading that way?
This is the biggest "non-issue" that we have had for a very very long time....a "non-issue" that in all probability will make Najib a "non-PM" and someone else a "non-FLOM".
Is this the "kiss of death" that 1MDB does not really need?
You be the judge of that!
