My first reaction to this piece of "good news" to those under the e-Kasih poverty-eradication programmes is simply this : 

Which Umno Ketua Bahagian made money from the supply of these 2,000,000,000 (two million) set-top box?

• In Australia these set-top box retails from around the Aud $40 mark - that is about RM$120. If you buy 2,000,000,000 of them it would  be much much cheaper. How much did the Malaysian government paid per set-top box?

• Were these tendered out by Social Welfare at state level through the State Development Officer (PPN) -which means the MB gets a cut  - or from Putrajaya by ICU JPM - which means someone from PMO gets a cut?

• Open tender, close tender, negotiated tender or was it the "close one eye, shut the other" type of tender?
•  
• Siapa dapat kontrak supply set-top box?
